I saw the flower at the Tower Theatre in Philly in the 70's. In Phil Collins' book, he says that the band didn't know what he was going to be dressed as. lol Gabriel's a brilliant guy.

The one thing I hate about music is that when you do anything unusual, its something you can't do twice. So 'suppers ready' is 'just like musical box' in that its 'long and meandering', and 'you can't do that twice without it being derivative'. Meanwhile EVERY song on the radio is verse chorus verse chorus and three minutes and thats just 'standard'.

apparently the reason that gabriel left the band is that the rest of the group were jealous that he was getting all of the attention with his stage persona and outfits- you'd think they would have been eternally grateful as the rest of the band,although brilliant musicians, had all the charisma of a bunch of bank managers- ironically when he left, the band realised that they had to be a bit more entertaining on stage so we had that irritating git phil collins try to fill the void left by gabriel by coming out with his cheeky chappie schtick that was meant as endearing but was just fucking annoyimg

In early 2015 I arrived home in Illinois from Portland, Oregon. I had recently begun recovering memories of my father abusing me as a child. My parents forced me to move back in with him after I lost my job and ran out of money. I was sleeping on his couch in his living room. One evening while he was out, I turned the TV on, and saw what I assume was the last thing he watched when he turned the TV off. It was Peter Gabriel standing and singing in the fox mask. I got confused and thought it was Phil Collins. At the end of the song, Gabriel appeared to fall onto his microphone, impaling the mic stand through his body, as he dropped to the floor, in a mock crucifixion. It was the most terrifying thing I'd ever seen. I turned the TV monitor around and strew Christmas lights over it. I then developed an irrational fear of Phil Collins. Years later, I discovered that it was Gabriel, and also that Phil Collins is in Jeffrey Epstein's black book. Does anyone know where I can find video of the microphone impaling incident?
