So, in conclusion, Enzo Ferrari was also an idiot because he wanted Jarier for 1974, his boss Max Mosley another Englishman stopped Jarier from signing with Ferrari and Enzo took.... Lauda
😫 daddy he brake checked me 😩😫😭 😱red flag 🚩 red flag red red red red red red red red red red re….😮 oh wait .. it’s the fast idiot back in 1992 … nevermind 😟
Is this what we call the Red Bull ring now?
If they ever do a Nigel Mansell biopic, the only person I can see portraying him is Tom Hardy.
Hj fácil
James Hunt was alive and well here and 2 days later, gone....such a shame.
SCHUMACHER THE GOAT !!!
Except for Michael in a difficult way no one we see or hear in this Video is alive anymore... Rest in Peace
It's still hard to believe that just less than 48 hours later, he was gone...
He was truly one of the greatest of all time. Not a semi-god like Lauda and senna, but the impersonation of the best F1 ever: smoking before start, a truly gentleman playboy, the last Knight of the Death ❤
The politics of this aside, I just felt sad at the point James Hunt said about " Senna trying all he can to get into a Williams and it appears to be impossible. " And yet it did happen, but by then we had lost Hunt who didn't see it, and then of course we know what followed with Senna and Williams.
Schuhmacher best pilot for ever
I think we can put a few myths to bed now the era of the podcast is here. The Williams was a dog and was far too cramped for senna. Hill was obviously used to its dimensions. In fact if you see that Ariel shot of senna in the pits the tub looks like a Leyton house, incredibly narrow. Frank dernie said that Rory Byrne was good at picking aero parts that gave high downforce at low speed, hence the car had massive traction. Apparently an old trick that teams with not much money used. Coupled with Schumacher left foot braking meant he could drive 100% in races, especially now refuelling was allowed
Nice to see some footage of the Portuguese National Television (RTP), that back then had two channels (Canal 1 and TV2). Pity they no longer show the F1 races. I remember when I was in vacations at my Grandparents, my Grandfather during lunch, soon the race was about to start, would get up and sit in front of the TV.
0:44... Il "ringhio" del v12 Honda in scalata...
So did Hunt.
Mansell said, naaah, that can't be beat.
The williams in 94 was pretty much a very unstable and hard to drive then the previous year. Yet Senna was driving the hell out of it and manage to tame it thro pure skills and experience. just look how he past Hill like he is standing still... What an incredible Talent. we just wonder how the season would have been, hell the future years if he didnt have that accident. R.I.P Ayrton, we miss you.
Senna completely outclassed Hill, and yet, by the end of the season, Hill almost won the title. Williams was still the best team, all it took was some time to put in the work and updates. From Spain on, here are Damon Hills finishes.... 1 2 2 1 8 2 1 1 1 2 1 Ret (Crahsed out by Schimacher)
Those downshifts are brutal!
James was a fantastic commentator
MICHAEL SCHUMACHER... THE BEST DRIVER F1 OF ALL TIME!!!!! 🔝🔝🔝💯💯💯💯
Nothing better than the Walker/Hunt combination
Senna Undrivible, Schumacher illegal car

First full season Schumacher finished 3rd in WDC which was best of the rest after the dominant Williams. That was an absolutely brilliant first full season, immediate impact and showcase of the future. And if not for poor mechanical reliability in 1993 Schumacher would have again finished higher than 4th. In the two full seasons they raced each other Schumacher was faster and looked better than Senna. Senna was already past his peak, Michael improved with every year.
Schumacher had traction control on his car, they have recently admitted this, Senna knew by the engine tone of Michael’s car at the time, how could a rookie in an inferior car be leading the best car driven by a three times world champion, Benetton were very clever the way they concealed it.
❤
All the stupid "Senna didnt look right, knew what was gonna happen" comments come out every year.He didnt know the future,he was expecting an easy season and didnt get one.Found out for not being the "legend" everyone thoughg he was.
"BBC commentator James Hunt discusses the retirement of Nigel Mansell. 1992 Japanese Grand Prix, Suzuka circuit." Er, he didn't retire, he signed for Newman-Haas in Indycar as a full-time driver. In no other business or sport would a person who leaves to take up a full-time professional role elsewhere be said to have "retired".
Senna used to stamp on/off the throttle so he could have the power down quickly
Hunt the Blunt
This completely ignores the politics Mansell had to endure at Ferrari with Prost in 1990. He didn't want to race against Prost because he didn't think it would be a fair fight, Hunt seems to miss this important fact.
@4:57, yeah, he's out of this world
schumacher was champion on his 4th season of f1, senna on his 5th!
BLUE FLAG
30years will always be missed, Gone from being a Legend to a Racing God.
I'm was this 30 years after this terrible weekt. Boy do I miss Murray Walker, a consume professional & Gentleman.
Senna 🙏
65 poles in 9 years. That alone proves who the GOAT is.
Hunt lived fast and die young.
Senna, simplesmente o maior de todos!!!
That Benneton F1 bolid was far in future from Williams Reanult also Senna in disline other side Yong Lion in Coming like Schumacher.
Senna was past his peak, from this year Schumacher was the new king
No he wasn't. 1993 was arguably one of his best seasons. Hill had the marvellous FW15C and was beaten easily. Schumacher had the custom Cosworth engine more powerful than the Mclaren's. In 1994 early season the FW16 still had a lot of problems plus Benetton had traction control (cleverly implemented working around the regulation ban).
Speaking of Senna. I was at Motegi Twin Ring in Japan in 99 or 00 for an open day on the road course where the shamelessly wealthy could bring out the cars they had acquired from race teams and run them on the track. I was positioned at one of the turns as part of the safety crew and had a CO2 bottle. One guy had one of Senna's JPS cars and in my turn blew the engine and caught the car on fire. My single bottle wasn't enough to put out the fire and sadly the car was a total loss.
A legend talking about a legend leading a man who became a legend too.
