This songs it's an ode to peace. "Brothers" means all mankind. It was performed 79th anniversary of Nelson Mandela. You, me, North Americas, Russians... we all are brothers. "And it's fool to make war to our brothers in arms" it's a reference when the people cross their arms with each other to make a circle or a barrier to defend the rights to be whoever you want, whether you're from.

First heard this on radio Luxembourg when i was a teenager, many many years ago, with my little radio stuffed under my pillow one night. Thought there was a dog in the garden. Truly amazing - loved it ever since.

Let's look at the totality of this masterpiece. The long intro makes us think of time... the vocals, back up vocals and the meaning and the impact of the lyrics. Now add an incredible groove with an iconic solo in the middle of it all. Best song ever.

I love the "slight lull" @ 4:58 & all these think all's well.... until Gilmour unleashes on the voice box! Great solo & love the ending as it trails into "Sheep". This one & the "Comf Numb" solos really stand out to me.

I don't like the commentary throughout the song from multiple people. It distracts too much from the music for me.

Always great to listen to, but the live Pulse version is a better look and listen and a good number 2 to look and listen is Pulse On the turning away!

It takes alot to work out the movie but there is 3 parts to that song the second part comfortably numb means he's lost the plot n he's in a band and they want him on stage there nit bothered about his mental health he sits trying to build a brink wall up around his self feeling sorry for his self all songs x
