Awesome thorough review! I think it would sound good following my MBD2 and am on the lookout for nearly this exact type of effect for that spot, but that internal volume trim pot might be a deal killer. Of all the controls to hide, why volume? And with there only being three controls, why hide any of them at all?

Definitely a great upgrade from the older version. Sounds pretty cool on bass and guitar!

I bought the Kaleidoscope reverb from JPTRFX and while it sounded pretty good,it quit on me shortly after a bit of playing. I contacted jptrfx and it took a while but finally I was sent a new unit . Guess what? That one also crapped out. So I contacted them again and again,but I've never gotten a reply, so now I have a $250 paper weight.

Yeah the Jive does not do as well with pedals in front of it. I use it before my Morning Glory and it really gives the MG a nice kick. The other way around just muddled the MG. But the Jive is my always on and I don’t throw any of the diode switches on. I set it just a tich below breakup and it sounds amazing.

Great review! Hard to justify another overdrive with so many options in the market, yet this one seems a bit more unique. May have to check it out! Personally, as a bass player, I’ve stopped trying to find “bass pedals” and just got an EHX switchblade to mix clean signal with guitar effects. I get more flexibility and can try around different things

@Theoandhispedals, did you try to inject a pink noise signal as you usually do with pedals to "see" how does the transformers affects the frequency response?
