Knocking about somewhere in the world...
Ultimate VEGETARIAN Food Tour of The Philippines 🇵🇭
Finding vegetarian food in the Philippines isn't as straightforward as it may seem to be. We often found ourselves wandering around going from restaurant to restaurant where the only options were either to eat plain rice or nothing at all. This is the reality of the Philippines as they consume a lot of meat in their cuisine.
Fear not though as we have compiled a list for you of our favourite vegetarian restaurants and spots that we visited in our two months backpacking in the Philippines. The locations in this video include Manila, Donsol, Siargao, Moalboal, Siquijor, Bohol, Coron, El Nido, Port Barton and Puerto Princesa. Some places had way more options than others, so we have given each restaurant a food rating out of 5 stars to show you which ones you MUST visit.
I hope you find the ultimate vegetarian food tour useful and that it gives you some ideas of where you can eat during your time in the Philippines. It's a beautiful country that needs to be enjoyed, so if this makes the trip easier for one person, then this video is worthwhile in my eyes.
There are of course other restaurants to visit, so if you know anything better then please post it in the comments! For other vegetarian restaurants, I'd also recommend using HappyCow. This website shows you which vegetarian and vegan options are available in your area. Here's the link for the website: www.happycow.net/

Port Barton typically is a place to stopover for a day or two on the way to El Nido or Puerto Princesa. After being in El Nido for 4 days, we were craving a change of pace, not because we didn't like it, but because it is was full to the brim with tourists. Enter the most underrated destination in the Philippines, Port Barton. After taking a 4 hour van, we arrived to the small coastal town in P...

We arrived in El Nido on an island hopping tour for Coron and we couldn't be more excited to be back on dry land. This slice of paradise at the top of Palawan is famous for its incredible beaches, fun nightlife, and staggering limestone rock formations. We had 4 days to explore this destination and we were going to make the most of it. What somehow ended up on the menu though was Balut, AKA chi...

Although we're budget travellers, experiences like the Coron to El Nido Island Hopping Tour don't come around often. But this is why we travel cheaply and make sacrifices, so that we can afford luxuries like this every once in a while. So, with that in mind, we set out to find out if the Coron to El Nido Island Hopping Tour is worth it. Coron to El Nido isn't the only route as you can also take...

Hello and welcome to the beautiful municipality of Coron. This island hopping tour is one of the most famous things to do in the Philippines and we wanted to find a way to do it ourselves, rather than relying on a public tour. In this video, we will show you what we did to get our own private tour, how much it costs, and what the day looks like. It was a lot of fun and a place that I'd definite...

Wow...impressive vegetarian restaurants and food selections 💚 It’s so amazing to see how you ate everything...no waste! I’m jealous you’ve been to so many beautiful islands and experienced 5 ⭐️ vegetarian foods. Happy travels to you both and see you back here 🇵🇭
What is the difference of vegetarian from a vegan?
Filo vegetarian food is so underrated but soo delish right?
Try to go to carenderia you can find so many variety of vegetables to eat. Problems of high end restaurant they don't highlight vegetable foods more on meaty side.
They did go2 a couple of carinderias. Most of the food choices at carinderias are not hot. Better when it’s freshly cooked.
you should watch eight miles from home couple with a kid who also a vegetarian ...where they dine veg cousine in manila...stay safe ....:)
@@JM-to6we I will give it a watch, thanks for the suggestion
you say you're vegan yet you ordered chicken, sisig, ???? why cLaim to be vegan !!! 😡
That was tofu sisig 😂😂

Great stuff
Do vegetarian eat animal crackers?

thanks for loving my country 🎉
I dont know why you are not blowing up yet. Your content is good. Thank you for showing us all these vegan restaurants.
@@nelsonsevilleno thanks for the comment, I’m trying my best haha! Glad you enjoyed 😊
It's true there are not a lot of vegetarian dishes but Filipinos actually eat more vegetables than meat . Most dishes in the restaurants are meet but at a Filipino home it's more vegetables and fish
I agree. In our household, we mostly eat vegetable or fish-based Filipino food. The meat-based foods are mostly served during fiestas, birthdays, or weddings. I think that's the reason why our meat-based foods are so popular because we serve them on big occasions, and the vegetable ones are mostly served at home.
@@bangwi we got invited to eat food with some families in Moalboal and there were a lot of vegetarian options. You guys do love your fish too! Any recommendations for good local vegetarian dishes?
Wow nice video 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed! Was feeling hungry watching this lol
@@herewego2460 I felt hungry whilst I was making the video too…

WOW you’ve been to more islands in the 🇵🇭than I have 💚 Port Barton is beautiful! If you don’t mind me asking which one is your fav island? Take care and enjoy your travels 🏝️🙏
Thank you! I think my favourite island is Siargao, it is such a fun place and I loved trying out surfing 🏄♂️ how about you?
Aside from island hopping port Barton San Vicente has the longest white beach in the Philippines 14 kilometers long .
It’s a beautiful place 🏝️
Wow those crew look like a good chef and performers too❤
Yeah they were really great! Made the experience so much better for us
I think it’s worth it! It’s actually affordable compared to other tours in Asia, board and lodging included wow!
I don’t really do tours so I have no idea about other prices haha! But at least for me it felt expensive. Interesting to hear that it’s affordable, have you been on more expensive ones?
For foreigners that loves beaches and want to experience nature of the Philippines, this is actually worth it. And this usually one good scenario you can experience Filipino food that is prepared and cook properly. It's because some Filipino restaurant owners don't really put quality if we sell food at the City / town because it will raise prices. Just want to make it affordable for locals. For the beaches, you will have longer time to explore and also less crowds. So you soak that Nature less crowded feel which what western foreigners like.
Definitely a once in a lifetime trip for people, for the price it is worth it for the privacy and experience of having beaches to yourself in paradise
I love balut
Baluuuuuuttttt
SOME THINGS THAT NEED CORRECTION: .SABA Banana is different from PLANTAIN. SABA is more smaller and plump while plantain is elongated. Texture wise and bland taste is similar, when cooked and eaten unripened and sweet when ripe. .TORTANG TALONG is aubergine omelette, not aubergine cooked with "EGG ON TOP OF IT".
Thanks for the information, I didn’t know that it was called Saba!
the best part is tanduay boss?😅
We love Filipino Water 😂

I hope you get a chance to, it’s truly amazing 🏝️
Nice you explore the beach in the philippines island hopping, and snork CV ling.
i've been to el nido and im kinda shocked that they had you stay in these huts 😭
These were on the small islands near El Nido to be fair. There was no electricity in these places so everything was quite basic. Still very nice overall!
You haven’t done the most unique island tours yet. Hopefully it doesn’t get exposed
Oooo I wanna know what these are… but also, best to keep them secret so they don’t get overrun by tourists
Definitely worth it!
Way too much 18,000 Pesos especially for Foreigners. That's what happens when such a place becomes too commercialize. No way!
It is a shame that the local people are priced out of experiences like this. It’s so expensive…
