cant solder? Don't have time or patients to make one of these? But still want to enjoy HDMI video for the original Xbox? not to fear. I'm offering this pre-made to anyone in Canada or the US. for a small fee. message me through Facebook type in Retro Pro Frank and throw me a p.m. if interested thank you
I've seen this done a few times before. Searched up and down on the internet for some sort of schematic could not find anything. Ask some of the forum members they only showed me finished product and not revealing technique.
spent a couple of work nights figuring it out
she's working great..
this video was a little difficult to film because the camera was in the way all the time so it's like I had to solder with an obstacle right in the way.
any event that worked out great even though I had a hiccup with the defective board that was sent...
that being said please use caution when buying. I ordered three and one of them was defective. You can use any supplier you like I just linked to the person I bought from you can use anybody you like.
also I would love to give a shout out to James R. Once I had all the master drawings together. I passed it on to him he did some amazing work in order to make the PDF wiring schematic a lot cleaner than the hand drawing papers I took a picture and sent to him .. looks better now :)

I was looking for a cheap alternative to the Hdmi conversion and came across your video. What can I say, it's absolutely fantastic and works great. Thank you for your work and best regards from Germany.
Brilliant. Nothing better than a thorough tutorial without jump-cutting every few minutes.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent vid Frank. Very detailed and good camera work makes it easy to follow. Going to give this a go
Thank you very much I hope you watch the entire video and enjoy
Hey
Good to see people still interested in Xbox OG
I also like Canadian content. Being from Canada.
Thank u bro!
This is awesome. I am going to try this out when I get the chance and a soldering station to do it.
was on the fence about doing this till i watched your video, there's too many that skip important points. but you are nice and thorough. Ordering off DX as we speak. thinking i might do the internal build, means i'll need a new dremel cause mine squeals like a banshee when its on.
Their tutorial tonight Frank, will definitely trying one of these. Great work.
Great job Frank! I bought one of the Wii2HDMI adapters a while ago so I'm going to do this over the weekend.
Your going to love it ...take your time bro
Hi, just wanna say thanks!
I bought 2 of the converters online along with sacrificial composite cable.. When it arrived, 1 of them is kinda different, it's black with curved housing and it's easy to open on the side. The layout inside with one large grounding point instead of 2 square grounding. So I'd give it a shot and it worked!
Awesome great news thanks for the good comment have a great day
This is awesome! great job i definitely need one of these modified Wii2HDMI for my original xbox, thumbs up!
Dude, One of the most satisfying Mods on CZcams! Would love to see more Mods with this device like Gamecube or Dreamcast!
Wow thank u!!!
Thanks Frank. Very detailed video.
This is worth the effort because the other guys are sold out, putting people on a waiting list, and too expensive. I'm gonna try it and I know making something yourself is more satisfying. Thanks for taking the time to show us how. 💋
Works flawless, thanks for the good guide.
Great job Frank! it took me a couple of tries because I am dyslexic and got some of the wires miss placed. finally got it all together and works great. Thanks
Good to know this video is still helping people
Awesome!!! thanks for this Video!!!!
I was able to build my "XBOX2HDMI" adaptor following your tutorial.
I will be using this adaptor for my second OG xbox which is dedicated to XBMC-emustation only, and my impression is that I like it better that hooking up this xbox through my OSSC, (I will use my main OG XBOX with my OSSC though). I never found a proper configuration with my OSSC to play 240p games with the OG xbox, but this little mod works out better with the filters that come within the emulators in the xbmc-E.
My comments for anyone planning to do it, as Frank says, check there are no bridges between that contacts and also, (very important) hot glue that thing. My God, before the hot glue, I was having such a hard time to keep everything in place.
Thanks so much again for this video!!! two thumbs up!
Thanks bro
Hello mate. I followed your tutorial, it wasn't easy. In my first try it did not work... I used very thin cables, the soldering was very bad... then I realized that I have one of those xbox360 connectors, so after starting again from scratch using your diagrams, I finally succeeded, it works quite well. I used the white wii2hdmi, it is technically identical. Thank you mate. Before this amazing mod, I used to connect the Xbox to one of those GBS RGB converters, but it was quite messy, now it looks better. Thanks again. Cheers.
Thank you for your kind words friend glad it worked out
canadian YT content is the best! great tutorial thumbs up
Great video as usual, Frank. Keep up the good work, bud. 👍🏻
Thank u very much bro..
You rule Frank! Got me another little project for the summer. :D
Right on bro..hahhah... you know you can actually solder it to the motherboard!
Thank you for this tutorial. Gonna try it tonight
Built this with a White Wii2HDMI. no pin hole version. Works great even though I suck at soldering and almost destroyed the connector. Thanks for the video.
Practice makes perfect if it works that's actually pretty awesome. The next one you make will be even better keep up the good work
Fantastic job figuring this out
Took me a couple of days to get the wiring just right. There were some sort of write ups on how to do this. And image attached... what the problem was there wasn't a straight wiring diagram that showed Dport connection from the original Xbox 2 wii2hdmi.... yes it might have had an image that showed the wii2hdmi diagram. And a different diagram that showed all the outputs from the original Xbox Deport.. but not showing where the connections from the D port to the Wii HDMI directly. Seen a picture of someone trying to show these to Connected the problem was there was so many lines going from one side to the other in considering the Deport has two rows of pins. It's impossible to decipher. It would be more confusing than anything. So at that point when I seen this I said I cannot use this. So I ended up using the one diagram for the Deport and off of that trying to use common sense. Of where to solder wires. Definitely helped. If you notice in this video my wiring diagram shows a total of 5 grounding wires. You won't find this anywhere else even if you try to decipher the original which is more confusing that anyting.. to be perfectly honest with you I tried to tracklist back to the original inventor who came up with this idea. I spent a week on forms asking people if they knew and I found out that the Brazilians came up with the idea.. and I tracked it down to one main person. I message this person directly he told me that he was the first one to ever come up with this idea. No I did see one sort of schematic that was in either Portuguese or Brazilian or Mexican. It made no sense though. It was almost there to throw people off. So when I asked him about this he admitted that he made this diagram. And I told him well it doesn't make sense it's not going to work he said I know. He went on to tell me that he had different schematics. But he would not share them to anyone. I think that is a very selfish. Also went on to find out that they are charging around 40 to 50 USD a piece for this mod. So this is the reason why they won't release any schematics. Obviously they were making money off their own people. At that point I figured I would not give this person any credit considering he pretty much put out fake information to mislead people purposely which I find run. I'm merely figure it out the wiring myself because none of the schematics could have been entrusted. And I cleaned up the schematics completely so it's easy for people to understand. So I hand Drew my masters. I had a member offer to make it look a lot better graphically if I send him the original master schematics that I made. I thought that he was being nice by offering this but thinking about it it was just because he wanted to start making them and selling them. So I sent him the Masters. Then he sent me back a very cleaned up version of my masters. Which he did a good job on. In any event I hope that you were able to make your own from either this video or the drawings in the description of the video. Thanks for the comment and have a good day
Great tutorial thanks ill attempt to make one as soon as my modchip arrives.
The Mayflash adapters have worked every time for me with grate video quality and no defective ones. The only downside is no pad labels. 😅
Excellent vid bro.keep going
Just followed this video and done one myself and yeh the image is so much better, £10 British pounds and 20 mims work, cheers for putting this out there and oh yeh I'm on a 65" TV looks amazing
Wavey lines are from the HDMI port they are faulty or defective after replacing the HDMI port wavy lines are gone picture looks amazing and thanks you for shareing this idea for the OG XBOX I would recommend buying the mayflash wii adapter no waves crystal clear picture not the generic $5 ones and stay away from all the other ones
Just done this mod for my xbox tonight as I've upgraded my tv but in doing that lost a lot of sockets and other input types, Works a treat and running it into an upscaler for 1080p resolution it's about as good as your ever going to get the picture considering the age of the console, Tried two different brand component to Hdmi converters and both were absolute crap picture drop outs, grain effects, scrolling lines top to bottom, should of just gone down this route 1st
Cheers for sharing the info and diagrams👌🤙
Glad everything worked out
Thank you! Much easier and cheaper than the Xbox 360 component cable mod.
Do you think this would work just as well for a n64?
Great video Frank! For whatever reason, my circuit board will not slide right out. It’s a white one, so I’m wondering if it’s a snugger fit inside. Yours came out so effortlessly, while mine is so tight that the wii connector pulled off. I don’t want to have to break the enclosure, but looks like I might have to.
Great video, makes me want to make a few.
Hahahhaha right??
Wonder what else this could work on 🤔
Very cool video mate definitely gonna use this 👍
To be honest anything that is analog video and audio it turns it into HDMI
Nice tutorial, thanks! Will definitely be giving this a go. Top tip with the shrink wrap on the helping hand clips too btw. Also - is that an lcd in the jewel on top of your X3 box? Looks great, id love to know what it is!
I've now successfully completed my first Wii2HDMI mod! Following your tutorial made it straight forward and resulted in success first time around so thanks for the detailed guide. Actually one of the trickiest parts for me was how to put the whole thing together neatly, but I found that by losing the bottom metal part of the Xbox connector enclosure, you can hot-glue the board directly into the top part of the metal Xbox connector casing. As long as you allow room for the board to sit in its guide rails, the whole thing slides neatly into the plastic case and is very sturdy. The picture output is great and an improvement on my component cable, although the picture takes longer to kick in on start-up so you lose the flubber annimation and splashscreen on XBMC4Gamers. BTW I used the white version of the Wii2HDMI - the board inside seems identical and its easier to get here in the UK.
@@ciderfeks thank you for letting me know that you've had great success with this. If you make a few more you only get faster and better as time goes by. I was glad I was able to help you out your number 24 that had great success. I've only heard of one person having a difficult time. But I think that person doesn't really have too much experience with soldering. Other than that it's great to hear the great news. Who cares about Flubber animation question mark what matters is gameplay and scrolling through your gamers in HD. Thank you very much for watching this video I hope you subscribe to the channel and give me a thumbs up please share this video with your family and friends and anybody else online who might be interested in this mod. This is a very affordable way to get HDMI out of an original Xbox for very little money. Thanks again and have a great day
@@Retroprofrank is that an lcd on your xbox?
Great work finished mine today,£3 from China off eBay used plenty of hot glue !!!!!
So... test it out on a Wii before hacking it up?
Great tutorial -- thank you!
Yeah sounds like a good move
im very happy whit your video thank you.stay safe watching now in 2021
Hm...kay (scrn)
Awesome video dude! Nifty work done.
Thanks broski
Good video Frank! Do you think there is room to add optical audio to the mod? If so, how would you go about doing it?
Well you would have to look into it. You would have to draw some good schematics.. lot of testing trial-and-error. Good luck let me know when you get it :)
Great video. Would this work with an unmodded 1.6v console? I don’t want to mod the console, just the port to get it on my TV better.
Thanks Frank
Thank you, it works, One question, What videos settings do you use on your xbox?
720
This has got me wanting to desolder the av port on the xbox, and mount this internally.
Hey Frank, that's what i was looking for. Great job, thx! Is it working with different resolutions on the box (720p, 480i etc)?
Yup 480 720 and 1080i... although the Xbox doesn't have the resources to run 1080 smoothly. It is recommended to keep the Xbox in 7:20
Thank you for this video Frank!
I was able to solder everything in place (the second time!) but it works.
The video is great and so is the sound... until it starts crackling on the left speaker.
Do you know what can cause the left speaker to crackle after using the dongle for two minutes? Do I have a bad wii2hdmi dongle to begin with?
Thanks!
Check your work. I don't know what you're capable of. Take your time clean it up
@@Retroprofrank Thanks! I cleaned it and re solder one ground. It is now working perfectly! Thanks again!
What dashboard or XBMC skin did you use on that first xbox?
Great video
Thak u broski! 😊
Thanks for the vid.. i have a wii2hdmi sitting here that i never really used for my wii. Now that I’m slim and soft modding an xbox this will be a good addition. :) Where in Canada are you?
Around Toronto
BLowing on solders is not recommended it can create bd solders. Also, are you sure all those ground wire are necessary? There are many ground pin on the connector do facilitate the soldering of coaxial cables but in the end it's all connected together. In fact soldering them all instead of one might create more noise.
Yeah I'm sure did you not watch the video to the end when I show how clear it ended up looking with all 5 ground wires. If you want to be a butcher and use one ground wire that's fine with me. If you like to cut corners and that's your kind of thing go ahead. Me I will continue to do it this way because I know the video quality looks great this way
Out of a hundred people maybe one or two only using by one audio. If you would like to add coax. By all means you can do whatever you like. Majority of the people playing this are using the two speakers out of their TV for sound. Last I heard TVs don't have 5 speakers built-in and even if they did they would not be positioned properly for True 5 1 audio
Great video man, i have a question is this better then a 3rd party component cable? if so i will look into it
Yes
I'm surprised it works and looks super well! Any way you take orders?
Yes pm me on facebook search retro Pro Frank
Hi mate. I have a white adapter, do you have a video for that one? Edit, no need to reply, I followed exact instructions (on white board none of the connections are labelled) hoping it would be identical in connection placement and it worked. Looks amazing. One of best instructional videos I have watched.
Does yours have the 4 pads(SEL, G, NC, SDA) on the back? Mine doesn't so I was wondering where to send those grounds...
@@christophergolden2893 hi Kate. Yes mine did. I originally put both wires to g, and it worked fine, one disconnected when putting it back into the case so I wired that one to one of the other pads as frank did near the end of his video, they are a lot larger and easier to solder to, and it came out perfect. I would solder the two wires as Frank did at the end. A lot easier.
Sorry was supposed to say mate, for some reason my auto correct keeps changing to Kate lol
do you know of any guides for installing this internally without removing the AV header out of the xbox. so you have the ability to keep the original port but also have the hdmi option above it, i've seen the 3d printed brackets for it but just not sure where the soldering points are inside the xbox if your not removing the entire port.
If you don't want to touch the original Port just make the wii to Xbox converter in the video
I love this ajd I'll do it eventually. But Im gonna have to wait until I get a 3d printer my anxiety won't let me havr the wires exposed like that. I know it ain't dangerous but still... Oh well hopefully by Christmas! Thanks for the vid it'll help me then. Until then I'll use pound
You just do what I did. Cut the original cables Boot and then slide it on over after you put hot glue. And nothing is dangerous here 5 volts is nothing. You have nothing to worry about friend. I've had over 40 people tell me great success stories of this tutorial. Now imagine all the people that never told me. This is one hell of a mod that can hang with the big boys all day. Check out my other videos to see a split screen comparison of the xbox2hdmi versus the pound cable the results are shocking
@@Retroprofrank well now I feel dumb xD I never thought to do that. I'll have to set aside a Saturday next month to do this then.
@@12me91 well you would have known that if you watch the whole video...lol.. I give a lot of General soldering tips to in this video you should watch the entire thing you might learn a thing or two we could all learn from each other :-) I still have a lot of learning to go to nobody knows everything :-)
WELL DONE
Thank u friend!!! Seems like this video has helped people successfully get an HDMI option for an original Xbox on the cheep.. glad you enjoyed the video. If you enjoyed this video take a look at some of my older content lot of information there. Thanks again for the kind words
God damn this was tedious without helping hands, will definitley pick some up.. However was worth it in the end 😄 Huge difference compared to the AV/composite to hdmi converter
Good to know that the video is still valid and people are still having Success With It. Excellent my friend you have made my day
Frank is awesome
U2 broski!!
great video, i'm only wondering audio is still analoge 2.0 stereo ??
Im currently using toslink cable, to get 5.1 Dolby Digital passtrough audio, this perhaps wont work with this mod ?
The analog with this videos current setup is a straight pass analog signal... however you can tap in to the 5.1 audio. By using pin number 3 on the D-port
What length do the wires have to be. As in the video they are too long? Great video btw
The shorter the better!!! Thank you very much
Great vid mate. May actually give this a try now :)
Ordered the white version of the adapter off ebay. It has the same layout as the black one its just not labeled. Thank you very much for the tut, I can now play my games at 720p!
Follow up: Displays with a pink tint in games and randomly cuts video on anything but the dashboard, must be a bunk board?
I would definitely try another board. Shouldn't be displaying any kind of pink. Actually in this video I ended up getting a defective board like that as well that's why I always tell you guys never just to buy one..
@@Retroprofrank Thanks for the reply, I just bought another board and will be sure to test it with my wii first lol. Do you have any experience with the xbox wireless adapter (mn-740) as mine is showing a solid orange light.
looks like something i can do with my newbie soldering skills
That's the point pretty easy you can save some money in today's economy every little bit adds up:-)
Epic mod! 👏😎 What dash is that your using?
Wanna know that too :(((
This one vs the Xbox HD+ by Make MHZ ?
I tried this and the red solder pad just slipped off the PCB when I was putting it back together. Ah well.
does this work flawlessly with every model of xbox? i heard the hyperkin cables have issues with 1.4s.
My first test was on the Virgin 1.4 people couldn't believe how clear it was. Doesn't take much I've heard of over twenty people have great success off this video and the wiring diagram in the description of the video
Nice video Thanks for the guide.
Why did you remove those colour coded cables of the xb connector couldn't you of just soldered the other end of those to the wii2hdmi board?
Does this allow surround sound via hdmi? if not how can someone get surround sound with this?
Cuz it wouldn't have looked as clean. It would have been a big long wire with a box at the end of it... and this setup is just for stereo.. however depending on the amplifier you have could get Surround Sound stereo from this
@@Retroprofrank I wasn't very clear with what I posted before at 19.36 it shows you removing the wires of the XB connector these are the ones I was referring to that are already in place can they not be used?
Stereo sound works via hdmi but not dts/dolby 5.1 this is what I am after any details or a link to a place which has the extra layout to get that? thanks again
@@nicmonberg5974 there's different ways of wiring this completely the wires I remove is what came from the Chinese supplier. This can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer that's why I remove everything to start over. If you want to access 5.1 surround you can access it by tapping into pin number 3
Great video. What's the frontend?
They're both XBMC based front ends
Doing this mod... Any body can hear Audio through the AUX hole? The comercial xbox to hdmi converters do not have an AUX out for stereo...
Yes the audio aux works
your PINK unit either has a bad BLUE signal. likely...or possibly you mixed up y Pr Pb wires. you can get a messed up colour mix by doing that. but since you seem to be pretty well versed in mods lets assume you got those right :) ...trace the Pb line back to its chip. its probably something pretty simple. bad solder joint on the chip itself maybe.
Yeah I didn't mix up my wires they were perfect. It could be something small on the board but I didn't see it. I'm just going to throw it out. I got four more on order. I know once in a while you're going to get these deficiencies with these cheap Chinese adapters but I can't believe how good the clarity is. Definitely worth the V bucks and the hours to do the job
But I'll tell you one thing I did not mix up any wires. I triple checked and everything. Was the board came defective
@@tubejoust lol would cost me way more in shipping..lol..bro its a 5buck pc of teck...lol..but thanks anyways!
When you swapped the two grounds to the other two spots, does it matter which one goes where, or doesn't it matter?
It could possibly matter but I would just follow the tutorial I've heard of over 30 people who had great success probably another couple hundred who's never even told me. All things are in video description please don't forget to subscribe to the channel and give me a light for all my hard work thanks again
I have a ps2 to hdmi. Internally it looks almost exactly the same. Every cable you solder on the l r gr etc points are on the edges, be it not in the same order or side as the one your showing.
Also cant seem to find the big ground solder point.
Is it possible to make it for the xbox with the ps2 to hdmi? Its the one with the black cover and with big white capital letters saying PS2 TO HDMI
Hard for me to say. That being said anything you do with that is at your own risk
could i possibly use the existing cables from the xbox connection or wont the signal be good enough?. thanks for video, i was going to buy an adapter but was hesitant.
You can try but it could add interference. Good luck
@@Retroprofrank I think I might give it a miss then, I don't have any yellow power cables spare what guage wire should I buy in place of it. I appreciate any help as I would like to try this, whether I stuff it up or not atleast I tried.
How does the picture compare to the output of component cables? Is it better?
Hard to say I have no way of testing side by side. All depends on the Xbox itself as well. If you have original 18 year old capacitors in the Xbox and a rusty cage. This does not do any upscaling or anything like that. Overall condition of Xbox matters no matter what you use
@@Retroprofrank Ahh, OK. I have a 1.1 which i bought used and was in great condition. The previous owners almost only used it for watching DVDs. It's TSOP flashed also so I can use 480p, 720p and 1080i.
@@stansteez the most important thing doesn't matter about physical condition what matters is the condition of the capacitors doesn't matter which connector you use to hook it up to the TV if your capacitor is your dead and dying in 18 years old no matter what you do you will get a distorted picture no matter what you use. Highly recommended in any Xbox that goes through your hands to replace the capacitors this makes a world of difference
i have the white one adapter and yes its different, so what im doing now?
Well you can either try to figure it out yourself or buy a black one. Still no guarantees it'll be the same board
Where do I get that dashboard? I like it a lot
Witch one in this video you see XBMC Origins and in my living room you see xbmc4gamers
Frank, what are the differences between the white and Black Wii Converters?
Nowadays kind of hard to tell you don't know what type of chipset you're going to be getting
Frank, What dashboard are you using?
Xbmc Unleashed X. I use pretty much all of them except for Avalanche
I had a component to hdmi converter box that also gave me a pink screen. dunno how cos it was working fine but solved it by replacing it. now im gonna make this and see what happens
Well my friend you can see the number of upvotes this video has. And if you search the internet you'll see that there's a really good feedback on this particular mod. Just make sure when you order that you ordered multiples just in case you get a defective one like I did thank you very much
@@Retroprofrank also one thing to ask, what awg size wires do i need? Can it all be the same type for each connection?
@@thestrangegod3173 yes same size. 30 gauge stranded will work even 28 your call
Is the schematic still available? I downloaded the file but nothing displays.
That's weird maybe try on a different computer or cell phone.
very interesting. i have a modded ogxbox, which i have connected to a HDMI Monitor via a 1080p upscaler. What you have, isn't an upscaler,or is it?whatever,it's ogxbox related,so i just had to watch.I also have an unmodded og which i intend modding with a bigger hard-drive.
No it's not an upscaler by any means simply a converter. Convert from analog to digital signal that's it that's all..
do you have a link for the wii2hdmi adapter you use
Yes I do. But the problem is what you get to be different from what I get. You don't know until you open it up inside and have a look it could be completely different from the video that's why I have cooking down my link links to the product
Hi Frank, do I need to get the component cable or it is fine with just the composite one?
Up 2 you
@@Retroprofrank So I went with the composite cable and noticed that on one side it has only 11 pins instead of 12. I ran into a dead end as I now don't know which goes in to which, lol.
@@cooldat92 well what did I specify in the video?
How can i get that xbox 360 dash board on my hard modded xbox , or where can i get it
I have an available you can message me on Facebook for more information just search retro Pro Frank thank you
Does the wii2hdmi work well with an unmodded xbox console? because I saw your xbox is already modded as 37:12 .
Doesn't have to be modded at all... although you have to make sure you switch your Xbox to 480i and 720p once it's all hooked this is done in the option menu of the original Xbox dashboard. Most games on the original Xbox or 480i.. however there are a handful of 720 and about three or four at 1080
Please, build this one for the original SNES.
Great idea
I have a white Wii 2 HDMI adapter from Germany, will the guide work for me?
I have no idea if it's the same board impossible for me to know
@@Retroprofrank thanks mate I'll give it a try anyway. Is this doable with 24awg or should i wait until i got 30? I did your 1.6 Aladdin mod tutorial successfully last night so I'm on a roll edit: got to the last two wires and can't understand what you're doing, something about a jumping material ☹️ and two blue wires connected like a horse shoe
@@ichrismoku I wouldn't use 30 maybe go 28 and I would go with stranded
can you share your PDF? I tried following your video but, I got lost.
Yes it's in the download description of this video. I know of at least fifty people plus who have had great success with this tutorial. That's just the people that told me could be way more like in the hundreds by now
Also, the pins on my connector are staggered differently. I.e.My pin #1, instead of being short, is long
@@bzmotoninja83 you sure you don't have it upside down or backwards. Read the PDF thoroughly
Am I good to use 30 gauge wire for the entire job?
No I would go a little bit thicker and go stranded not solid
@@Retroprofrank thank you sir!
So I have tried this mod on 2 different Wii to HDMI adapters now and both are not giving me any color. All I get is a wash out Gray and Black. Anyone have any idea what would cause that? What adapter is everyone buying? The 2 I got are off Amazon not sure what to do. Anyone lend some help or Ideas?

He mentioned in another comment that it's xbmc4gamers. I was wondering myself, it's really impressive!
Actually a 37.34 it is XBMCOrigins
@@Retroprofrank Ah thanks!
Why not just install the adapter into the xbox?
Because at the time there was never adapter invented.
How do we buy you 1 if I am in Colombia?
I'm sorry I only ship to Canada and the US..
This may be explained in the video but ill ask anyways. The xbox usually goes between 480i, 480p,720p and 1080i depending on the game or app. Will this device still make that happen or will it just stay at 480p? Also, does it upscale? Because I do not want an upscaler. I just want it to behave the same way as my component cable but with hdmi instead. Also, the link for the adaptor seems to be missing. What exactly should i get?
Works exactly like your component cables. This is not an upscaler by any means this is just simple video converter that converts component to HDMI. If your Xbox is set to 720 then the video displays in 720 doesn't have a mind of its own.. you can purchase this anywhere on eBay AliExpress wish cetera excetera literally hundreds of sellers. That's why no link
I made this but mine is 480i & black and white. Need help.😞
How to make sure your Xbox is in the HD mode. It's under your setting somewhere in the dashboard just set it to 720P
@@Retroprofrank Sorry been a while, I desoldered resoldered to a second one bothe gave me 480i grayscale on modded v1.0 xbox running unleashedX in widescreen or normal 480p yes, 7s0 yes, 1080i no & grayed them out in xbmc. I followed your video when soldering to the spare & back both worked fine on wii. Both say wii2hdmi ms9288a. Is it a revision problem or em i still doing something wrong?
@@TheGenesisCrisis that's actually the better board. I would get a couple from a different supplier
@@Retroprofrank Thanks for the responses, I finally got it working. Don't know what I did different but now it works so thanks for the help. PS is there any chance of this working with the ps2 using usb power for 5volts?
Great idea now PS2 pls
That already exists. You can buy a pre-made on eBay search PS2 HDMI
How do you get that
Don't understand. If you're asking how I made this I did see people post images of this completed years ago from the Mexican Xbox Community however no schematics were ever shared. I took the time to break down the pinouts. And make an easy wiring diagram that anyone can follow and I shared it amongst the community
