I'm Marshall, I love watches and found a passion for watchmaking. I like to find broken or neglected vintage watches and bring them back to life, restoring history and letting someone enjoy them for years to come. I'm not a watchmaker by trade, but I do love the hobby and I hope you'll see why on this channel!

Marshall restores another vintage watch, this time it's a 1960s military watch that was probably used in Vietnam. He picked it up off of eBay as a "for parts or repair" project, and sure enough it won't run at all. Plus the hands have degraded significantly, so it's quite a project! Restoring a Ford Mustang Novelty Vintage Watch with a Very Strange Issue
zhlédnutí 230KPřed 2 měsíci
Marshall restores another vintage watch! This time it's a quirky novelty watch based on a Ford Mustang steering wheel. These watches have a lot of character and are a lot of fun, but they used low grade movements in them which make them very difficult to restore. Marshall has to find out why the watch hands spin freely, and then get the thing serviced. It's quite an adventure! Support Wristwatc...

Marshall restores another vintage watch, this time it's a Desta watch from the 1960s that belongs to a Patron of his. This watch was on the wrist of a beloved father and husband for 30 years, and when his son inherited it he wanted to have it restored so he could enjoy it himself. Marshall restores a vintage pocket watch from the 1890s that belongs to a friend of his. It's technically running, but could use a lot of help to look and run it's best. Tudor Oyster From the 1950s Needs a Full Vintage Watch Restoration

Marshall restores a vintage Tudor Oyster Prince 34 watch from the 1950s! Tudor is a sub-brand of Rolex, and it often has similar quality for a cheaper price, but it's also been around for a long time and has quite a pedigree itself! This watch features an early automatic rotor winding system, and was listed as "ticking" on the eBay auction. Watch for Rosy restoration Marshall mentions in the vi...

Restoring A Broken Vintage Watch With an Alarm Function!
I don’t know what LCD is or who James Murphy is but the watch is beautiful.
I also have this watch but in 2 tone steel and gold (Plated) - lol. I bought about 14 years ago and it still runs like a charm. I leave it on an auto watch winder.
I had a 71 Lincoln Continental Mark three that had a Cartier clock in it. Cartier made this clock. I don’t know. but it was a mechanical when I got the car. It did not work. I took it out. I got some synthetic oil and just put a couple small drops on a few of the pivot points and it started to work so maybe I could do Watch repairs laughing out loud.
Whale blubber was used for a LOT of things. The fact that it trickled down to creating a tiny watch is an amazing example of hunting, human endurance, and ingenuity.
I would love to send you a $500 fake Rolex to compare with a real Rolex. I think it would be interesting too see the different and quality.
What a FANTASTIC looking watch!
Love your work !!
I never seen you work on a balance wheel. Great job. Love your channel and how you make me feel like im there with you.
? 😮😮Scammer what
WOW! What a handsome old man! Excellent work. Very nostalgic and a wonderful history, long live the family name.
Good morning, Marshall. I love the videos. I must say I am disappointed. I sent you a message on Instagram inquiring about restoring a 50 year old Longines gold watch for my dad. I got a message from Instagram that my account was flagged by you as spam. Really?
Thanks for the generous sentiment, but I could never, ever do what you do.
That was super cool to watch. The end result looked great. G'day from Down Under Australia.
What is the name of your oiler? Or site? Iam a watchmaker from the netherlands and i want that one because the “normal” oilers are a bit to little for me
he forgot to polish the case again
Question - Was it less costly to fix the balance wheel vs buy a whole new one? thank you
2.2 million views Amazing
Okay...I'm an idiot.
maybe someone said this, but did we get the rubber grommets back into the crown??
I'm seeing a battery drill and some mason jars in my future
As I'm watching this while my wife's night club is hosting LCD Soundsystem. They are doing an after party following their back to back to back sold out shows The Paramount in Seattle. I'm going to mention to him that I saw his watch on CZcams when I head to Monkey Loft in a few minutes. Small world. 😁
One question! How to see when a Rolex watch is 100% Rolex Made?
HEY #nkuwan I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day <3
Ugh I was trying to go to sleep but then you said it was James Murphy's watch and I'm all in
LCD Soundsystem and Wristwatch Revival wasn't the crossover I expected, but it was the crossover I needed
Professional traveler here, I either don't take off my watch (out of uniform while commuting), or I place it in my flight case prior to going through TSA to avoid exactly this. I have coworkers that refuse to take off their watches for not only this reason, but for theft. Also, you'll ALWAYS get a "Like" from me with stories of hard working and non-affluent people and their Rolexes.
I'm so glad 😊 that ya caught this, before the scammer was able to carry through. That was a very ugly act 🎬. He was going to scam this very young person by taking his watch ⌚️, and only further scam him by taking his money 💰. This has to be the most brazen act pulled online. I'm glad the watch came to you. It will be safe now, and it'll be returned to it's rightful owner. Your friend, Jeff.
I swear, if I ever need brain surgery, you’re doing it. Your hands are incredibly steady.
I absolutely love watching your videos and all the tools that you have. I would also love to see you do a service on a movement where you use a minimal tools as if you were somebody starting in this hobby. It’s great to see your custom tools that can do specific jobs, it would be great to see how somebody could achieve the same thing with a simpler set of tools
@58:40 the watch jumps 5 seconds, and I was wondering what would cause that...It jumps from the 5, to the 6...Regardless, I'm a huge fan, and I watch all of your videos, and I just got my first Rolex 1500, 1970-71, 1575? I would love for you to check out an issue with the stem or threads the crown is tight but looks like it has a few more threads?
I like these videos. I like to imagine I could do this but I know I can’t afford to do so. I also like to imagine that the narrator has a beard.
Amazing!
Oh my gosh, I just put together that this is Marshall from LR?! (The mat clued me in) Grats on the transition to something new, sir!
Sooooo Cooool When you were working on the balance wheel pivot
Very cool watch. Nice job. Saw you in an ad on TikTok for Magic 😂
Love your content, watching you and others has inspired me to take up the hobby. Small critique is you never balanced the balance wheel after replacing the balance shaft (saw it on another channel/content creators video) You do make it look so simple now I'm doing it myself, hat off to you sir! lol Plus I'm restricted by only having one arm (not my good arm lol) but I'm finding ways to make it work lol
I think ya can get new old stock mainsprings for a majority of these older watches ⌚️. That means they're still made to the original specs. That way, ya can perform 🎭 a total restoration of the watch, including the mainspring, without the watch losing 📉 value. Your friend, Jeff.
Oh heck yes, im just back from a weekend field trip im going to fall asleep so fast to this
Marshall you are a truly a skilled and talented watchmaker!!!!
I like that watch band!
Rock star? Never heard of him
Hi Marshall, fantastic! Question for you, I have an automatic Lucien Rochat (early 90'), never serviced and I am reluctant to take a shop as I received different prices and evaluation. The watch works but since the beginning takes a couple of minutes per day too fast. Would you service it or could suggest any trusty professional who would do that? I do not know the value but I have emotional feeling for it. Thanks
24:13 comparison to 25:15
My 2c on using LockTite is when you are threading in something with it on the screw bits, back it out a couple revolutions and then tighten it down. That forces the locktite to get surface adhesion to the back part of the threads as well. Its minor, but it has just that much more surface to harden against for a better mechanical contact fit.
This is such a beautiful work on such a nice watch! I somehow have the feeling like the old crown tube was a little bit shorter. Might of course be the new gasket that doesn't let you screw down the crown as far as the old one did.
Daft punk is playing at your house
That thing that you call a "four pronged spring" is actually called the "Jesus clip". When it goes flying, you're sposta go. Jesus!
Man, I adore your channel!
Question- so if you wear a Rolex GMT (or GMT II) daily, you should never have to wind it? I have a 2015 BLNR that I never wound, a few months ago it I noticed it would come to a stop intermittently. I sent it to a regional Rolex Service Center, and went back to never winding it, and it stopped again, once so far. I now have taken to winding it once/week when I reset the time (my watch gains 1 second/day, which I think is reasonable). Should I be concerned at all? I plan on being the "grandpa" for this watch and passing it down when the time comes.
When you took the pusher out of the stake for the jeweling tool I RAN to my desk to check mine, and what do you know. Thank you for that!
