    045 assuming mode2 radio, rudder control goes on the LEFT stick.! elevator trim that is correct for gliding will not be correct for powered flight and vice versa. elevator trim that is correct for gliding will tend to cause climb when flying under power. elevator trim that is correct for powered flight will require a pilot to fly the elevator during gliding flight.

      I fly with the primary controls on the right stick, rudder elevator on three channels ailerons elevator on the right stick on four channel. It works for me. I'm well aware of the different trim settings between power and glide modes with vintage models. Climb like a monkey during the power phase, with a nice gentle glide with the engine on tickover

    The Fokker Triplane has always been a favourite of mine ever since I saw a Walter Musciano control line one flying around the school playground over sixty years ago! I would have said that yours was a Flair kit until you said that there were no numbers on any of the components. The middle wing of the real triplane had a cutaway where it met the fuselage to improve the pilot's downward visibilty. Flair's wing and yours is straight. I plan to build David Hurrell's 1/4 scale version over the winter. The plan is available from Sarik. His was powered by a Laser 120; mine will be powered by a Laser 160 V twin. I built the smaller Flair Baronette years ago and finished it in the colours of Hans Weiss, one of von Richtofen's flight leaders. I used oil-based glaze, also called scumble glaze and artist's colours to simulate the streaky paintwork of the original.

    • @Pete-tq6in
      @Pete-tq6in Před 14 dny

      The tailplane ribs can be made simply by scaling the centre rib shape down to match the tailplane chord at each rib station. That should get you close enough to what the original had.

    Do small aircraft fly using such servo's, by now? Or is it still push/pull bars and rockers at the corners? You'd say, if you do some redundancy, all planes could have computer network cables. RC is beautiful, the engineering challenge is exactly the same as in a plane with a pilot. I know somebody who built an RC tow plane, that has trims on everything you like. He say it flies great.

    • @robinbennett5994
      @robinbennett5994 Před 5 dny

      That ('rockers') is what he was talking about when he said the plans called for 'bell cranks'. Most people now use two servos because they're much cheaper than they used to be and the added redundancy might save the model if a servo fails. Plus you can trim them electronically or even use them as flaps as well as ailerons.
