Nezh never became a Grand Master
Yep but he did win the Russian championship 5 times - which maybe should have given him the GM title. Also he did have some good results vs Tal and Spassky. Tal at this peak.

I really like the Polerio defense with black, always felt kind of safe in those dynamic and equal situations. Much easier to Play for black than white, at least in the low level mind of mine. Best regards

It's kind of funny. You show this great attacking game. But you criticize the winner, 4 separate times for playing dubious moves.
Yes I am trying to provide objective analysis to the games. Of course it is great if the game is accurate and one way, but in reality mistakes are often made by both sides. I feel that objective analysis helps my own game and other's improve more, rather than being biased in analysis to the winner.
@kingscrusher I own a copy of his best games written by the great player himself.... Did you know he had SIX wins, Five losses and 9 draws vs World Champions. Perhaps, you can mention that. Thx for your Deep analysis

Wiki incorrectly it seems indicates: "He achieved a positive score in the 20 games he contested against World Champions" - Wiki seems incorrect if you make use of Chessgames.com stats. Boris Spassky beat Rashid Nezhmetdinov 3 to 2, with 1 draw. Classical games: Rashid Nezhmetdinov beat Mikhail Tal 3 to 1. Nice tactical move sequences from Rashid, but could it not be argued, that Lillienthal deployed his knights in a seemingly amateurish way? Both on the rim, in no-man's land far away from either defensive or offensive action...
isn't black's pawn on b7 vulnerable to double attack from knight and bishop early on?
