Very nice tune you selected. One of the quintessential songs of the generation that came of age in the early 70's with a little country twang. The artist was a good choice for this cover. You stewardship at the farm is having quite the impact. So many beautiful flowers shrubs and trees. It would be quite a joy to take your leave of the city at the end of the work week and retreat to this idyllic setting. BRAVO! Enjoy :)

Looks like a very nice addition to the farm infrastructure. A couple thoughts to consider; It is good to have a filter attached to the hose bib and then attach your supply line to the filter. For that type of emitter, you will want at least a 120 mesh stainless steel filter. The purpose is to capture any small particles that may clog the emitters over time. I could not determine if you had emitters with different outputs based on the size of the tree. But if they are all the same, one emitter on a whip tree is fine. On a very large tree you would want 4 to 6 emitters in a circle around the trunk positioned about 2/3's of the way from the trunk to the canopy dripline. This isn't an exact science - use your judgement. If some of the twists in the supply line (16mm?) continue popping up, buy a box of galvanized wire earth staples. They are very helpful holding the hose where you want it. And they won't pop up out of the ground and cause problems with mowers or strimmers. I think they are very useful on an installation like yours. You may want to buy a two outlet digital timer for ~$70 US. You can set two separate programs, one for the upper orchard and one for around the house. A good way to water is 30 minutes once every 4 days at 7am. Set program 1 to start on a Monday with the cycle described and Program 2 to begin on a Tuesday with the cycle described for instance After several cycles, do some moisture testing in the soil and make any adjustments you feel are necessary. The timers are very easy to program and screw directly onto the hose bib. For the most effective drip irrigation you want to religiously stick with a schedule. If the soil drys out, everything changes. If it is too wet, your tree roots will be unhappy. I hope there is something useful here for you Hugo! All the best :)

What a wonderful family artifact. I have never seen a real two man ripping saw. We all understand that life was much more difficult before todays conveniences, but ripping logs into planks was a whole different level of brutal. I'm certain the top man had a 'broken back' by the end of the day and the bottom man was covered in sawdust - especially his eyes, nose and ears. You did a very nice job with the restoration. The electrolysis worked particularly well. In the future, you might want to consider an oil finish rather than varnish. Just a personal preference of mine. Oil has no gloss - but it does nourish the wood. I think it lets the natural body oil and sweat of the men who worked that saw shine in the coloration of the wood. I suspect the saw will have a spot of honor on display in your legacy farmhouse. I hope future generations have a visceral understanding of what it meant to actually saw the boards that built the house. Congratulations!

The becomes more diverse with every video. Red raspberry currants are great additions. I'm sorry about you lemon tree. It is a remarkable year for the lemon crop. I'm happy you were able to prop the dropping lib before it snapped. A tip about birds; there are certain species in the eastern US that like oranges. We put a pole in the ground with a spike on top. When there are citrus 'drops', you can cut it in half and spear it onto the stake so the birds can eat the interior. You can add perches to the plate too. Be creative :) See what kinds of birds the citrus attract. An easy way to add diversity <3 Tie to get out your electric lawn mower. Be sure you sharpen the blade and scrape the underside of the cutting deck and set the height of the cut as high as it will go. Let us know if it cuts better and faster. 👍.

Please reconsider cutting the grass when it's still so small and early. It's crucial to biodiversity and water storage to leave your grass big for as long as you can. And since you're called Along paths of Nature I would assume it's important to you.

Lovely video! I liked the music, the still photos, the activities, the prose about the farm and your connection. Very pleasing. A tip about cutting your very tall grass; Think of a chess board. Set your mower on the highest setting. Select the area you want to cut. (A four sided square or rectangle is the easiest pattern to follow). Start by cutting the width (arbitrary choice) out and back. Just power through it. Leave the chute open and blow out excess clippings. Don't spend extra time trying to make it look nice. This is the coarse chop. If you can, let the chopped grass dry in the sun for an hour or two and charge your battery so you have max power. When ready to start the finish cut, turn yourself and the mower 90 degrees and repeat - out and back. The pattern you cut now will be at right angles to the first cut. You may want to walk a little slower this time to give the blade an opportunity to mulch. OR, if you have a bag, you can pick up some clippings and use them as nice mulch rings around trees and shrubs. Use the rule of 3's - 3' around, 3" thick and 3" away from the trunk or all stems. You can add to the mulch rings as the season goes on and the grass clippings decompose. When you have completed the chessboard, it should be a good looking cut. Before you put the mower away, clean off all grass clippings stuck to the bottom of the mower deck and check the sharpness of the blade. If the blade is not sharp like a kitchen knife, sharpen it for the next cutting. I cut thousands of acres as a kid with this method. It was therapeutic. :)

I don't understand what you are doing with the dry sticks? You seem to cut some but not many then cut others and just put them in the next pile..what's the purpose?

Very satisfying seeing the piles coming together, the simple things in life & all that! Well done using the silent wheelbarrow, in the days when I had grass to cut I much preferred the manual mower to the electric one for the same reason. Foreman is keeping an eye on you!

Great to see so many trees on your land, it's a lot to keep on top of & the changeable weather certainly is no friend.

Nice job pruning! All of the trees looked more open and they had better structure with scaffolded branch structure starting to appear. The only thing I would add is to do some top working from a step ladder (or orchard ladder) if you are comfortable. The purpose is to cut the tips of the branches that are beyond a workable height back to a plump outward facing bud. If you don't take the tip off that's where the biggest shot of growth hormone (auxins) head - to the very tip. With top working, you redirect the growth of the crown outward instead of up. Make your cut about 1/2" (12mm) above the bud so the bud does not dry out. All the best!🤓👍

This is a delightful and totally unexpected video. What a lovely way to enjoy your mountainous surroundings. To me those grades looked impossible for all but the most dedicated bike rider. Climbing that long mountain grade would not be enjoyable for a weekend hobby biker. Thank you for sharing with me what is possible.
