I've only ever played origami king and am currently playing ttyd and both are great in my opinion.

One thing that wasn’t mentioned were the boss themes. The only songs that can match them are the Bowser themes from Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Mario 64 (both normal and final Bowser), and maybe In The Final from BIS.

The black paint probably would've had a personality similar to venom, but MUCH more aggressive

Personally, Bobby's death just made me roll my eyes; after a LONG tradition of Bob-omb party members and NPCs treating exploding as harmless, to have it suddenly become this big, tragic, perma-death event just felt like a really obvious play for drama points. I just couldn't be affected by it.

My dumbass thought Bobby’s red box was a car-jack and I was genuinely surprised when it was a fuse (I may be stupid)

Honestly, I hope Nintendo makes a color splash remake or port. I played and have yet to finish, but my wii U gameplay joystick is broken.

I have a theory in browsers feary or what ever it called I think the black goo is the black paint ok here me out any time you touch it you get hit and rake damage and in that game bowser was just doing stuff that he does not usely do and bowser Jr was talking about it near the start of the game so I belive the black paint is the black goo plus bowser Jr example of showing what happend was useing paint I might be stupid

It’s great knowing that a funny game that I played when I was younger actually had that much more thought put into it. Honestly great video and now I’m willing to play the other paper Mario games, I’m that is if I can reasonably pay for them.

As a kid i liked sticker star (not as much the more repeat plays i did growing up) From the modern pm ganes I just want a fun game with a hint of difficulty a reason to fight and enemies and unique npcs/places As someone who played spm, sticker star, pm, and ttyd soon im that order, I think that without leveling up there is no incentive to fight really I personally believe that just having a level up system and making tweaks to the modern battle systems would do plenty for me personally

I remember playing Earthbound when it came out and Poo's Mu training was legitimately disturbing to me. But, I was also like 12 years old. Then I replayed it as an adult, and yep... still kinda disturbing lol. Even today, Giygas is still one of the most unsettling bosses I've come across.

I like filling out the sticker museum and collecting all the real world things and I get it sticker star is very different from the previous three games and such a trend for the next two that a lot of people don’t like but I think people don’t like it more because it’s different than because it’s bad on its own merit

Never played myself, but apparently Vivian in TTYD was heavily implied to be trans, and this has been all but confirmed in the remake.

The ideal outcome for the franchise going forward would be to take the original and modern trilogies, and bring them together to get the best of both worlds and please everyone. Which makes it all the sadder and more frustrating when both sides of the conflict firmly believe the only correct solution is to pretend the "opposing" trilogy never existed/isn't even part of the same series, giving an entire audience the middle finger while refusing to call them "true fans" or show any consideration to what they enjoy about Paper Mario. So long as the community refuses to change in that regard, I refuse to consider myself a part of it like I used to. I want none of that "we don't talk about anything past Super", nor any of that "TTYD elitists ruin everything", nor even the ongoing "TTYD remake will save this entire series, the modern trilogy won't be missed"; I just want a community that actually has the basic decency to respect each other without thinking of each other as harmful pests or laughingstocks.
