I got stamped collection and inherited from my grandfather. I I’d like to sell pretty heavy for a while. I believe he was born 12/12/12. Passed away. On.12/12/2008. I’m not really into collecting stamps and I just do get some money out out of this cause I could use that more than I can use the stamps.
Good luck with your selling.
MuszE założyć sobie eBay, widać dużo mają tam filatelistyki.
Yes eBay has loads of philatelic items for sale.
Thank you for sharing these.
I must have a hearing problem as you are difficult to understand.
Sorry about that, no-one else has commented about sound quality. Maybe try adjusting the equalizer on your sounds system. I hope you can get to hear it properly. Have you tried any of the other videos?
There is an online stamps marketplace call buyee. However, fees are expensive, particularly for the domestic and international delivery charges.
I've not heard of that one. I will have a look.

I wish that I could get a close up of your icon page. Nice.
Some really nice stamps. Can't believe that Bermuda haven't issued a triangular shaped stamp. 😉😉
Yes, that's a very good observation. It would seem a natural fit.
Thanks for investing your time.
Grateful for your time. What a wonderful walk through your memories of that beautiful country.
Thanks for your comments. I still love visiting the country.
What's it wort
Thanks so much for this. I began collecting stamps because of these stamps as I was fascinated by the 2 crowned cranes design. I still think they are beautiful works of art and still adding to my collection. Will be enjoying the link to find out more.
Thanks for the video. I am still busy separating and categorising my SA union stamps. Quite a challenge with the four printings and the colour variations within each printing. Just a quick note regarding the pronunciation of the 'Suid' in Suid Afrika, easiest to remember that 'Suid' rhymes with the English words 'mate' or 'rate' - essentially 'Sate Afrika'.
Thanks, I knew my pronunciation was wrong but wasn't sure how it should sound. Glad you enjoyed the video and have fun sorting out your collection.
Excellent, it brought back some good memories as a child in the early 1960's receiving postcards and letters from our Uncle who lived in Kenya (he was an entomologist!!) and he also brought some sets back to us. Many had some "strange" animals on them. I will have to look through them again, great video as ever.
Many thanks for taking the time to comment. Looking at the postcard from Kenya certainly brought back happy memories of my childhood. Glad you like the videos.
I love a new introduction to a country(ies) through a collector's eyes and experiences. You hooked me as a subscriber!
Thanks for your comments, and glad you liked the stamps.
The £100 stamp was clearly for posting Elephants!

Your remark about modern stamps Worldwide from about the late 1960's thru much of the 1990s is so true of the overproduction. IN the US it goes even farther back about late 1930's thru 1990s. The main difference is many of the stamps prior to 1970's are being used for postage or sold at discounted prices . The result is the supply is smaller than those stampts from the later decades. Now the reason for recent issues attaining greater value is simply that many countries have curtailed production of stamps due to less interest in the hobby compared to its heyday in the middle of the 20th century and need. In the US many commemorative stamp issues were produced around 100 Million or more in the 1970's (the peak was the 1976 issue commemorating the Boston Tea Party in a lovely 4 stamp setenant set - 1 BILLION were produced). I think too post offices are destroying more quickly excess stock so survival rates of recent modern stamps is lower than in past decades. Finally, getting cancelled used definitive and commemorative US stamps is becoming harder and harder to find since people do not write letters much -- interestingly postcard writing has had a renaissance in recent years so certain stamps aren't too difficult to find used for postage. But the difference in amount of commemorative stamps produced in the US highlights my point -- most stamps are produced in the 12 - 35 million range for a commemorative, during the pandemic it was around 18 million. Definitive stamps are still produced in ample amounts as the main users of them are businesses - especially marketers who find they get a better response sending their mail with stamps rather than a meter strip.
Thanks for your comments. Very interesting
Thanks for great video! Love Stamps from Africa and the BWI!
I enjoyed this great video very much! Thank you Pete. The stamps are absolutely beautiful!!! Somehow it feels to me as if they really portray Africa and Africa's nature very well. It was also interesting to hear how you started to get into stamp collecting! 🙂
Thanks for your comments. You are so right about the stamps
Beautiful stamps!
I am also a stamps collector ,you have introduce in a very nice way, i appreciate that, my region is, KUT, NORTH BORNEO, BRUNEI, SARAWAK, LABUAN, MALAYA AND STATES THANK YOU.

Very interesting and enjoyable.
I was in the Royal Navy in the sixties, and rather weirdly my first foreign port of call was Mombasa, HMS Eagle, December 1964. So, Christmas and New Year in Mombasa. I well remember the tusks (of course), and walked under them on frequent occasions. The local bottled beer was called "Tusker", absolutely delicious- very hoppy. Next stop, Singapore...
My dad was on Ark Royal 1961. I'm sure he would have tried the beer too.
What, no giraffes?
There is one, at the beginning. 😃
Great video. The KUT stamps are a subject that I wanted to explore more on. Thank you.
How does anyone afford this. It would take thousands of copies of an expensive stamp
You can pick up damaged ones quite cheaply but you are right, it's an expensive business.
Hello. I can't find the link to the George VI website that you mentioned in the video. Maybe you forgot to add it. Enjoyed the video.
You are absolutely right, I forgot to add it. It's there now. 🤦♂️
Great introduction to the stamps of this area. I was born in Kenya, so grew up with these stamps and they still have a special place in my heart and in my collection. Just one small thing - the g in Tanganyika is a hard g (as in goose) rather than a soft g (as in gem).
Thanks, I always wondered how to pronounce that properly.
@ourdadstamps @stephenogier7499 Wow! A topic near and dear to my heart as well. My comments are almost word for word the same as yours. I am second generation born and raised in Kenya too. Once I saw the tusks, I knew we were in for a treat. Ditto on the pronounciation. Thank you for covering this topic... busy looking for a 100 pound gem ;)
Always wanted to go there but these days afraid to travel anywhere!😢
I've never been either, but would love to go one day.
Hi pete when you anychance can you do some more content on Victorian line engraved and surface printed . I've got a big album with lots of Victorian stamps in front early with Maltese cross to later issues . I'm struggling to gauge prices or understand how to start working through the collection. I'm a coin man and dont do stamps but have had these given in with my latest deal . Could the 100 stamp be used for companies for delivery of good precious. Metals or food stock ?
My favourite area of stamp collecting but also a huge task. There is so much to look out for. The Stanley Gibbon's specialist victorian catalogue is a great starting point.
Thanks pete

I actually like the set of threes as they look nice altogether and fits well with my stamp stock book, no protruding stamps. Thank you so much for your informative videos.
Everyone has their own way of collecting. I definitely think that stamps look better on groups of more than one. Whole sheets is maybe a step too far though 😃
Interesting that you live in Spain, I loved my time there. Civil war stamps, as you say, are a very interesting avenue to explore but where do you start? Are there any good reference books on the subject?
I don't know of reference books in English but I suspect they exist. Edifil (the Spanish equivalent of Stanley Gibbons) have published a set of 4 specialist catalogues covering the civil war period but they will be in Spanish and are quite expensive.
I agree with the artists series ... as a kid, I found those to be a great set and today own all of them. Thanks for sharing ... you skirted the topic of the Goya nude (probably a wise decision) ;)
Glad you liked the video. It wasn't a conscious decision to omit the Goya nude, there was so much to include I couldn't fit everything in.
@@ourdadsstamps Glad you make these, regardless. A great resource for all of us novices :)
Excellent episode and excellent concise review of Spain's stamps. The newer stamps you showed right at the start of the video are absolutely beautiful. They were immediately added to my "I want!" list. Thanks for the video, Pete!!!!!
Yes I liked them too. Thanks for your comments, glad you enjoyed the video.
I actually really like the explorers and colonizers issues, they are an attractive design to me. To each their own😉. And you have now got me wanting to collect Spanish stamps; I really have to stop watching CZcams videos😆
ha ha, that wasn't my intention but I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Great episode, thanks for sharing!
Nice summary, thanks Pete!
Fascinating video! I collect Spanish stamps (I lived there for fifteen years). The artist series are superb, but aren't they all? The 'tourist' series are works of art in themselves. My only wish is that the Gibbons catalogues are not as helpful as they could be! I'm still struggling struggling to get stamps from my stockbook into the album.
Thanks for your comments. I'm currently recording a new video about Spanish stamps which should be out in a few days. I agree, the various series produced in the 60s are very collectable .
@@ourdadsstamps I shall look forward to that!
Samuel West has aged a lot!
Excellent overview woven together with great stories. Thank you.
Very nice to see these stamps. I agree regarding the albums. They are pricey and offer virtually no flexibility to display stamps how you like. I’m currently displaying my GB collection in stock books, with printed labels and additional information as required. Maybe one day I’ll move onto plain pages with mounts, but I quite like how it looks now.
Collector of postal history here, I'm currently working my way through a collection of GB free franks. I would estimate it at around 2000 items from 1704 through to 1840. I think by the end I'll have enough data to write my own book!
That sounds like a lot of work, but a lot of fun. Maybe you could do a video for CZcams about it.
What is your preferred method to display your stamps?
Thanks for your question. For my own collection I use Hawid mounts on black pages. This video shows part of my Maltese collection. czcams.com/video/Z1LBmXuMsQk/video.html . For the remaining stamps I have I use various stock books.
I have been looking for the Cuban invert for years they do not come up often . :(
All I have is a copy of the monkey one but was well done.
Have you heard anything more about buying shares of this stamp ? I read somewhere they were floating the idea of buying shares of it .personally I never saw the attraction but I’d throw in 130.00 just because of the popularity of it.i think that was what they said it would be.
Yes, I have bought one, £100. I don't know if they sold them all on the end
Thank you for the interesting video. I enjoyed to see some Gibraltar stamps, and I really liked you giving some general information about albums, stamp prices etc. throughout the video. Thank you!
Thanks for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
