This was the location where British SOE trained members of the Czechoslovak resistance hid after they carried out the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in what was named Operation Anthropoid. They were eventually found hiding in the crypt of the cathedral and a gunfight ensued.

Part of the draw with the Martini Henry for me at least, IS the cartridge. It's so out of the realm of what we consider a normal cartridge today, even considering .45-70, BP or not. If someone really wanted to shoot a Martini in another caliber, I'm sure someone could have a replica made with a new barrel, the Martini is really a very simple rifle and it wouldn't be an impossible task to build a whole new one from scratch even as a one-off, then chamber it in .45 long colt or whatever else you fancy.
lucky the b grades are normally rusty as all hell
Another thing, both my GSG STG 44 .22LR rifles are uncanny accurate.
M1 carbine beat everyone to it. M1 carbine just worked and when later it was made full auto the M2 carbine will rock and roll! The M1 carbine put many an enemy in the ground, many an enemy!
Perfect thank you!
This is the best video I've seen covering this gun, great job! Just ordered one yesterday, super excited to get it
I have a gewehr 88/05/35 Turk "Mauser", a 1903/33, an 1893/33, and a 1954 "ATF" Turk Mauser. I just need a regular M38 K.Kale to round out my collection goal for these. I absolutely LOVE these turk mausers. Great video man!
Wow! You got to unbox at home instead of at an FFL Dealer! In California no less! LOL! I am from Northern California born and raised, live in Georgia now. Needless to say, gun laws are different here, but not so different that rolling the dice with RTI means you can unbox one from them at your home. I am four for four with RTI. 3 Carcano's and one MAS 49/56, which after a new learning experience in how to restore a f*cked bore from Ethiopia, might be my favorite rifle now! :) Not just collectable, usable!
I’m not in California lol I live on the East Coast But yeah, RTI’s non-Ethiopia Italian stuff is generally a good deal. The other stuff seems priced too high for the quality of what you’re getting.
i know it’s 2 years late but where did you get this carcano
I’m not 100% sure but I think GB. They’re everywhere right now so a quick google search should bring up some leads.
I got a k.kal 1944. I had it reblued due to the previous owner had it outside in a barn and rusted really bad. It has great rifling and the stock is gorgeous
That’s awesome! Although, I wouldn’t recommend rebluing milsurps if you’re planning on reselling it at some point. They’re good shooters!
@GarandGuy2553 I don't plan on it. I'd rather the gun last longer and not rust away than care about it's resell value.
Ive been burned real bad by RTI. If you can find a particular milsurp anywhere else get it there. Don't try and save the hundred bucks!
Yeah, there isn’t much worth grabbing here except for the M91 Calvary carbines from Italy!
@@GarandGuy2553 I think you did good on the 3 tho and keeping your expectations low is how to buy RTI
For reference: K.Kale is the name of the tiny city, Kırıkkale (Qiriq-kaleh), where the state arms factory was following foundation of the Republic. It can be see on on 6:23.
Yes, I mention this at the 13:13 mark.
You have to site your gun in long as in 500 meters to start and 300 meters short for this .338 8x56R rifle. It was meant to shot across windy alps at Italian soldati. Not to be a zero at 100 meters as I understand. It's 500. Nickname mule kicker. The Italians even had a song about this rifle. czcams.com/video/piWeRcolSX8/video.html

I have been thinking about this semi auto pistol. Two weeks ago I shot a full auto Wilson tube gun. I thought it was amazing. From the videos of the semi, it looks like the full auto has less recoil. I thought it was more fun than a select fire MP-5. The cyclic rate was so slow. I found the stock uncomfortable and unnecessary. I shot most of the rounds with the stock folded. I also found the sights were not needed in full auto with my target 40 yds away. The recoil was so mild you could walk your rounds in. I can't afford the MG so I thinking about the semi.
Ehhh this one is not amazing to be honest
Great review, and I like the history! Seems like a good clone. Where did you get your sling from?
It just came with the rifle but it’s a standard K98k sling so repros are a dime a dozen
Excellent research and presentation on a fascinating n rifle. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Mine has 1935 stamped on it? What mode would that been? Also all the letters have tan ish paint of them, I only found a few pictures online of painted letters on the receiver.
The date doesn’t mean much. Is yours a large or small ring receiver? That’s how you tell if it’s an 1893 or 1903.
@@GarandGuy2553 do you have any social media? Like an Instagram account, I could show pictures of it.

Has your bold handle ever popped off when you were shooting yours? Cuz when I was shooting mine it popped off and hit me in the temple.. I have it on video too. I was wondering if I lost a piece to it but it seems like they come off easy? Idk.. I feel like if they come out this easy it’s dangerous..
Yeah, I’ve heard of that happening too. These are really cheap clones so it wouldn’t surprise me haha
I can't stop hearing the "Bella Ciao" song everytime I see a video about a Carcano.
Haha it’s a great song for sure!
That’s exactly why they kept the m90/93 style bayonet lug, to just keep the same bayonet for all of them. They had a few Gew. 98’s and vz. 22’s with the Gew. 98 style front band/bayonet lug but those are late purchases and decidedly in the minority. If they had to do a major refurb of a Gew. 98 they generally ended up in the m938 configuration. I have one that was rebarreled in 1948 and reconfigured to the m938 style.
They’re great shooters!
I have a tip for royal tiger imports buy individual list if you want to know what your getting. Otherwise you have to roll the dice. Keep in mind that alot of the firearms come from Africa and were used by mostly untrained troops or gorilla war fighters. Who were handed a rifle and told how to shoot it and sent to fight. Then when the war was over they were stacked in open air warehouses aka chicken coup like fire wood for 50 years. So have low expectations. I hear the itialian rifle came from both itialian armory and Ethiopia. The ones that came from Italy are in good shape not so much from Africa. Thanks for the video good job.
Yeah, the individual listings are the way to go so you actually see what you’re getting
I've had one for over 20 years. It is convenient to buy the older guns I want and have them shipped directly to me. I've only sold a couple when I wanted to buy something else. It's not a license to do business. It does help get discounts on other items too, such as gun parts and needs from Brownell's.
You can also get access to Grafs dealer website with a C&R
My 95 doesn’t have any letters on chamber, just some small numbers
That’s weird! I just pulled 2 clips out of display case dated 1938 with the Eagle but my clips have ridges
That’s weird! I just pulled 2 clips out of display case dated 1938 with the Eagle but my clips have ridges
Wow, what a negative persicity dick. RTI gives us this great opportunity to buy some very cheap surplus rifles and you poop poo all over it saying. "don't buy from them they lie" and all this. They don't lie. They describe them in bad grade and sell them in bad grade. Because most Ethiopian rifles were used until they were used up and then stored in a giant tool shed. So yeah they are going to be beat and worn out. The information to know exactly what your getting is all on their website. If you don't want to buy a shitty M-95 for $150, you can go else where and buy and nice one for $650-700. You get what you pay for. Don't expect just cause they have a bunch of them they are just going to let them go from some great deal. They are a business trying to make money and they put a lot of work into bringing these to the US market. I don't work for RTI. I am just a gunsmith who finds their guns to be a great source for parts or restoration projects. If you want to be lazy about it and shoot a gun right out of the box, go to any gun shop. If you want something cheap, interesting, and in need of some TLC before you shoot it. Shop RTI. But don't expect cheap and ready to shoot.
Hi @garandguy2553 - My grandfather passed away in March of this year. He left me three guns. He lived in Texas and we are in North Carolina. What would I need to do to ship the guns to myself? Or would I still have to ship to a dealer to hold for background check and I pick it up? There's a lot of information online and most seems to contradict the other.
Sorry to hear about your grandfather! Honestly, I’m not sure. If you have inherited them and are your property, then you should be able to just ship them to yourself without needing to do a transfer. This is just my opinion and not legal advice, of course. Also, make sure they are long rifles. I’m not exactly sure what the laws are around shipping pistols to yourself.
@@GarandGuy2553 Thank you for the quick response. Two are pistols and one is a rifle. I'm thinking we may just drive. lol. It seems like a lot to get them shipping or to check them on the flight and I would worry about them getting damaged or something. :(
@@mamab88842 ahh yeah, pistols are a bit tricky since you can only ship them through UPS or FedEx and you would need to setup a business account with each. I’m also not sure if you can ship pistols to yourself across state lines to a non-FFL even if you’re the owner. It’d be best to just get them in-person.
If you own it you can ship it to yourself. However you'd want proof that you went to your grandpa's place to recieve the guns before shipping it for evidence purposes. Having a family member ship it to you on your behalf would be illegal and the atf can hit people with several years outta if they win the prosecution
@@jason200912 I couldn’t find anything on the U.S. code or the ATF website that specifically prohibits a family member or a spouse from shipping a firearm that you own to yourself as long as you’re the one receiving it. I believe you but I couldn’t find it in writing. For example, I know a lot of spouses will ship rifles to the hunting lodges or camps if their husband is away on a month long trip. A relative might be a stretch but I believe a spouse would be considered a co-owner assuming you’re married and live together.
Does it have to be me who signs for the firearm for example if im not the one whos home when it comes
You have to be the one receiving and signing for the firearm. You will need to be there when it arrives.
@@GarandGuy2553 even if I give someone power of attorney ?
🇦🇺😎👍Interesting. In Australia the only gun stuff allowed in the mail is slings , empty cases or projectiles. etc…Everything has to be picked up at a shop in person by a licenced firearms holder . Any firearms purchased must be accompanied with a police permit to own the firearm. They like to limit the amount of stuff we own…great video🏁
Thanks! To be clear, a firearm has to be shipped to a licensed dealer here as well. I have a Curio & Relics FFL that allows me to receive rifles that are 50+ years or older directly to my door.
The story about Poland being invaded during WW2 actually shows that rifle would be used as opposing forces and the allied nations had the right to take the rifle under spoils of war and would be documented 😁 maybe the Sako factory should reproduce a more modern version with variants of different calibers ! I would like to see A .223/5.56 NATO replica rifle with a over/under see through scope mount with scope
The Sako factory is in Finland, not Poland. And since this was designed for 8mm, it would be difficult for a company to develop a copy for .556 NATO. There wouldn’t be any demand and the small number of collectors who would be interested in it, would want it in 8mm.
The Austrian M95 Mannlicher didn't have rimmed 6.5 mm cartridges.
Correct. It was an 8mm rimmed cartridge known as 8×50mmR Mannlicher
@@GarandGuy2553Yes, you're right!
The Vetterli doesn't have a vitali magazine anymore. Because of conversion to 6.5 mm?
Yeah, ones that were converted got different magazines.
4:50 Re. the Carcano Sights- The older models had adjustable Sights with a 300 meter Zero; and them adjustments from 450 meters to 200 meters. The Mod 38 in 7.35mm had a Sight fixed for 200 meters, and the Mod 38 in 6.5mm was fixed to 300 meters; due to the 6.5s slower Velocity etc. But as stated here, the Mod. 41 had Battle Zero of 200 meters; owing to the closer nature of modern combat.
The gun looks plasticky and oh boy, the disassembly looks painful as hell.
Yeah, they’re not the best copies
Shit man i have a ton of bolts and 6.5 carcano is already loud as fuck out of my ts i cant imagine shooting 8mm mauser out of one. Although the wordt guns to me are short carbine 30-06 like my half pistol grip 03a3 apringfield or columbian mauser
Eardrums are overrated
If I use it to buy a gun at a regular gun dealer, what does it do for me?
It just means you can skip out on doing your form 4473 which is kind of annoying and having to wait around sucks. It’s also great for gunshows because it significantly speeds up transaction with vendors. Most C&R collectors do their shopping online which is where it has the most obvious benefit.

Both J&G and RTI sourced their Moschetto’s from the same Italian carabinieri storage auctions. Go with whichever is cheapest. J&G has better customer service and ships much faster (several days versus 3-4 weeks).
@@GarandGuy2553 in that case I will be ordering from j&g, thank you for the quick and informative reply, you sir have earned a new subscriber.
@@darthbiden8675 thanks man! I’m ordered from both but J&G seems more “reachable” if that makes sense.
6:22 You got it backwards. The K98 is a long receiver and the M48 bolt was too short prevention the front locking lugs to reach the locking surface in the receiver preventing you from turning down the bolt. On the M48/M48A/M247/47 the receiver is shorter and the K98k bolt is over inserting passing the locking surface. Measure the bolts with a tape measure to see what I mean.
Did you select the pre 1918 option for the carcano or was that luck of the draw?
Luck of the draw!

I’m not sure honestly! I know they started making them in 2008 but not sure when they stopped. I tried looking it up but couldn’t find much.
I have to agree here, with the absence of photos of the left side, it certainly paints the picture of potentially deceptive practices. It begs the question, with all the detailed photos, why were there none of the left side? Sorry for your experience here, but I am grateful for the PSA. Thanks.
