I got the G4 after testing the B9 and A95L, and I like it the most. To say I'm blown away is not enough; it's a great TV. Actually, all of them are, but for my specific gaming needs and movies, the G4 is for me. This TV has serious brightness, the HDR is great, and the picture quality is super sharp with micro details. The processor is a big step up from the older models; you can see the clarity on the display. I tested the QD-OLEDs, and yes, they have superior colors, but they are not far ahead. The G4 has great colors as well; I doubt anyone will complain if they had it. There is no perfect TV-G4 has its problems as well-but I really enjoy it. You can't go wrong with any of them; it depends on what you are using it for

Why couldn’t the LG G4 perform the best in all categories? I bought the 77” G4 and have been enjoying the larger screen, detail, brightness, the deep blacks and great contrast in 4k movies. I’m coming from a 20+ year old 50” Panasonic plasma screen which the picture is still great with deep blacks and was one of the best performers at the time. I changed my decision 4X, lol. Initially I had the Sony Bravia mini led 77”. But I had to have the deep blacks without blooming. I then chose the Samsung qled with the matte screen but changed my mind once I found it didn’t support 140hz for gaming. I then was about to change my order to the LG G4 but was talked into getting the LG M3 but found out it didn’t have the new A11 processor. So I ended up changing it back to the LG G4. I just wish it had the video processing of the Sony 95L which Sony does the best because they make the movies and are made using Sony movie cameras. I also wish it had the best colors but in that aspect it still looks beautiful. When LG makes a qled perhaps I may change. Also the fact that the Sony costs significantly more which made me finally choose the LG G4 77” and a week later I was able to price adjust to $3999 from the $4499 4th of July sale price I paid.

Looks like U8K has brighter highlights. And also in the waterfall the U8N looks like has posterization, it looks very blurry.

Ive seen Rob B and Chirag etc.. both great guys and love to hear them talk a out their products. Bruce however has that certain level of energy and enthusiasm that a product guy.. TVs especially need.. there is nothing better than information coupled with energy/enthusiasm. Tcl being vertically integrated is also a huge factor in their success.. Seeing the 24 qm8 improve their algorithm compared to the 23 model... is proof that they listen to the people and the reviewers of TVs.

Another Comment. Wait till Samsung ads something like MLA on their QD-OLEDs that world be brighter with more color volume/ vibrancy. As Rtings indicated that the QD-OLED burn in much quicker while WOLED did not suffer that as much due to the white pixels in scarce to color vibrancy . Maybe adding something like MLA on the Samsung QD-OLED increasing brightness will lower the burning in effect in Samsung since it will not be pushing it to get bright with the help of a MLA type process.

Wasn’t planning to buy a tv this year but my 2.5 year old Sony XR77 inch A80J just went out all of the sudden and no I didn’t purchase the extended warranty. Sony really let me down but anyway, I just ordered the 77 inch LG G4. I’m pretty excited, I’ve always purchased Sony TVs. Besides the awesome picture, I’m looking forward to the flat wall mounting.

B8 better than A95L . For all light condition, go B9. In uae , b9 is 75/85 only. No 65.

I am surprised at both of you . A couple of weeks ago the Bravia 9 was the OMG TV with a lot of Hype about it brightness, and reference TV and on and on,. Now you are saying the G4 is brighter, witch I doubt without it getting Screen Burn in over time. But I bought two Bravia 9s at the the say time. One for my daughter 65" and one for me 75" . I like larger but room restrictions. Both have DSE that is subpar for a high-priced TV. I'm not going to play the panel lottery on these, and Rtings also nailed it with the Barvia 9 they also reviewed that it was not a good panel with bad DSE and grey uniformity. I will just get it them exchanged at Best Buy and get different TVs for myself and my daughters family. I fell for the premature HYPE. I saw them in person with their content which blew me away, but there is no DSE testing at the store. The Sony panel lottery issues mostly getting just a fair panel on exchange most of the time. At least with my perspective. OLED a no go for me. I had them and burned them in due to content I watched. You can not teach an old dog new tricks. Thank you for the Hype and blowing a lot of money. I still love both of you and support you but this time you both goy snookered!

85" X90L for the win! 😆 Pure value!!

Unless you make millions(and even then), it's kind of dumb to get anything more than a mid level tv if you're mostly streaming or gaming on a console. Compression, motion and upscaling is still a major problem on streaming services even with the best tvs. Definitely dont go cheap but the 2k range is the sweet spot for now. You get bigger with most the quality given with streaming. The expensive tvs don't even get to use most their tech. 🤙 18:51

Getting the S90D because it's good that I don't have the option to watch TV during day time and it's good that it ain't an option. I play computer though so my gaming room is dark and has Asus displays... I watch TV when it's dark and I have my shades down and lights off if I ever watch TV in day time, especially when the sun is shining. I think most people don't watch during day time but for the people who watch during a sunny day it might be a good choice to get the s95d. I think it would be a good choice if you have a yard and want to watch tv in your open kitchen/ bar/ pool area? For now I have no money for the S95D to try it because of the expensive open kitchen and grill area I just bought but once I have money left over I'll give it a try.

People arguing about a test thats opinion based. Just because they perform the test doesn't mean the winner is the "best". Do your own research and find a way to actually check out the TV's. CZcams isn't it.

I know I’m I in the minority but I disliked the G4 when I saw it. It’s probably Best Buy’s fault as it was in torch mode. The S90C was a lot better but there was something that bothered me about the G4. The S95D with its matte finish was more like the S90C than I expected. I don’t know if it was over-sharpening along with extreme highlights or the green tint but my eyes were not happy. Sonys made my eyes the happiest and were the most enjoyable and once you hit the X90L or higher, they are all about the same.

My guess is that the dark room winner will be the A95L unless some critical processing is disabled. The bright room winner will be the Bravia 9 unless they are looking at some mode that limits the TV’s potential. Once any LED flexes light on a bright screen with its 800+ nits full window, the Oleds just can’t keep up.

Hello has anyone check the nextgen tunner issues with the Bravia 7 the Bravia 9 may have the same issues.

Saw this (2023) Hisense 85UX on sale at Best Buy for $2500, should I get it above the (2024) Hisense 85U8N for $1800? Or I'm also looking at the (2023) Samsung 85QN90C for $2600, (2023) Samsung 8K 85QN800C for $3000, (2024) TCL 85QM851G for $2300. And I'm also thinking about going back to OLED with the (2023) Samsung 83S90C for $3300. I had the (2016) LG 65OLEDC6P & The (2020) LG 65OLEDC10P both of which had burn-in issues. The (2020) C10 less than the (2016) C6. But now that it's 2024 & there's QD-OLED I'm hoping burn-in screen retention isn't an issue anymore.

Got the G4. Great tv but compared to my C2, I hardly notice a difference irl. Just love the design so much, which stops me from cheating with Sony ❤😂

And still no X95L vs any of these.. this is getting funny ! Tell me why the X95L has gone up in price? Also, there have been updates to the firmware. We all know the 85" uses a different screen. And We now have to wonder how much you guys are getting paid by Sony to push new inferior products over old since you both don't have real jobs. Seriously, how do you get paid an income, enough to survive on by just reviewing tv's ?

I have always wanted a 83 inch oled tv, and i finnaly got a sony 83a90j for only 2600€. An open box with a small mark in the bottom right of the screen on the ar coating, but not affecting the image quallity. Fantastic TV.

As a complete package, quality, price and value the S90D could be the pick of the year.

I’ve just bought a G4, it’s very nice! What swung it for me was that I took advantage of a weekend discount and trade in offer LG were doing, so got a good deal.

For everyone a comparison how the shootout works: oleds will go against each other and mini led will go against each other seperatly. The winner of both type will then go against each other to crown the winner.

It would be interesting if the value judgements made during the showdown were based on the “Viewing experience” rather than the black levels. I you walk around outside on a clear day, you will NEVER see black unless it is a black car or a pair of shoes. The black that creeps into the picture on a TV is the result of the cameras used which are incapable of equaling the eye’s ability to see into the shadows seen in real life. The result of film’s inability to faithfully replicate these shadows results in that space being filled in with black on the TV screen as a default. No special kudos should be given to a TV that produces a blacker default value than another brand. The blacker it is the less real it is.
