Found the s95 brighter but the a95l had more detail looking forward to a show down between a95l,s95d & the G4
I just bought a Sony A95L - it is gorgeous 😎 I love this TV - no hate on the Samsung , but I’m thrilled with my purchase
One of the best in the world, my friend! Enjoy it and thank you for watching!
nothing will happpen even if you give hate ! samsung NEO qled is the best tv in the world
Sony stomps the samsung
Capoeir i just bought a95l also, but now im seeing poor reviews on motion, I hope I do not have to take it back :( Have you had any trouble with motion on A95L
@@Nathann556 the only thing about mine is the Dolby Vision sometimes don’t like to shake hands very well with my 4k Blu-Ray player : other than that : no issues & I also game on it. Just watch it & see - make sure if you take it back : know the stores return policy.

Samsung S95D😍
Pause the video at the 30:16 mark. The detail and color gradation of the A95l clouds completely destroys the Samsung S95D. Sonys processing is definitely superior
Facts! The A95L is a still a straight monster!

@@RikoFlex67 Will Sony release a new QD-OLED model this year or will they only release a new LED/LCD flagship this year?

Yes plus the motion handling is better, no way it's worth the price for me though ! I guess I'll wait for the G4 on black friday
Both great looking TVs. I prefer the A95L just for more detail and color accuracy. I was going to get a LG G4 but with the hdmi issue I am not sure I want to risk it. Great overview of the differences between each tv. Really can't go wrong. I'm a big movie watcher with a very large collection so gaming is not as important to me.
Great review and comparison Brian. We appreciate the hard work you put in.
My absolute pleasure my friend!
Brian, as always- fantastic review!! @16:34 Sony's detail is off the charts; thereafter @16:43 shadow nuances are amazing! Additionally, @16:49 the vividness and accuracy on the A95L are unparalleled. Samsung certainly has a slight edge in the brightness/color saturation areas generally speaking but cannot go wrong with either of these beautiful displays.
This was already very helpful. For me it comes to the A95L vs the G4. I would love to watch you testing the motion on both TVs, because that ist very important to me and the G4 claims to do dynamic motion based on the content... :)
Thanks as usual for doing these long comparisons. One thing I would love to see though is some information on motion processing. Most of the Demos running here are likely 4K60 sources, so they will look fine, but how about throwing in a 4K24p test Video. Something challenging like a flock of birds flying across the screen or a bike or other object moving in front of a brick wall? Maybe a few small, fast objects zipping across the screen? For me, the quality of the Motion Interpolation is far more of a deciding factor than brightness which I usually have to turn down anyway in m dark room.
Looking forward to seeing firstly the glare free S95D v A95L screen & equally how good the upscaling is. Great channel mate..
So glad you enjoyed my friend! Thank you for watching
Thanks for the video ! my s95D is coming friday :)
Congratulations! I think you'll be very happy. Thank you for watching

G4 vs. A95l vs. Qn900d 🧐
Great job, Brian 👏
A Sony 83 inch with 3rd or 4th Gen QD-OLED Panels would be the best. It's hopefully coming in 2025.
Nice review. Picked up an S95D earlier this week and mounted it. Love it so far. Super black colors and great contrast. Very happy.
I'm so glad you are enjoying it!
Wow. Great video B. I’m a couple years away from buying another tv. Have last two gen QD OLED. But I love seeing these comparisons. Impressed by the 3rd gen Samsung QD
I think Samsung should consider manufacturing two seperate versions of the S95D in 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch--one with a glossy screen, and one with a matt screen. This would allow us to choose between a TV for use in bright surroundings (matt) or for use in dark surroundings (glossy) based on our use case.
One important factor for me is the kind of user. I tend to associate Hisense, LG, Philips, Samsung, and TCL with the consumer crowd being that they also manufacture products for grooming, healthcare, HVAC, kitchen, laundry, etc.. I associate Denon, Marantz, Onkyo, Pioneer, Sennheiser, Sony, and Yamaha with enthusiasts and professionals being that their focus is audio, video, home theater, etc.. As a professional musician, I tend to favor sound and picture reproduction which applies as little modification to the signal as possible. Therefore, between these two, I would choose the Sony A95L.
Thanks Brian for always going the extra mile. We know that this is not only a job for you, but you are genuinely interested in giving us the best info out there so we can make the best decision possible or just knowing all the new stuff out there. I like brightness only as much as it doesn't take away detail and realism. Sometimes the Samsung is so bright, you miss some detail and it looks like an extra light is shining on the scene. We are all different so I understand those who just love the immaculate bright color. For me, I'd take the Sony for the fact of the processing, upscaling and detail look impressively real as opposed to partially artificially enhanced. Either way, like you said, what matters most is what the buyers priorities are. Sony for me and LG comes in 2nd. Samsung is just too saturated or whatever professional term you use. I'm sure you get the gist of what I'm saying. Thanks again for going above and beyond sir. You are awesome !!!!
The pleasure is mine, my friend . Excellent comment!
Great Review as always!!!
Excellent mate 🎉
greetings from Paris. Thank you Brian for your videos. Another superb comparison. Looking forward to seeing the G4 in comparison with the s95d and A95L.
You'll see it soon my friend. Greetings to you on Paris from the U.S. Thank you for being here
See you Brian 😊
S95D content is so rare for some reason. I am watching this on my S95D :)
I don't think it's fair to call this 'matte'. It is not your typical everyday matte material.
I use this as my PC monitor and reading white text on a black background feels like I am reading a magazine quality paper. I love it. Games, especially Dead Space Remake, blew my mind. I was so absorbed at looking at how gorgeous the game is, that I didn't even notice the jump scares lol.
You may have bought the best gaming TV for 2024. It's hard to say, yet. That said, it is highly unlikely the S90D (or QN900D if OLED is a must) will be better than the S95D.
Something happened in KG's livestream after a firmware update to the S95B that was taking the gaming crown from the S90D (which was already beating the G4 handily).
I'm not the only one to say this. Literally, everyone (outside of just a couple of LG enthusiasts) where blown away at the S95B, and S90D (before the firmware update).
Congratulations on a monster gaming TV
They both look fantastic! Great video

@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY, If The Samsung S95D Was In The Size You Want, Would You Get It Instead Of The LG G4????
He then will need a comparison .
First that comes to my mind is design and picture quality, and Samsung fails it on my end with the Matt finish, yes the color are vibrant and colorful, but details are missing and the finish looks bad when tv is off. That why I’m going to get the g4 by Black Friday in 83’’ or 77’’.
Hey Brian , thanks for the video .. I got a 77 S95D coming Saturday I was looking at the 77 A95L in comparison as alternative . But in my mind I’m like .. the New Sony Bravia 9 in 85 inches is calling my name .. thankfully Best Buy has the 60 days return/exchange for total members .. so either way I’m definitely going to try that B9 when it comes out . Thank you so much my friend! I truly appreciate you being here
I’ve had the A95L and it’s worth all the hype to me. It’s already blinding at times. Just no need for additional brightness.
Is the sound good enough to forego a cheap soundbar?,since I only have the money for the TV
Yes, the audio speakers are that good that you could get away without a soundbar or receiver system.
Just picked it up for my bedroom tv to replace my S95B which was a great tv but so damn inaccurate out of the box lol.
@alexyoung5798 I also have the S95B lol, but it's pretty accurate on Firmware 1622 (latest as of now). I also have professionally calibrated mine with picture settings. I have tons of videos up on my channel.
If you thought the S95B sounded good, the A95L speakers are definitely a step up across the board...enjoy!
Totally Agree
I will say unless you have an elaborate video capturing setup you really do have to see these level of tv's in person where ever you can in your area to get a full experience of differences and improvements
4K movie watching in a dark room and sports (as in Hockey) are my main two reasons for wanting to upgrade over my current TV. Buying a new TV this year will be a tough decision.
Sony is very good at processing that’s why Sony TVs are respected. I honestly always preferred Sony and always been with Sony but I do like to try different brands as well. Sony in this comparison looks way sharper detail is very noticeable. Makes me think this might be do to the matte screen in my opinion. Losing slightly to being sharper the gloss screen makes up for it.
Looking for that 77inch G4 and S95D comparison. Like everybody else I guess. Great content in the mean time
Thanks for all the hard work and video. And greetings from Holland. I feel that the 95D is a great tv certainly in filmmaker mode. What i doubt (and you can judge this better by sitting next to the tv) is how detailed the 95D is? Is there an issue with the details and if yes how noticable? And what about upscaling from 720 or 1080? How about details etc? Hope you can help before deciding to buy the 95d
It's an improvement from last year ; still can't match the sony .

Awesome Tomek! Hope all is well In Poland my friend
The lamps in my bedroom reflect so much in my LG CX, glad to hear this TV is fixing that
It's absolutely perfect for that exact set up
Great comparaison between a95L and s95D, I used to have Samsung TVs and gotta admit the new S95D looks Amazing ! I purchased recently the A95L 77” and frankly the image quality and processing are exquisite and natural. It has a right balance to me ! But You totally right it’s really depending on your liking and I am leaning more in details and accuracy color for film making. the brightness hit where it needs to be on the a95L with that said s95D has its color and brightness punches also a treat for the eyes too ! that some would prefer. Yes both looks with Stunning images. Thanks for doing this ! Great vids as always !
I prefer a glossy display. I'm not saying that it's better, I'm just saying that's my preference.
Me too😁
I will order the S95D, this tv is so noble!! 😍
Thank you, Brian. Your first-hand, experienced, and knowledgeable comparison means a lot to a great many of us.
My absolute pleasure, my friend ! So glad you enjoyed!
Great job once again Brian, excellent side by side and well articulated points presented here. I think the S95D is getting way over the top criticism, it is on called for. It is a great TV no doubt, even though I am more of a Sony guy.
THANKS AGAIN BRIAN FOR A GREAT PRESENTATION.
IN THE 65 INCH TVs THE SONY 65A95L USES 444 WATTS OF ELECTRICITY WHILE THE SAMSUNG 65S95C IS ENERGY STAR AND USES ONLY 128 WATT OF ELECTRICITY. SOMETHING TO CONSIDER. A DEFINITE TIE BREAKER WHEN CONSIDERING YOUR ELECTRICITY BILL!
BRO YOU NEED A CAPS LOCK KEY CAUSE I GOT AN EXTRA ONE YOU CAN HAVE
@@whiskizyo2067 ID BE HAPPY TO SHARE SOME AS WELL
THANKS BRIAN IT'S MUCH APPRECIATED!
But the Samsung sounds like ass so you need to run your very own external sound system just to compare the two. A sound system that will no doubt be power hungry.
16:32 19:14 oh my god~
The s95d detail, brightness, and color are crazy.
the sony just looks horrible, way too dark and no detail
I must be seeing something different here. Can't even make out that there's a shadow on the leaves on the s95d there 🧐
A95L all day long!!!
Im looking to upgrade my gz2000. What you think i should go for.
Those specular highlights on the S95D are DELICIOUS.
Also love how the 95D gets so bright in Dynamic it makes the camera start clipping like mad lol.
Note: I might be a bit biased since I’m watching this on a 77” S95D, but the coin flip was between this and the A95L, and the deal got me this plus a soundbar for less than a great deal on the A95L, and am glad I made it 🤪😜😁.
And yes Google TV still beats the crap outta Tizen. Gonna be like Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul 😜 for OS’s.
Good video.
Thank you
Both look amazing. Love my S89C! 😜
Thanks to Brian especially I've come to appreciate and prefer Jennifer Gala's demos more than the others especially the S&M Demos.😅
I've always found the mat finish of gloss screens add a slight blur to the image which is why i don't like it.
For brightness, does having the a95l on use for past year affect its brightness compared to having a fresh s95d out of the box?
No as they are both brand new and being broken In my friend
Blumin eck, Bri .... best start to any of your videos to date, period 👏👏👏👏
Thank you so much for this presentation 🙏🙏
Thanks Brian
Thank you Craig!!
It seems the Samsung is brighter this time around. Very good comparison.
The content really makes the difference that is being played on these tv's. 😉
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY I see Haha. Thank you Brian.
Thank you 😘
Thank you for your review engineering background here. The that the Samsung 95 D is not bad
The Sony A95 L is Michael Jordan, the Samsung is Scotty Pippin. Scotty Pippin was only #2 on the Bulls because his teammate was Michael Jordan, if that makes sense. I prefer Jordan to Pippin.
Brian I'd much rather you be a grown ass man about it, and have your opinion change over weeks and months after actually spending the time that most of us honestly don't have and then giving an overall updated perspective especially as more tv's come out. It only makes sense and its realistic. Thanks and keep it up, its part of your brand now.
I appreciate that Chris! The narrative can swing so the Wrong way that it's a detriment to you guys viewing us. Thank you
Both amazing tvs. I think the Sony has more detail in the slightly brighter scenes put out by the Samsung.
Stip video at 19.16 see the detail on the grapes for the Sony.
Great job, Bri. Of course you can change your mind on which tv you like.....thats why we follow you. Keeping it real ♥️

Nice video I have the samsung S95C and the sony A95l both are 65 and I had them side by side the S95C to me was the winner in my eyes the A95l is a great tv as well
Both top notch tvs. Sony is that enough noticeable better. Also way more expensive. That’s all you need to consider when buy
Hi,
Is the S95D at a disadvantage in a Dark Room, because of the anti-glare screen ?
Many thanks,
Derek.
Sitting close, Sony wins on details. But Samsung is a tad brighter. Great video. 👍
details is everything, samsung bright mess
Both these televisions are amazing.
Excellent comment! Thank you for watching
Brian you gotta stop looking at me like that in these intros.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I remember my “good friend” Brian saying that future tv’s need to focus on other things besides brightness. In some scenes the s95D looks better and in others it loses detail looking blown out. I still prefer the more natural look of the A95L.
Keep in mind that the S95D is maintaining the details as it's the camera which is clipping. I mention this throughout. That said the Sony does have better all around processing
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPYI’m biased. Been with Sony since the Z9D.
SONY!
Hi Brian. Greetings from the UK.
A great review. I've always been a Sony fan but I'm sorely tempted by the Samsung.
I would like just a little more brightness.
Hello my friend! I hope all is well in the UK. The Sasmung will most definitely provide that. While it looks blown out on camera, it isn't in person . The detail is still there. It's a good deal brighter.
So far I'm liking the A95L more due to processing. Occasionally, the S95D is better for bright scenes with less detail.

Brian, you said G4 doesn't have gaming advantage over the S95D, what advantage does it have over A95L other than 144hz?
3rd generation qd oled panel is the best panel out there. Too bad about the matte finish on s95D
Is it possible to bring down the brightness on the S95D to match the brightness of the A95L and regain lost detail?
Absolutely possible my friend. Each preset can be tuned. The most accurate ones, filmaker and movie can also be juiced a bit
Well done! I had written off Samsung and now you have me looking again. Does it still have the “signature” Samsung skip now and again in the motion?
yes
Thx! LG or Sony it will be then. :/
Any time stamp for sdr content?
Amazing TVs. Both.
It’s a shame Sony hasn’t made the effort to utilise the Gen 3 QD OLED panel. Samsung’s S95D needs refinement, imo.
A95L or G4? I'm very confused because I literally just saw all the TVs I'm considering at the store and somehow the one I liked the most by far was the S90C followed by the Bravia 8.... Help
I wonder how much they have to crank up the Samsung to be as bright with the matte screen and will it cause premature burn in
you are right
Sometimes the Samsung looks more washed out where the Sony has more contrast. If I had to choose I would go with Sony.
For me it's so much more to do with up conversion and motion judder/blur. Everything else is almost a wash you just get used to or adjust but motion judder, smearing or major noise issues I cannot get past. Sony is the most consistent fixing this on streaming imo
The S95D seems almost unnaturally bright and the Sony produces more nuanced details. Processing seems to be better on the Sony
It needs calibration to be relaxed .
Best detail and motion, upscale:g4
Best brightness,sharpness, color:s95d
The game functional powerhouse g4,s95d will sell like hot cakes.
Does the s95d screen clean easy if it has finger prints on ?
It does my friend. Easier than glossy
The S95D its the A95L brighter whit the mat finish you love Brian 😜 Good Job 👍
he doesnt love it tho. If s95D would have a glossy screen more enthusiast would consider it, cuz it is the most capable panel.

In KG's stream recently (A90L, S95B, S90D and G4) - The S90D was running away with the gaming section until the S95B was updated to the latest update..
The S95B was a complete and absolute gaming monster, with the S90D not very far behind.
After that stream, as a gmaer mostly, I decided i am going either S95 series or QN900D this year.
I have done so much back and forth up to this point. But i have narrowed the Samsung QD-OLED panels as best for gaming in OLED and the QN900D as best in miniLED.
Where the G4 shines is in movie mode and processing. I do believe it looks quite stellar. That said, KG hadnt updated his S95B until well after that point, so who knows?
I can't speak what other creator's do or show especially in comparisons. For me the S95D is clearly above the others except the G4. I've games on the G4 for many hours and It's my favorite. The S95D has been featured on this channel many times and it's excellent. The 900D is also on this channel a ton. Either way you win

Both are complete monsters. Sony just bugs the heck out of me that they simply are priced way too high compared to the competitors. This comparison the Sony is easily $500 more and honestly based on this side by side not worth it…
Love you form Pakistan ❤❤❤
The A95L beats the Bravia 9 with deeper colors, and still beats the S95D but not by as much. I have a 12 year old Samsung 1080p, that looks a lot sharper than today's TVs, but it's starting to fail from vertical banding. I tried a G3 from all the raving reviews and couldn't stand the "soft" picture. I found myself constantly blinking to focus, but it was the tv, not my eyes. I brought it back for a refund after a week.
I dont know, the a95l looks a lot better to me than the s95d
Edit: I think it's the s95d being so bright it's blown out for me. So 🤷🏿♂️
you are right
It's the camera. 3rd gen panels have higher peak brightness so that alone causes issues. Camera can only expose to one display at a time, not both. Also the matte screen confuses the camera a bit. People keep reporting what their eyes are seeing without actually listening to what the presenters are saying, smh.... No TV is EVER going to look on camera the way it looks in person. Unless you have a REALLY serious camera which none of these CZcams guys have.
So in a dark room, are there any lifted blacks or blooming on the Samsung?
None
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Wonderful! The coating was the one thing that worried me about the TV. But in that case I’ll definitely be going with the Samsung for my movie room then. Thank you for helping me decide my purchase!
