I'm so into your blue . 💙 thank you for program's
Your very welcome! Glad to have helped! 🖖🏽👽
To be absolutely clear about the full procedure. Bring water to a boil. Dump your brown rice in Should I wait fo the water to start boiling again to start the 8 min or it start as soon as I add the rice in?
No 8 minute timer starts as soon as the rice hits the water. Constantly stirring to prevent sticking. Hopefully that helps you out!
x2 speed save your time without loosing a quality
Im sure you know by now, but dont put your hands in between the flowhood and your work.
Do u wash ur corn after u hydrate it?
Nah, I only rise off beforehand. I'll drop them in a metal strainer and rise right before I drop them in the boiling water. Hope that helps! 🖖🏽👽
My dumbass thought that was a mushroom growing in that thing 😂
Yur AMAZING!!!🫡👑
Hell yeah this dope bub great video that's one of my other favorite hobbies is watching the reptile videos and all that while working with reptiles in general but you know I watch a lot of the videos
Do you flip the lid on the unmodified lid during pressure cooking? or during colonisation? cheers
Yes, flip the lid for unmodified, especially while pressure cooking. We don't want the lid to completely seal. We need just a slight crack for air exchange. Hopefully that helps. Join My Discord Server for more details and information on future grows. discord.com/invite/q6KpetHEJx 🖖🏽👽
Really nice , what is this strain ?
A tip, use way less water in your pressure cooker. Use the manufacturers recommended amount. Usually around 2 quarts. It's actually better to have the jars above the water line. The way the sterilization works, is by steam and pressure. The steam and pressure gets hotter than the water. So anything directly in the water is not sterilizing at the same temps or possibly not sterilizing properly at all. The steam and pressure can get up to about 250 degrees. That's why 15 psi is used. At 15 psi, the temps are about the 250 degrees needed for sterilization. Boiling water doesn't get nearly that high. So if you run into contamination issues or percentages, you may want to look into a rack for the pressure cooker and less water. Great video though!
I recently lost a bunch of bags to thousands of tiny white mites. (fungus mites?) If you ever see even one of those destroy the equipment immediately! Bleaching and trying to save to your things will only ensure there are double the amount the next day
Hello, I recently had a stalled grow and I’m not really sure why but I read that it could be caused by conditions being too dry and low humidity because I wasn’t seeing any condensation on the side of the grow bag. In either case, I scraped off the top layer of the cake carefully and then soaked it for around 12 hours. In addition, I added a casing layer of coco based on some research. Now I’m uncertain how to proceed because I see evidence of good humidity on the side of the grow bag but do I need to mist the casing layer also periodically because that is dry. Also, how long till pins start showing up through the casing because I don’t think the mycelium will colonize it? Do I need to wait for fresh air exchange even with the casing layer until I see pins coming through, or should I be airing it out? Thanks so much 🙏
Hey, fellow first time grower here. I'm finding myself in the same position. So, from what I've read, it's a bit of a mixed message of when to mist and when to increase fresh air exchange. The main message I've taken away is that the longer it's allowed to colonize, the better and misting isn't always necessary but usually is dependent on ones own environment and the specific substrates hydration levels. In some sources and videos, they mist their coir when they spawn to bulk and case. Some videos they spawn to bulk and leave it to colonize w out misting. They both work fine in the end with maybe a little variation in speed with pinning/fruiting, but results all the same. Some videos introduce fruiting conditions when the top layer or (false/pseudo) casing layer is almost fully colonized, others when the top layer is fully colonized or (in other words) completely covered with mycelium, and others wait long enough for the surface to become covered with hyphal knots/pins. Again, in the end, the results are the same with some variation in the speed of growth and a bit of risk of contamination in the case of introducing fruiting conditions when the top layer isn't full coverd with mycelium but these cases still fully spawns without contam. I guess it really depends on one's own patience and how careful they'd like to be in preventing contamination. In the simplest form- spawn to bulk with a pseudo casing layer, allow to become fully colonized or almost fully colonized, mist once to create small dots of water on the surface, fan lightly, and then cover again with increase fae compared to when "sealed" while colonizing. Watch the container closely and and make sure there's always a 'microclimate' present by characteristics such as condensation on the sides of the bin. Some people say it's fine to mist (from a safe distance) all the way to full fruits, some people say to not directly mist, but both seem to be reliable.
It's been about two weeks since you commented. Have you seen any results? Should have fruiting to some extent. I tried growing APE with BRF vermiculite cakes with a crappy verm coating when putting into fruiting conditions that completely stalled. Attempted to scratch away the outer layer of mycelium with a fork and resoak and coat but still to not prevail. I believe it had to do with the temperature in the room I was trying to Fruit in given it was winter and the floors would get so cold that it would hurt your feet to stand on it for too long. Did everything else right with misting, allowing FAE, and using perlite to maintain humidity. In the end, the cakes started shrinking and bluing after leaving in fruiting conditions for more than a month. There were way too many variables that could've affected the grow. One of the biggest factors I feel was the temperature or sterility as the entire colonization process was painfully slow- taking well over a month, almost 2, to fully colonize the cakes which is a telltale sign of the mycelium struggling. But there were no signs of contamination, which led me to believe it had to do with the environmental side of things. Granted, though, APEs are known to be notoriously difficult to grow in general, being very temperamental, and not known to enjoy fruiting from cakes.
Totally didn't answer a few of your questions. After spawning to bulk, it should take 10-20 days to fully colonize and become covered in primordia (pins). After introducing fruiting conditions, you should see pinning (if there weren't any before) within 3 to 7 days and some taking longer up to 10 days. Should have good-sized fruiting bodies within another 7-10 days after pinning. In total, after introducing fruting conditions, one should have a full flush within or just over about 20 days or so and some cases taking up to a month at most. It varies widely depending on species, strain, and genetics. I've heard that golden teacher and Z strain, amongst others, are very fast growing and can produce a flush after FCs in 7-10 days.
@@rjennings0142 no go, that thing stalled and no matter what I tried it didn’t pin. After a while I ended up tossing it because I lost patience.
@@rjennings0142 yea it ain’t easy though these guys make it look effortless. I’ve succeed in the past growing from scratch but this time around I got lazy and bought a ready colonized kit where you only need to soak it for 10 hours. Im going to try again.
Great work my dude😮
Thanks, bro! I'll be posting the full build video soon. Hopefully, you guys will enjoy something different from the channel. 🖖🏽👽
Trying to break up colonized brown rice in a mason jar made me think I had an invisible contam lolol. Definitely hard to break n shake
An absolute headache, I know exactly what you mean. 🖖🏽👽
I tried watchin the uncle bens first try but the annoying noise you played stopped me. Ya can't comment so wth!!!
Thanks for the comment, I uploaded another video without that annoying noise. Check that video. Thanks for letting me know.. 🖖🏽👽
So is this just straight up popcorn kernels creating mold overtime? Do you have to mix this popcorn with anything? Then, is the next step putting it in substrate? When do I inject the spores and my liquid culture into my jar? I’m a noob, thx 🙏🏻
Yes, to all of the above. This is corn only. the next step is substrate. Hope that helps. Join my Discord for more help. Great community with a ton of dope people. 🖖🏽👽 discord.com/invite/q6KpetHEJx
Great tutorial. How i turn on the wifi?
Sorry, this is not the wifi version of the INKBIRD ITC-308. Thank you for watching! 🖖🏽👽
What is a "flush"
A "flush" is pretty much the batch you grow at a time. The first flush (batch) gets harvested, and we prep for the 2nd batch/flush.. Hope that helps! Great question, BTW. 🖖🏽👽
@@EazyBlueThumb Thank you, this was helpful! [:
What was your yield on your boomr box grow? Comments were off but I was curious.
Boomr Box Grow was probably my best yield so far at a little over 3.1/2oz. I try not to put the total for obvious reasons, lol. But yeah, that was an excellent grow and harvest. Thanks for tuning in! 🖖🏽👽
@EazyBlueThumb awesome man thanks so much. I just got one and was trying to get an idea of their capabilities
That poo substrate works wonders. I think that was the true mvp of the grow.. The genetics, yes but that was multi spore.
@@EazyBlueThumb that's the route I'm going. Thanks a bunch
I noticed when I was using brown rice whenever I do my break and shake I would notice a bunch of blue bruising on my mycelium. Do you have that happen to you too?
Yeah, most definitely! It happens all the time completely normal. Green, grey, black, those are usually contamination. Hope that helps! 🖖🏽👽
Bad ass flow hood 3x3?
Thanks, it's a 4x2. Bought it from FB marketplace. Works like a charm.🖖🏽👽
Some of my best harvests were from tubs that I had forgotten about during hot summer days. Go figure
Oh, most definitely! Set and forget.. 🖖🏽👽
i tried this and shook the jars right after pc and it seemed almost too hydrated, now a couple days later it seems dry, is that normal or should the rice be like sticky when you innoculate?(i prepped the rice 2 days ago and will be storing them a couple more days before i have my inoculant)
I try to shake up the jars as often as possible after I run them thru the PC. When cooling lay them sideways, that helps too.
I thought we did the casing layer at the time of spawn to bulk
That's a pseudo casing layer when you do it at spawn to bulk... real casing is once it's colonized spawn to bulk
Yes, thank you, @mattb6646 🖖🏽👽
Lol so much misleading info and wanna be growers nowadays that’s crazy
I actually did my very first clone 3 days ago
Nice, have you seen any mycelium spreading?! 🖖🏽👽
@@EazyBlueThumb yes but there's a round dot above my clone and I'm not sure what it is but I see mycelium starting to spread
Why no final dry weights in your vids?
I don't know, I just don't want all of that information out there, lol. You can kinda get an idea if you know how mushrooms dry. It was a few half gallon jars.. I appreciate the comment. It definitely made me laugh. I appreciate it. 🖖🏽👽
Watching a 6-qt cake with tric atm. Pins poppin; tric is losing. Live and learn.
What will happen if you harvested and ate some of em ?
apparently nothing... the tric is harmless with consumption, the problem is how do you know for certain... thats the issue
@@chrislehmann6240 Yh lol I just got contam and didn’t risk it just gotta be patient and inoculate surplus’s bags lol
Air purifer in your grow space is very useful, if you can swing the 70-100$
@@mattb6646 yea I’m doing a air purifier In my Martha! My boomer inflatable just got a hole in it yesterday I had taken one out the bag had it in there and moved it to a dub tub shoebox! I’m hopeful that this bubble wrap tek will work if not I’ll just take what I get
Yeahh... I know I have too.. It's just sitting there like a giant paper weight.
Bruh has a Flow Hood He Can Swing 100$
@montuckyhomegrown 🤣🤣🤣 that was hilarious, lol. 🖖🏽👽
@@montuckyhomegrown wasn't really directed at him personally just anyone reading it
Yea that sucks! I’ve been using NS all in ones and I never get a pin set on the top. fruits always come off the edges so I’m trying some bubble wrap to see if it will start pinning.
Somewhat the nature of bags, try to get the plastic snug around the outside of the cake, hold it at the top and shake it down a bit. Honestly I suggest just moving to cake into a box, small plastic tub or boomer shroomer has a really nice inflatable tub for $20
you'll find unless it green it will continue into fruits green is death you look like you know wht your doing others may want to leave it and still get a small yield
this is not mycology this is closer to agriculture
What flow hood are you using?
It doesn't say. It's a used Fan Filter Unit (FFU) from FB marketplace.
What size bag is that?
The grain bag is the 5x bag. The spawn bag is the 10x bag. Check olympusmyco.com. Hopefully, that helps! 🖖🏽👽
I lay vermiculite hot into Rubbermaid. Wait a day then add cake. Wait another day after cooking second batch of vermiculite then case w that. Burp whenever 💫👏👏👏
Thanks. 👊🏽

Try to grow straight from the brown rice bag…let the mycelium do it’s thang and then open the bag and put it in fruiting conditions
Get a massage gun and hit the jar, carefully, with that!
Awesome video! The only thing I did different was soaked the grain before the boil, my jars look great following ur guidelines. Waiting for the cool down and injecting me tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well great video.
Good Luck 💪🏽 👽

The popcorn series is in the works don't worry 😁
could i program this to turn off and on my pool pump based on temp of the water?
I honestly don't see why this wouldn't work. I would just do a test run to make sure everything turns on and off when it need to.
