I told Carl before he could go on tour he needed at least 8 more songs, nobody was going to buy Tickets to a concert for a guy who only has two songs about Karate. Carl didn't THINK about logistical things like that, he just wanted to go on a road tour, so I told him: "Give me a Week and I'll see what I can flush out." A week later I told him If he wanted to tour the Country, then he was going to have to be an opener,... again, he didn't have enough material to Headline, So Erol Goldstein did me a favor and got Carl 6 opening spots for "Earth Wind and Fire," the last 6 dates on their tour, starting in Chicago and going back down to Dallas Texas. He would open in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, then double back through to Missouri, Kansas, and finally Texas. Carl wasn't happy at first because he wanted an East Coast run, and I had to tell him: "We'll get you through the East Coast later... first, you need to prove that you can open for probably the Biggest African American Band around at the time." Carl DID well... each date he played his two Karate Songs and was well received by the Audience. A year later he was with a different management firm, so somebody else had to get him through the East Coast as it wasn't our responsibility any more.
I have the streetwave copy signed by some of the crew, similarly with UK electro LP signed by some of the crew, thanks to JoJo Mavrakis for getting that done for me 😊

Still living the ska way in 2024
And today: "Frank Carter replacing Johnny Rotten and Glenn's back at playing bass, cook and jones calling themselves 'the sex pistols'." Come on, there's no Sex Pistols without John and Sid. Ofc, I'd have no problem with the four first members of the band joining since Sid is no longer among us but replacing John who's still alive for this Carter whatever and still call them "the sex pistols".... The nerves 🖕
legendary ska group, saw them a few years ago and they still smashed it and Buster looked so much healthier too thankfully ❤

I remember when bad manners first hit the uk charts in 1980 I was just 19 years old. Me and 2 mates used to jump in my car on a friday night armed with our little brown envelope containing our weeks wage of £96 after stopages and head to Yarmouth for the weekend and hit the clubs, dexys midnight runners had just arrived on the scene aswell ,and all you heard in every pub n club was bad manners , dexy's Ub40 , specials, and madness..great times 😁 We used to blow all our wages and kip in the car ,unless we pulled a few birds who had decent accomodation 🤣 Happy days
Love it 😄
