    I want to bike across Japan as a 'bucket list' idea. I am aware that Japan has some strict bicycle laws. What I would like to know is, is it better to bring my own touring bike from America to Japan or to rent to buy in Japan. And then, if I can bring my own bike, do I need to register it with the local Police; do I need to get a bike permit or license showing ownership? Then what exactly are the rules for foreign tourists who wish to tour Japan by bicycle; is there a group of riders, a club, a map of safe routes, camp sites, etc... if so, where can I obtain this info.

      I still maintain that the best ramen I’ve ever eaten was the one I cooked myself on a beach in Japan using my little stove and ti pot after we bought all the ingredients at a supermarket! It was definitely nice to be able to fall back on. But the amount of sushi and onigiri you can eat means we didn’t really need it. Not too sure on the cost savings - Japan is very cheap now if you have USD. ❤️ have an amazing trip!!

    • @JohnBr0
      @JohnBr0 Před 5 měsíci

      Yeah sorry! This was a day after it arrived and it poured with rain for a few days so I had hardly ridden it at this point. It’s devilishly quick and incredibly comfortable, I just don’t want to get off it. I did a RETUL bike fit before the purchase to make it all fit perfectly so it feels really snug all around. I don’t have too much to compare it too - I am coming from a Lynskey CX bike and it’s kinda like night and day as that guy weighs about 22lb. I’ve ridden a few allied road bikes and they felt a lot more aggressive and unforgiving. The enve bounces around on the bumps, but my position on the bike makes it a lot less of an issue and it’s less aggressive than most. I’ve knocked 16 seconds off my local park lap time in the last 2 weeks ❤
