Time to join the wings ( David Boddington kit )

  • At last time to put the wings together and set the dihedral. Cutting the wing ribs to accept the plywood braces. I did say it was a Ben Buckle kit it is in fact a David Boddington one,

    Well done. I think the most effective way to set the dihedral is to have the inner most rib at the proper angle. It is always good to have a measurement or block on the outside of the wing but its critical to place the block at the correct location as no not have a twist in the wing. I suppose the plans would call for the proper location for the block. Looking forward to more.

      The angle of the root rib in this case is set a 2°. The "wing tip" block location is not specified in this case (20mm)I chose to place it at the trailing edge.
