I draw better than I paint . I’ve heard it said that if you can draw you can paint but using a brush is different and watercolour can be hard to work with as it has a mind of its own. And so I will use watercolour pencils to combine my love for drawing with my unskilled hand with a paint brush. Thank you for this inspiring video

Just a tip on painting skies so you don’t have drips, turn your paper upside down. Utah is great for painting and sketching!

Oh, I'm so pleased there is a Flanders link through the poppies. I go there quite a lot from the UK, combining WW1 history, cycling and sketching. Re coloured pencils, I share your love of the process, and when Urban Sketching I often combine ink drawing with water-soluble coloured pencils. Just found your channel and am enjoying it very much. Thank you!

I was thinking of looking for a lightweight, comfortable folding chair to sit on outside for "plein air" work, to try and draw trees in my area (I don't mind sitting on a rock or log, but we do have rattlesnakes in my area, not to mention ants and other insects). Do you have a special chair you like to use?

It is OK to do everything at once on site if you live somewhere where the weather cooperates. Here in the UK, we often have to 😊 what we can and finish off later if necessary.

Thanks for sharing your lovely painting. It's the best of both worlds drawing with the pencils and painting with them. I enjoy watercolor painting and drawing with pencils. The inktense pencils are so vibrant. I just bought the 100 inktense pencil set and am looking forward to using them. Your tutorial was quite informative. Thanks again.

OMG, this is very beautiful. And the way you describe your process… I really do understand you. I often feel the same, while I‘m painting, drawing. I love to use watersoluble pencils. But to combine it with coloured pencils sounds great. I am definitely going to try it.

That looks like it was a lot of fun! I also change from sitting to standing too...it seems to help with fatigue.
