The charedi (don't use the word religious for charedim) community was not hit hard so they could make a Kiddush Hashem They were hit hard by Covid19 because large numbers in their communities both in Israel and abroad showed utter disrespect for other people and human life itself. Mass funerals, weddings, yeshiva study, shul and much more was deemed more important to the community than saving lives, or to be more accurate - than not killing. So We have a community who always likes to claim that they are the Torah true Jews. But they have forgot the values of the torah, forgot ונשמרתם מעוד... forgot the Aseret Hadibrot. The truth is, they don't have a clue and will surely deny it, but they are "shtark' (strong) at their own charedism, charedi culture, and all the main things that Haredi culture obsesses about (picks and chooses), but weak when it comes to actually following the Torah. Rav Kelemen means well here but this community is lost. Would love to hear an honest reply from the Rav.
