    Hey Robert, I am on HP Omen 15 with i7 9759H 2.60Ghz CPU and 32GB of RAM max. and I am planning to get both HO and FO in the coming black Friday. Do you think my specs will hold them both? Thanks, great vid :)

      Hey! That’s exciting to hear they’re coming in the mail today! I’m personally not overly familiar with HP and only have used Macs but that said, I think you should be okay! So long as you’re not overloading or playing everything all at once. Plus the purge option is your friend so long as you keep the libraries on SSDs! I also have 32GB of RAM so that shouldn’t be a problem! Excited for you to test it all out!

    What a wonderful idea! I have a lot of composer friends, and a mastermind group seems like a fantastic way to keep everyone motivated and inspired. It's incredible how you can uplift each other and create a positive atmosphere. However, I’m curious about how you might handle potential challenges, like if someone lands a music gig that others were hoping for. Have you thought about how to navigate any feelings of jealousy or resentment that could arise? I’ve seen that happen before, and it can make transparency among like-minded composers a bit tricky.

    • @RobertRodriguezMusic
      @RobertRodriguezMusic Před 14 dny

      Thanks Leah!! It’s really been an incredible experience so far! Such a great question! One thing I would highly suggest during the structure phase (when you’re all figuring out when to meet and what to discuss) is to create a set of ground rules & expectations from the very start. Everyone should agree to come to the meeting viewing the others as collaborators- not competition. Conflict is okay and doesn't need to be avoided at all cost so long as everyone is open, honest, and respectful! Jealousy can be normal but it’s also important to remember that one project likely isn’t going to make or break the momentum in your career! Instead that kind of resentment can hold us back from supporting the friends we’d hope would support us if the roles were reversed! So just be sure to set up those ground rules from the start and ideally connect with others who want to grow together!

      I definitely agree with the idea! I think the biggest thing is being able to inspire one another is something that's so helpful. I can definitely say trying to motivate yourself is soo hard and can be demoralizing especially if the people close by don't really know what you do. 🥰 I almost think it's like a friendly rivalry where it's not really competing but more like challenging and pushing each other to do better!

    EW fixed it in Opus 1.5. THANKS! Now, when they give us pre-made articulation maps, they can be exported to Logic AND triggers, like keyswitches, can be edited in Logic's Articulation Editor's leftmost tab. But with a large set, is there a way to shift a whole Opus set, that generally starts on C 0, down to start on C -2 (so you're never triggering articulations by playing low on your keyboard)? without tediously hand editing each articulation's keyswitch in Opus?

    Is there a “musio” online plug-in that opens in your daw? How does it load then? How did you arrive at your first screen? Through your daw? And what happens to your samples that you chose to use? Do you save them as part of the song/project or do you save them where the rest of your non musio libraries are? (eg: external ssd etc) You didn’t show how to load the player in your daw. Is it a .dll plug-in? Do you have to install it separately? These are the very first no brainer questions you should have answered but I am still deep into your video and still haven’t found them.

    I have a problem with my Violins, the legato sections sound way too quite and the staccato sections sound too loud - is their a way to adjust the gain on specific articulations so i dont have to change the velocity which ruins to character of the sounds or add bunch of compression that just sounds awful? Edit: Actually I found what i wanted. Its a bit silly of me that i didnt find it already! On the main player page, select the articulations tab and the gain knobs fopr all the different articulation will be their!

    • @RobertRodriguezMusic
      @RobertRodriguezMusic Před měsícem

      Hey! In general, short samples sound louder or aggressive compared to longer samples. If it’s all on a single track, you could lower the expression CC during the moments of short notes. Alternatively, you could have one track for just the longs and one track for just the shorts! Unfortunately individual control is my main downside to everything on a single track!

    so after this update, would you say that it's basically on par with Albion One? I'm trying to avoid Kontakt but don't want to miss any content available in Albion One.

    • @RobertRodriguezMusic
      @RobertRodriguezMusic Před měsícem

      Hey! I saw this comment and the one on the other video too! That’s a good question. In general, all Albion libraries are general section libraries. So, you’ll often see high and low strings, brass, winds, etc. The biggest difference is what you intend on using the library for. Albion is more that classic orchestra sound whereas Colossus is more that aggressive, massive, epic sound. Technically you can use either to write orchestral/ cinematic music but definitely expect the sound to be different from one another!

    • @videomarknet
      @videomarknet Před měsícem

      @@RobertRodriguezMusic thanks Robert for taking the time to respond. After watching some more videos I'm almost certain I'll go for Albion Colossus. I just want to avoid the Kontakt Player, I have the spitfire audio app already (for SO Discover). My only concern was I would loose eDNA (which is now availaible in Colossus) and some presets like the Brunel Loops or Darwin Percussion. But it looks like they just have been replaced with similar content so Colossus should be a good choice. But thanks for the insights very helpful!

  • @videomarknet
    @videomarknet Před měsícem

    I'm trying to decide between either one.....with the latest update to Colossus is it on par with Albion One in terms of content? And are both being marketed as 'two hand keyboard' orchestra for a more casual / beginner friendly approach? Or is that only true for Albion One?

My wife and I both worry about him but I know what it is to be self-employed in a job I enjoy. I want that for him as well. My wife wants him to get a job and settle down just like his older brother. What matters in life as you say is what YOU want to do and NOT what others want you to be however well-meaning. I'm officially retired but I am not. I still teach and now found a new passion to go alongside my 'job' - composing music from home. And you never know I might even get to be able to write a musical score for something my son is acting in.

    I purchased this software and there is no translation of the Elvish words to any spoken language in the real world. How is anyone supposed to compose an "authentic" passage without that? I contacted support, and at the time of this post, they had no plans to add translations to the word list, and they declined to give me any sort of credit toward future purchases for the inconvenience this has caused. Their support staff were however helpful in relaying the problem upward, and were able to provide some ( but not all ) translations to English.
