Never hurts to dream Wes!
Exactly 🤣
Adorable!!! I remember when my girls were that young!!
I drops.
lol
Agreed!
Lol, they all break down . Ask Cole the corn star about his red planter tractor .
Awesome having friends willing to lend their support and equipment to help. Thanks for taking us along.
Go big Red
Bite is an understatement. They hurt
Man you look good in that RED tractor. I bet the 1206 is smiling at you 😂
have you ever thought about buying a new J&M Seed Tenders?
We would love to have a new j&m 451 seed tender! Just not in the budget right now
@@WesFarms I see 😁
Something to be said about this video....Red for the win! Just kidding they all have problems
Your little one is ready to drive.
You look great in a RED tractor!! Glad you had a friend who helped y’all out.
1) Which is worse: you driving a red tractor or Maria driving a VW? I mean really. :-) 2) Your gait and posture look more like your dad all the time. 3) Never underestimate the power of a milkshake to make life better when everything goes to hell -- good on Maria for bringing you one.
The shake helped
It’s a blessing to have good neighbors. Blaine is so cute. Thanks for sharing. Good luck with planting beans!
Where’s the “M”?
Every now and then ya gotta rip apart that compaction.
Agree to disagree
@@WesFarms compaction will cause the roots to branch out shallow and beans and corn won't have a good stand and they miss out on the full benefits of the food that goes deep in the ground. We do no till and we found this out the hard way.
Everybody’s soil is different. We farm a lot of sand so we don’t have to worry about compaction as much.
Shorts and no hat, eye candy for the female fan base.😎 Good to see you goingish again!
But the USDA says everything is great 🤦♂️ I have a 2 box strobel tender that works just like that one. Sometimes simpler is better. Never had a problem with it
I hope get your planting done 🤞
1) Do you have fresh dog (the brown one at the beginning)? 2) What does your tattoo say (or is it just grease on your arm)? 3) How many generations has your family been farming on that land? 4) Thanks as always for taking time to make an enjoyable video...
The brown dog is dad’s dog Roxy, he has had her for about 3 years I think. My tattoo says “love you ten” it’s a family phrase we tell eachother and our boys. The land we currently farm goes back at least 3 to 4 generations, but farming is in my heritage much further back than that. Thank you for watching!
Good video as always. I live in north central Oklahoma and we started cutting wheat last week. If farming was easy there would be a lot more people doing it!!
Thanks for the update
Classic 🤣
Spent many of hours on the seat of a 1206. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
Maintenance requires money
My old chisel still going 🎉😊
Yep dat me 🙄
If I had a choice between one of these old rigs and a brand new machine, I'd take the old one every time. I can afford a new truck, but instead I drive an '84 C20, it's got a 350 in it, parts are everywhere and cheap. I always get a thumbs up driving into town because it's the exception to the norm. There's something to these old analog time pieces, good luck and thanks for rescuing this rig.
cool clip, keep them coming
Good luck seeding your 2024 crops Westin and your Dad
Great video Westin
@13:15 when a ratchet strap comes handy
Always enjoy your videos. How many acres of the total you plant are done as of now?
We have 380 acres left to plant today.
How fast are you planting beans
6.5-7mph
Seems like you need a phd to be a farmer 😯 (but i’m just a Dutch city man)
We have to know a little about everything that’s for sure!
@@WesFarms …understatement 2.0
That is gorgeous This is the first spring I actually have some cover crop growth ahead of the row crops A lot of years I look at you guys down south and think man that is so nice because we have green fuzz. LOL I found with covers that the Planters have no problem making the slot and putting the seed in the ground. It actually works really well but closing the slot is the challenge
I have a question for you? why does farmers buy two planners??? I know a lot farners use Air Drills and not use old Drills???
Some bigger farms need multiple planters. There has been a lot of research the past few years that shows planting soybeans earlier than corn results in much higher yields so many farmers have one rig for corn and one rig for beans. We like the air seeder for its simplicity and speed. Planters are more precise but seeders and drills get the job done. It’s all personal preference.
@@WesFarms ok thanks for asking my question 😉
For planting in the green may I suggest watching griggs farm on CZcams. They are based here in Tennessee, but plant in cover crops. Might give y'all some ideas for planting in cover crops. Have a great weekend.
Thanks I’ll check them out!
😍😍😁
Looking good Wes
In the Netherlands are we also late. It is wet since october and begin of may we have 2 weeks that we on the field. And the other days it was to wet but we need to do the work on the field. Not ideal but when we are waiting for good conditions we con do only the half of the work.
The whole U.S. is fighting wet weather as well. Good luck to you and I hope you can get all the work done!
i am amazed how that planted so easy into that Rye , really thought it would block the planter but you did it know problem at all , the weather been so wet here in the UK too but its drying up now I am looking at doing my first Cut Silage in the next week I hope , good luck with your planting Wes , hopefully it goes well from now on
Good luck to you too! It seems like it does better planting into rye 🤷♂️
Thanks for sort video
I know it’s been awhile, but what happend to the peterbilt you guys were putting back together?
It’s on hold until we have time for it! Hopefully this winter 😬
I’m glad to see more people working on older vehicles getting them running. You won’t see stuff like this 20 or 30 years from now because these cars nowadays are disposable.
Might want to use the new shop to do some preventative maintenance.
