For some reason I’m missing the 6th Inning and Top of the 7th (which would’ve included a 19 year-old, pre-Fernandomania Fernando Valenzuela). But it does include a pretty great "futuristic" RCA Selectavision commerc...

LaRussa's biggest mistake was pitching Stottlemyere on short rest. He should have started Alan Benes this game and had Stottlemyere ready for Game 6 if necessary well rested.

my favorite all time braves broadcasters. they made the game enjoyable to watch
We're too far out in the sticks to get cable, so early 95 was when we first got DirecTV on satellite. I watched almost every Braves game in 95. They had the starting rotation (Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Avery), the bullpen (McMichael, Pena, Wohlers, Stanton), the bomb squad (McGriff, Lopez, Justice, Klesko, Chipper), the guys who could hit for average and move runners over (Lemke, Grissom, Blauser), the bench (Mordecai, Smith, Devereux, O'Brien, Kelly). I don't think I went to bed early that whole summer except on off nights.
We should've won the World series in 91, won in 95, and 96. 92 and 99 we weren't as good, but we should've won those 2 for a total of 3 in the 90s
Post season Braves in 91 & 92 was prime time baseball! Back when ML baseball was great!
In this series, the Braves went 26 consecutive scoreless innings until the 9th inning of this game, while the Pirates went scoreless for the last 22 innings of the series. Even with the way pitching is dominating MLB nowadays I doubt we will see anything like this again anytime soon.
YEPPER DEFINITELY MISS FULTON COUNTY STADIUM. I HAVE BEEN A BRAVES FAN FOR 54 YEARS. T B S WAS GREAT.
wish we had the money to keep him or Mark Texiera
Case anyone is wondering the date of this game is AUGUST 14 2003
Brown was on the 1991 Twins team that beat the Braves in that classic World Series - primarily was a pinch-runner on that team
the safety lost game (should have never happened as fumble on 1/2 yard line should have been a touchback). Up 21-6. had the ball.....no 2 point conversions back then. safety, free punt then td and its 21-15
Actually that was the first year of the two-point conversion San Diego scoreboard against San Francisco in the super bowl that they never should have played in l this was Marino's last Best shot
The fumble in the 3rd quarter should have placed the ball at the 20, but the refs made another bad, of many, calls in this game. Pathertic second half.
The 95 chiefs team was actually better regular season, than the 94 and 93 season..
One of my favorite baseball games I've watched . Just beautiful and intense
The 1993 season was so magical and fun for us Braves fans…Wish it would have ended with a WS ring but 🤷🏾♂️
It’s funny a few years later, and you would never walk someone to get to Bonds.
I became an Atlanta Braves fan in 1982 (when I was 10 years old). My brother and I were given a hand me down push-button channel 2-13 13 inch television. The Braves were on TBS (channel 8) where I was raised in Arkansas. After some good teams in 82-83...The Braves suffered some lean years from 1984-1990. My friends made fun of me (many of them were Cardinals fans) for sticking with a 'loser'. However, I kept following them (Baseball America and The Sporting News helped keep me informed on their rebuild efforts via The Draft and Minor League System). 1991 was an amazing up and down/emotional season. Back and forth battle with The Dodgers. Then winning Games 6 and 7 against The Pirates with shutouts in both games in Pittsburgh. The Braves fought Minnesota tooth and nail for 7 games. They just couldnt get that clutch hit when needed (especially in Game 7). Still I look back on 1991 as a fond year. I'll never forget that comeback against The Reds when The Braves were down 6-0 after 1 inning late in that season.

Look it’s bo nix’s first senior year 🤣
I miss the home run music being blared through tv speakers as well. What they do at Truist now is a joke
So sad that JR Richard’s career ended this season. If he was able to continue his career, the Astros easily win this division and likely beat the Phillies in the NLCS (probably the most competitive playoff series in mlb history).
always love rewatching older Braves game. So much nostalgia and really started getting into baseball around 1999 and been watching ever since
1:22:34 Marino runs it in “Kaboom kaboom”! 😂
I was at the cinema that day watching Suburban Commando. Glad I missed all this, and glad I saw the Twins beat the Braves. Also glad I never heard Jack Buck again after
How’s hell treating you Jack Buck? Your son will join you down there someday…hopefully soon.

After that series I thought Avery was going to be a perennial Cy Young contender.
My most enduring memory of Sheffield in Atlanta was one time him hitting a rocket grounder to the left fielder, so hard that it ate him up as if he were playing 3rd. In the early 10's I was working as a valet in Tampa, and one night he pulls up. I park his car, and it reminds me of that play. He comes back out later in the night, and I couldn't stand it anymore. We were alone, so as I pulled his car back up and he was going for the handle I figured I'd never get another opportunity. I told him I'd been a Braves fan my whole life, and one of the craziest things I'd ever seen in a baseball game was that ball he hit, but that I couldn't remember who it was against or who the LF was. Before I could ask him if he happened to remember that one random single he hit in his career, he looks at me, smiles and goes, it was against the Reds, and it was Adam Dunn. We shook hands, and that was it.
Brian Giles was a monster…. One of the more unrecognized/underrated players of his era
Doornink was s DAWG at Washington St#11🏈 ✌️
Gary Sheffield had one of the most violent swings I have seen in my lifetime. The fact he generated that much power with that swing! Those wrists were quick through the zone!
The TD throw by Marino at 47:47 is pure perfection.
Why the hell was Brian Jordan playing 1st??

If the wildcard format was active and divisions realigned, the Braves and Dodgers would've met in the Division Series. The Pirates would've played the winner of the Cards/Padres one-game playoff because they finished tied.
Why were the Houston Astros' road uniforms almost identical to what they would've worn at home during this time period? They were the only Major League Baseball that I'm aware of (past or future) that had virtually all white road uniforms.
I had forgotten how the first inning was a nightmarish combo (for the Cardinals) of seeing-eye hits and poor fielding. As a Braves fan, I was fine with this.
I wish I could that theme Pre-Full rights to MLB tho. It is catchy to me sometimes.
One of the better teams for braves in 98-99
I like that music TBS had pre-Full MLB rights, Someone better post the full theme so I make it a Ringtone.
