Facts, no lies said. 💛 It can be so freeing to just write. But instead of it being "this is all garbage I'll edit later" I much prefer the attitude of "I'm having so much fun writing and I don't have to stop for editing yet!"

just wanna say that i love these videos soso much! as someone who generally really does like her first drafts i’ve always felt weird about how much Writing Advice(tm) kinda hammers you over the head with “remember that your first draft is going to SUCK it’s going to be BAD it’s going to be COMPLETE AND UTTER SHIT” (<- hyperbole ofc but that’s how it feels sometimes). and like i think i get where those people are coming from i get that it’s supposed to be a positive thing but. idk. it’s always just felt weird. so seeing stuff like this is just rlly nice <3

Hi, Rachel! Yay! You’re back! I loved this vlog! I hope you post another when you’re inspired to. I hope you’ve been doing okay in the in-between and I’ll try to check out your next livestream when you have one. I also love your set up and all the art! And your Squishmallows on your bed! 😍 I had to take a 7 month break between the 3rd draft of my PhD dissertation novel, also an Adult contemporary fantasy (the draft that I submitted to the library in August 2023 that’s public) and the 4th draft. I finally managed to get to 6 drafts once I had revised the 4th. I finally had motivation to start again. The 6th draft is the one I started querying to literary agents last month. So far, it’s either been rejections or silence. But I think taking that long break really helped me, so if you needed that break or still need one, take it! To be honest, I haven’t felt like drafting my new novel while I’ve been querying, even though I would like to. I have a short story due at the end of the month and have been having trouble with that, too. It happens! It’s hard when you’re balancing work and other things, too. I wish you much ease and inspiration for writing the rest of SUNLESS GROUND. Thank you for this vlog! 💜

I hope everything will be goin' well sometime. Times come when You really need to relax and do almost nothing just not to burn out. And as for me, you need to enjoy the benefits of those times. I know for some people hard work is fun, but personally, after a long day / week, / month, you have to have a little bit of rest. Thank you for recording this! Best regards from an Ukrainian! Keep it up, and if you don't feel like writing, just stop for some time, but not quit!
