yoooooooooo i just totaled my super sweet fully modded and uncorked 701. A driver in oncoming traffic turned into me...ugh... anyway some broken bones but really a broken heart cos my baby is gone. Best bike I ever owned bro. Drivers fault so fully comped...but if/when I get another bike its gonna be THE SAME.

The 701 is an awesome bike, hands down! It's definitely my favourite bike of the one's I've owned too.

Im picking up my 701 in early March. My body has finally realised it needed something with a more relaxed position than the Tuono that ive had for 6 years.

The Tuono is a totally different beast, but with sumos, you can have the same amount of fun just at lower speeds 🙂
@@afrobykr thank you. The roads here in Central Scotland are in a terrible condition, the longer suspension should help as well.
Well, I guess the bad roads add character to the ride 😄.
One of the first things I'd recommend to get for this bike is a Fueling Dongle. I got mine for $35 AUD on eBay and it improved the bike's idling and eliminated stalling when taking off from a stop.
What would be better if you lived in Texas?(have both twisties and open freeways)
Assuming both 2024 models buying new which is more fun?
Both bikes will provide an endless stream of fun. However, the 701 in my opinion would be better for twisties and the MT09 for open freeways.
The weight of both alone dictates this.
The 701 is more versatile because you can easily go bush bashing on it too (Even though there are people out there that comfortably off-road MTs haha)
I remember being on a group ride on my MT09 and seeing one of the members messing around on his supermoto and I thought to myself, "Jeezzz, that looks fun!"
I'm yet to ride a 2024 MT09 and can't draw a clear line between the two right now.
However, if I could sum it up in a few words, I'd say
"Fun but can also do freeway speeds & offroad = 701/690/GasGas 700"
"Urban comfortable commuter with enough grunt to also be fun = MT09"
