High Output Yamaha MT07 | Grunty Lil Thing!
For those of you wondering, here in Australia and a few other countries, Yamaha offers the MT07 in two trims. A restricted power/learner approved variant and the full beans wheelie machine version.
The learner version is far more popular than the HO one as unrestricted licence holders tend to gravitate more towards larger capacity bikes than the HO. Whereas the LAMS MT07 is one of the biggest and funnest bikes accessible to learners
Anyway, in this video, I got to ride the high output version and here is how to went

Please sub for more content. I tried to stay in second gear only, in this video, to see if I can get better at going slow. 3rd gear is the best with my current sprocket setup as it isn't as snappy as first and second but that's not ideal for slow wheelies. Somewhere in WA? ...not far from Perth?
@@pukavita That's correct. It's between Dwellingup and Waroona (The corner of Nanga Road and Nanga Brook Road).

Sounds good.

Lams sounds like A2 restricted bikes in the UK, same here the MT07 is the most popular A2 bike and you can see why. Great video 😁.
I have a soft spot for the MTs coz they brought an accessible type of fun in road bikes at an affordable price. However, the Z should feel like an MT07 on all kinds of illegal substances 😄

Nois😅😅😅😅
Okw time to unsubscibe
Cheers, that'll go a long way 🙏🏾
Are you keeping the Husky or just looking for a more sensible commuter bike? I do like a parallel twin engines though, nice low down grunt like a supermoto. Cheers mate.
The Husky is definitely still in the stable 😁. I was surprised by how punch the MT07 was down low though, especially considering that it was fully stock.
You don't have to move to do it. Just hold it for 5 seconds even while it's lit.
A like and a subscribe from me hope it helps
Much appreciated
Nao tem como saber por esse teste que fez
You don't have 2 grand? Dayum. How, just how? The video skills alone.
😭
We're slowly getting there brother.
music to my ears
i know im late to this but i been riding my 2 stroke 125 for a year now and thinking of getting this when i get my a2 license and restrict it do you think that its a good decision?
Hey mate, if you're comfortable on the 2T and have mastered all the basics, I'd say go for it. If you're transferring from exclusively dirt to road riding, I'd recommend taking it easy initially until you're fully acquainted with road mannerisms. Do you have a dealership local to you where you can test ride the bike?
Wonderful video. I actually preferred camera A for the nightime shots
As you say you can get a more comfortable seat for his bike. Have you ever tried one?
12.987 period
12.987 you are welcome
Try power commander with a proper map. I’ve enjoyed it a lot since Covid
first gear clutch dumping? or another gear?
Mostly second gear for practice. Although third gear is the best with my current gearing (-1 and +3)
hmm okay, ive been trying to figure it out for a while but only have the 701 to learn on 🥴
bro always makes dope content
I appreciate your kind words 🙏🏾
The Joy in that laugh... 2 strokes all about that JOY!
I honestly didn't know what I was missing out until I got one.
@@afrobykr I just bought a John Deere zero turn. So next year or maybe in the fall I'm going to buy a brand new YZ250 2 stroke.
Thank you so much 🤝🤝🤝🤝
No worries mate!
Sick, crazy progress !
Exhaust?
title says stock
Thank you for the video
My pleasure 🙏🏾
My fear with wheelies is that i will total the bike 😂😂. Any tips?
Haha, we all have that fear my brother. Try getting a cheap pit bike, dirt bike or a Grom with crash protection. They're underpowered but will help you master the fundamentals at a much lower speed than say on a Panigale 😅. And if you stack it, all you'll have to do is pick them right up and try again. Once you master using the rear brake, you can then start working on the height.
@@afrobykr yeah that makes sense!! 🤣
This isn’t just dangerous it’s illegal , yea ok that’s why we do it 💀
💀
Sped class behavior
nice !
Nice wheelies mate! I see you've got the back brake well covered, do you have to use it much? Industrial areas are a good place to muck around on a Sunday, I call it responsible wheelieing!
Hey matey! Yeah, brake control takes time and when I'm doing wheelies, I pretty much keep my foot on the rear brake. Balance point is the goal 😅... Slowly getting there
Why my 09 have only tcs 1 how change tcs 2
I have a YZ65
Noice mate!
I'd never buy a used Jeep or a used 701 Supermoto 😎
Man do I miss that sound!!!!
Used to have one?
@@afrobykr My whole life was based on 2 stroke motorcycles. Then, when we got a little older, it was all about SPEED. We owned a Honda CBX (6 cylinder bike) Honda V65, Yamaha VMax and several others. Then, as we got even older, it turned into Harley Davidson's. I finally sold my last bike 4 years ago and have been bike free for the first time I that I can remember.
That's interesting. I started out on fast bikes and have now found myself riding dirt bikes and supermotos. The speed was exhilarating for a while but it's definitely more fun (imho) to throw a light bike around. Hopefully one day, I'll be fortunate enough, like you are, to be free of this addiction 😅
How does it compare to your 450 what made you change? I was thinking about buying a wr450 over one of these so I'm interested to hear your opinion
Honestly, there's not that much of a difference between them for normal riding. I was absolutely in love with my WR450F but unfortunately it got stolen. The WR is quite a bit lighter making it more flickable, more forgiving off-road and potentially more fun on tight turning roads. I had an FI model (2014). The thing could wheelie like there's no tomorrow. The 701 feels slightly more like a road bike with a Supermoto riding position. To me it doesn't feel as raw as a converted WR. The components used also give a more "premium" impression. Mine has been rock solid when it comes to maintenance and the service intervals are longer than the WR. It also has a much bigger fuel tank, so less stopping when having fun. It all depends on your application and the depth of your pocket. You will definitely not be underwhelmed by the WR but knowing human nature, there will be a time when your mind will be wondering what a bigger sumo would feel like.
Where can I get the small black rivets for the carbon?
I got mine from Bunnings, Australia's version of Home Depot. If you are local, I'm happy to give/send my excess to you.
I expect the wr450 to keep up. I have a yz450f its a rocket but havent try the 701. I like to buy one in near future
I thought it was gonna be closer too especially below 100kmph. The other rider was smaller/lighter than me and I've got my bike geared for acceleration (wheelies to be specific). So maybe, that contributed
I think the 701 is faster cause of the weight too
Off-road or on a tight Supermoto track, I'm pretty sure the outcome would be different.
@@afrobykr wr is with limited power from factory. If you mod it it will have the same power as the YZ450F. This dirtbike are more liter then the hyski so it will be nice to compare it with 450 dirtbike peferibly with sm wheels 👌
@@matload444 it is faster cz it make more ponies around 30% more. WR is lighter on the other hand not the hyski
bruh...did you AI that song haha 🔥
Nah 😄. I recorded my vocals over the instrumental haha
@@afrobykr whoa.. i need dat!
The other guy has the magic touch, started first try 😂.
😭
Comes back to idle a little slow so possibly a hair on a lean side but great overall.
Honestly not bad for a LAMS bike.
You’ve ridden monkey, z125, grom etc. how’s this compare? How are the brakes, suspension, comfort for tall person, engine on this?
Is there a way to permanently turn it off ?
Ur letting it idle to much. 2 strokes r meant to rip
Yeah, cheers mate. That's probably why I've been fouling plugs.
