They are beautiful consoles, I have a black one and I've just bought a crystal X3CP but had to send it to a friend in the US to post because he didn't have international shipping activated on FeeBay. Mine also has a Ghostcase lid so we'll see if it breaks in transit but I have an MS one I've modified to look the same. Great throw-ins with the extra wires in the X-case and the HD pack. I'll be looking to see if I can strip mine down to dye orange for my Halo Orange case. Welcome to 2024.

Thank you for this video Frank! I was able to solder everything in place (the second time!) but it works. The video is great and so is the sound... until it starts crackling on the left speaker. Do you know what can cause the left speaker to crackle after using the dongle for two minutes? Do I have a bad wii2hdmi dongle to begin with? Thanks!

do you know of any guides for installing this internally without removing the AV header out of the xbox. so you have the ability to keep the original port but also have the hdmi option above it, i've seen the 3d printed brackets for it but just not sure where the soldering points are inside the xbox if your not removing the entire port.

the clock capacitor had been removed already but the 1.4 mostly had the gold clock capacitors on which are good quality and don't leak, if that's the case it wouldn't've needed removing

I love collecting repos that look identical without any repo labeling, I'd rather have brand new looking repo carts, boxes and manuals than have the real thing at this point due to the price gouging.

You should replace the stock IDE cable with an 80 wire if you want the best out of the Startech or even the cheap adapters.

Wavey lines are from the HDMI port they are faulty or defective after replacing the HDMI port wavy lines are gone picture looks amazing and thanks you for shareing this idea for the OG XBOX I would recommend buying the mayflash wii adapter no waves crystal clear picture not the generic $5 ones and stay away from all the other ones

Great video Frank! For whatever reason, my circuit board will not slide right out. It’s a white one, so I’m wondering if it’s a snugger fit inside. Yours came out so effortlessly, while mine is so tight that the wii connector pulled off. I don’t want to have to break the enclosure, but looks like I might have to.

The Mayflash adapters have worked every time for me with grate video quality and no defective ones. The only downside is no pad labels. 😅

Hey, I bought a used Xbox with a mod chip like yours, I want to install a evox M8 plus bios, but I don't know hot to do it, can you help me ?

This "black tar" / "thermal paste" is actually a phase change material pad (it gets softer when heated up) which still works well on most of these consoles unless they've gone through an extreme amount of power cycles. This is why most OG Xbox units have a very minimal temperature change (if any) when changing the PCM to a thermal paste.

Hey I'm late to the party but what kinda of ( tape ) are you using to protect from shorting out.

Well mine doesn't work, soon as I ground the d0 it frags and black screen. Pull d0 and it loads up fine. I have checked solder points and reflowed multiple times even used a multimeter. Is it possible it's a bad chip? I also have no led on the chip at all but have verified voltage on the pins that are supposed to have voltage and grounds work. Considering getting another mod chip to try. I didn't remove the 4 pins I followed another guide so I should have led on

thans mate china produts are ok not all but are ok for repairs and like you say for one xbox startech adapter ok for 10 of more china adapter are the best and i think startech have a lot of components from china
