Unfortunately, this project has been put on long term hold. It turns out the tracks suffer zinc rot and are no longer usable. If anyone knows where I can lay hands on a set of 1/6 scale Panther tracks w/sprockets, now would be the time to say so! :)

Hello, how much did it cost you for the tank ?
Looks so real! Excellent job!
Very cool
U been in wpl for a long time❤😊
Too cool dude, gonna have to get one!!! Thanks for letting us know and posting!!
Are you missing a magazine? Mine came with four.
I've got them all and more since I also have the quad version
Gary, I think the Dragon 30cal is very accurate. I bought one for my 21st Century M5 Stuart, and it's much better than what came with it.
Wow. Excellent model, and in 1/6th? Cool. Thanks Gary.
Great video.
Nice little monster, do you have any updates on the 1/6 Panzer 2 ?
Sorry for the delay. The tracks that came with the kit aren't good for RC and are intended to be glued. Not sure why this one is like that, Lorenzo Jalbert did one but his tracks had metal pins, and I think the kit came like that, but I could be wrong about that part. Until I can locate suitable tracks the project is on hold. Trying to get the Mercedes 540K upgraded, but real life keeps getting in the way.
@garyhoff2178 yeah, the kit form has those static tracks, the one I've got came already assembled with full pin tracks and are workable, however they're still not suited for rc One idea is to reinforce them with metal strips like some guy did on CZcams, or get the metal ones from Giesswerk in Germany, but they cost about 1200€ without shipping and taxes My way of doing it, it's probably gonna be by somehow inserting a bicycle chain through the tracks, masking it and reinforce the tracks with steel strips, only keeping the plastic part for design purposes, that when I will somehow have the patience and time for such a crazy endeavour The stock ones will simply not do, not after adding motors, batteries and whatnot, first contact with grass and dirt will definitely snap them
Need a panther ausf g and king tiger
Got both. What you see here is a small sample of the collection, and you should see the 1/6 scale stuff.
Are you going to make another "So you are going to buy an rc tank, eh?" 2024 edition, just wondering...
There haven't really been many changes since the last one, but if I get a hold of the HL 7.1 electronics I might due an update then.
Wondering how a HL M41 Bulldog would look on this hauler? Could make modifications to raise the deck.
Wow. 1/6th. Great project. Thanks Gary.
thanks for sharing. really like your videos. I can't find a ww2 rc willys jeep in 1/16 scale. Do you have a video of you converting danbury mint jeep to rc?
I've never converted one of those, and don't know of any instructional videos from anyone who has, but I've heard it's ben done using a Losi 1/24 rc crawler for running gear. There are 1/12 scale rtr rc jeeps, but as far as I know no one has come out with an rc jeep in 1/16. I think WCP Models was working on one, but it might be a custom order deal, so I would suggest you contact them. Go back to my home page and scroll down and there's a link to WCP Models, where you can use the "contact us" button.
Cool Gary! Those were made by Alex Shlakter in Russia in early 2000's. He pass away in 2009 or so. Those are still sold by Mark1 tanks in UK. Should fix up nicely!
Thanks, Bob, and sorry for the delay. I don't always keep up like I should, but I always really appreciate input from viewers.
I dig it!!!! Just subscribed 👍👍👍
That will be a Job. It's in the Right Hands.
Nice how much did it cost you?
This vehicle is damned cool looking. As an RC it would definitely make an impression. Way cool. Thanks for the video Gary.
Nice, I'm doing a 1/16 Trumpeter one, good luck with selling the kit I would've jumped on it, but I live in Eastern Europe, so the taxes and shipping probably gonna cost more than the kit itself, nowadays international fees are ridiculous for us europeans
Has anyone ever had any luck upgrading the airsoft units to get more range/flatter trajectories? These are essentially low priced airsoft guns from the early 2000s refited for tanks, and airsoft has advanced in leaps and bounce since then. Im working to make the bb tanks more viable for playing with eachother
I've seen them made stronger two different ways, a couple of guys have gone over to a CO2 system, and some guys have simply installed stronger springs. Most people won't shoot at other tanks. We put a lot of time and money into these tanks and we don't want the little bits being knocked off by an airsoft BB or a paintball. There's also a trick for popping balloons, you take a Q-tip with a wooden shaft, cut off one swab and sharpen it in a pencil sharpener and then load them one at a time into the barrel. I've got a video of that trick around here somewhere. A little bit of baby powder in the end of the barrel also gives a pretty cool effect.
I still have one of the field of armour tanks 250s to build. It has the metal body.
very nice
Cool, love this bro. Just bought some track and adding an oval of this stuff to an around the room style 1/32 scale train layout. Been experimenting with making the ghost cars drive slow as mine is more of an integrated display than a race. Have bought two 1/32 scale cars and one 1/24 scale car, the details are awesome, good stuff here from Carrera, enjoy!
First you need the self-centering lever and the Spring. If you already have those, then the procedure is the same as for the i6, and i'm pretty sure I have a video of that around here somewhere.
hello Gary and happy Holidays to you, your videos are great for tips and tricks , i need your help in self centering my Fkysky FS-i10 radio that you also own one which you have modify to make the throttle stick self centered and would really appreciate your kind and great help in step by step procedure so i can use it to my tanks too. Thank you and hope to hear from you. God bless and let's continue enjoying RC tanks.
Gary, nice build on the Hetzer, I just came across one from an estate sale, I wanted to get your opinion on a potential build or sale. Give me a shout if you have a few minutes to chat.
I sent you an email yesterday. Maybe check your spam folder.
Still alive Gary! Will check into RCU. Thanks for the vids.
Been awhile but hopefully you can help, pretty sure my battery is not charging now, I replaced it so I assume it's the charger. How does the 3S Lipo you mention hook up with the connectors it comes with? Or did you change that so it could run off of it?
I changed the connector on the tank to an XT-60. Like this usa.banggood.com/10-Pair-XT60H-Bullet-Connector-Plug-Upgrated-of-XT60-Sheath-Female-and-Male-Gold-Plated-for-RC-Parts-p-1979566.html?cur_warehouse=CN&rmmds=search Most lipos from hobbyking come with these so you just need to swap the one on the tank.
nice video gary, where did you purchase those 6mm paintball pellets? thank you and God bless.
mcsus.com/products/6mm-airsoft-paintballs-bag-of-1000-blue
Just put a 3 or 4 inch spacer in the trailer, where the joint is.
Very nice, Gary, yes, we all have more projects than we'll ever get to!!!!😂
Bro, can Henglong IR battle with Taigen? I installed a servo in my Taigen Tiger 1 for elevation. The airsoft is very week, hardly worth it, maybe I can mod it.
not as far as I know
You need a cckw WW2 cab for your toy truck s 9:03
If you look close, at 5:20, all the way to the left is an RC 3D printed CCKW, and if you look around the channel you'll find video on that one, too. I could print another cab and use that, but I like the look of the Q-60 cab better. It strongly resembles a "38 Chevy truck cab.
@@garyhoff2178 that's great, I just built two cabs. One open top and one hard top out of plastruct plastic hand made , for my wpl,s .. Your 3d printed one looks great.
I have recently got one of these and it's amazing
Gary, i have dropped you an email
I haven't received anything.
@@garyhoff2178 have you any boards left, I have tried emailing using your email
Gary, you've done some great work with all your RC Vehicles. Why don't you try to put all your videos in playlists? You could have a playlist for each Tank or Soft Skin vehicles as you work on them and do upgrades to them. You could also have playlists for each complete build from start to finish. I started to create some playlist of my videos, but I have a lot more to organize all of them. It's just an idea, but it makes it easier for someone who wants to see all your videos of a specific vehicle without having to scroll through all your videos to watch the next part. Thanks for sharing all your work here for everyone to see.
For me youtube is just a third party host so I can post the videos at RCU. I seem to recall you're a member there so you may have seen my build threads. I try to get folks to visit RCU whenever I can (promoting the hobby, dontcha know) so I want people to see the videos there. I suppose I could make them unlisted here but it seems like more potential RC Tankers will see them if they're here as well, but RCU is the main focus. For anyone that's not already a member, here's a link to RCU www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-tanks-369/ so if you want to see cool RC tanks that's the place to be. There are guys there that make me look like an amateur, so if you're into RC tanks you should check it out. My screen names there are Max-U52 and Crius. Why I have two screen names is a story for another time :)
These are impressive
Which one would fit a 1/18 figure better? For a figure like joytoy
I usually use 1/18th figures with my 1/16th scale models.
I just bought my track. I haven't set it up yet. I will be following along with you. 👍🏁
Sorry to bother you, sir. I am very new to this. I just want to know what is the scale of the r c tanks that are on your coffee table... I do a lot of action figure photography and I collect 1/12 (6inch give or take ) gi joe classified action figures Although I got into this hobby to actually drive the tanks😅 I would actually love to take photos with the action figures I don't actually need them to fit inside Just be somewhat in scale to pose with.. Thanks in advance for any reply have a great day sir.
They're 1/16, but there are a lot of 1/6 scale vehicles (Same as GI Joe 12" action figures), they're just much more expensive. These two jeeps are 1/6 scale, and I also have an M3 scoutcar in the works, just have to find the time. czcams.com/video/b-gTPyNGO9U/video.html
What formula 1 car works on the digital 132 track?
Most of them. If it doesn't say "carrera 132 digital" you'll have to install the decoder, but that's not hard and then you can run on carrera digital track.
Can you provide links for tanks or IR system?

Where can I buy these boards?
From me. I only have three pro boards left, but I do have plenty of the TPA 15 watt amps to go with them. You can email me at garyhu52@gmail.com
This is badass 👍
Absolutely great and informative video gary. I have a Heng Long M1a2 Abrams, professional edition 7.0. I have to say, I love it. I switched the tracks to mato metal with a drive sprocket. Can’t keep the tracks from slipping off, but I think it’s because I drive the tank too hard. Been thinking about getting a sherman, this video helped me a lot to find my next sherman rc tank! Thank you Gary, hope to see more amazing rc content!
Nice model, who made it? where can buy this
It's from WCP Models, and I don't know if he has any left. They're not cheap, though, 600 pounds for the unpainted model. wcpmodels.com/
Just orderef one of these Gary. No one is doing the 251's in this scale. Just found your video so I've no idea what you've done with yours
Very interesting! Thx
