It was a wonderful attack by the young Kazakh GM, always love your analysis. Thanks KC.

Hi KC - I thought the opening by Magnus with b6 and B-a6 was a bit arrogant
and something he wouldn't have tried in really important game.
As you said Magnus ended up with 4 pieces stuck in the wrong corner
leaving his King with insufficient defence.

Carlsen's post game comments are revealing of his state of mind.

King! You should go back to the format where you just showed the chessboard in the video. It allows the viewer to focus on the game while enjoying the pleasing sound of your voice. I know most chess creators use a camera but I liked it better before I think. Not quite sure why. The videos where you'd do 5 min blitz with commentary were some of my favorite. Your voice was so soothing it was almost like chess ASMR. I'd love to see some new ones like that hah.

This is the third analysis that I've seen and it's fascinating to see the differences. Adding it all together I'd hazard a guess (I'm certainly no expert) that the move rook c8 doomed Carlsen as his queen was caught in a position that reminds me of rush hour traffic jams.

Unbelievable how even the world number one could get crushed like this by a significantly lower opponent!

      @@kingscrusherNice!
This made me imagine a potential chess VR game, where you play with huge pieces in a scene like this one.

When our boy Maggie wins no one cares, when he loses it is a big deal. I heard an echo.

Magnus, what the hell? This game was surprising, to say the least..! Good stuff, though..

I don't want to take anything away from the young GM, but really... why is there any need to wear any kind of wearable device to a chess game in this day and age? FIDE should just come straight out and ban the wearing of any device. I don't blame Carlsen for feeling unsettled. Anything can be reverse engineered these days.
