I like how the WoL smiles in his fight against Gulool Ja Ja. I feel like this makes the "That, I can't deny." choice in Endwalker canon since this interaction pretty much sets in stone that the WoL fights not only to protect and save people but for the thrill of it too.

I eagerly await the day when Yoko Taro makes another game and somehow ties in the canon of Dark Apocalypse to it. Maybe a reference to how The True Flower can be defeated, maybe find some gear related to XIV or lore entries. The craziest crossover would be a WoL actually goes to whatever this new game is… what a goddamn crossover that would be.

The fact that it’s actually Joshua’s theme, while being so intense, gives the impression that Josh’s whole life has been a struggle. Between sickness, the battle with Ifrit, the displacement of his whole life afterwards, and having the additional illness from sealing Ultimate inside him, makes the word “Away” truly a sentence of doom upon his whole existence. He’s to be pulled away from his family and everything else eventually.

This was difficult for me as WHM. I had to do it on Very Easy after getting by butt handed to me so many times. Went back as DNC for my second playthru and it was easier but still threw me more than enough obstacles to keep me on my toes. As frustrating as the fight can be, I loved it. I love the challenge. On my fourth playthru now (restarted from ARR with an Alt, new job that I haven't tried before) and I'm looking forward to this fight again! Def in my Top 3 favorite Solo Duties (other two are very last Zenos Solo in EW, and "Faded Memories"/Elidibus in ShBr).

When we step into Dawntrail, the trials from Stormblood will be in rotation for the unreal encounter. I strongly suspect I will hear this song again much more. Not only this was a great music track, but also a complex and challenging encounter.

One interesting thing about sophia is her enrage in the extreme version, which is a cannon simulation of what she was like at the height of her power. For the enrage, she summons 8 light circles, or 8 dark circles, a scenario intentionally impossible to balance. So ultimately, to ensure her own survival, she is willing to abandon everything she claims to represent. She’s no Ramuh, that’s for certain.

It’s amazing to me how the Chinese do this with practically everything now in modern times.
