That was a nice bit of flying! Thanks for sharing it with us. `What a lot of cormorants (or shags) in one place! How far from the wreck were you located?
Giving more money to Nikla's Ferguson project is madness. Billions of pounds have been washed down the Clyde already, when you include lost tourism opportunities, replacement ferry hire, foreign welders and alternative travel costs to name but a few.... The yard could well go burst before new burning, plating/bending facilities are built. These could have been put in place several years ago when new facilities were invested in...... Bungle after bungle will continue with a wee lassie in charge who knows nothing about how the industry and it's workforce behave!
Saw this yesterday from the saltings, shame cannot visit close up
Naw, the Bluebell Polka has nothin tae dae wi the waverly song. The waverley song yaises the tune 'Let's have a Ceilidh'.
a criminal gang stealing taxpayer money.
Lovely footage
10th May 2024 and the MV "Rust Bucket" is still not in service. The Americans put a man on the moon in the same time as the SNP commissioned, launched, messed around and............................???? this ship. It's not like the workers of the Clyde were outside of their comfort zone building 2 ships.
You're are an embarrassment
It was always the sugar ship. Sailed round it a few times.
Shame about the music...
Thanks Alan
Absolute pleasure mate, thanks for sharing! Il look forward to your next videos 👍
Lovely footage of the launch, Thankyou for sharing, one for the history books 🙂 new sub from me 👌
Thanks for comment and sub 👍
Great drone footage.
Prediction.....it will breakdown on multiple occasions
Good one Jim. You’re braver than me flying in the wind conditions that day. Excellent video.
Thanks Jim, the wee Mini 3 Pro handled the wind well.
finally, what a scottish circus.
I was up there Friday to Sunday just before to photograph a wedding on the Saturday. We did the photos at the castle next to this dock. Lovely ship.
Surprised it didn’t sink with all the rust inside. But it’s not something to be proud of a ferry that’s five years over term and 100’s of millions over budget and let’s face it if you were wanting a ship built you’d stay a million miles away from Fergusson Marine what a blight on the Scottish taxpayer and hopefully it’ll be shut down soon to save us all paying to keep it open
It nearly ended up in Helensburgh 😮
Glen Rosa is a 102-meter dual fuel vessel that will be capable of operating on liquefied natural gas and marine gas oil. It will have a capacity to carry up to 852 passengers plus at least 127 cars or 16 trucks. And it’s the word’s first ferry with this dual capability. Another first for Scotland.
Is it not the second - Glen Sannox being the first?
All these clueless comments🤦🏻♂️
Thats the furthest it will sail in the next 2 years......😮😮
How are we not celebrating this. I am not SNP or Yes voter, but this is great for the Port and Greenock community. For the Clyde, and for Scottish shipbuilding. Same with the new huge Navy ship building Hall . Being built in Govan. Plus the massive yard in Rosyth.
At a guess I'd say we're not celebrating it because it has been an absolute shit show. Has it been built in Northern England, this ferry would be in its third year of service.
@typhoon2827 It has been a shit show bud. But it is, what it is. The SNP have been found out to be as corrupt as the Tories. Giving big contracts to donors with our money. Let's celebrate twi Scottish built vessels though. However late.
Some people are remarkably delusional. Years late and many times over budget. Now watch it be totally unreliable when it goes into service! Meanwhile in Turkey additional ferries for Calmac are being built on schedule and on budget. Speaks volumes about how the UK is already a second world country, soon to be third world and irrelevant.
I'm surprised everyone associated with this exercise in "SNP & Greens" vanity had the effrontery to show up for the launch. Perhaps more appropriate to have done it at 00:01 hrs on April 1st?
Great film you captured the launch of the Glen Rosa very well.
Brilliant for Scotland ❤
I’m guessing this is the last Ship to be built at this yard? Well done SNP for your incompetence and interference……..Shame on you. 👎👎👎
After being saved from closure in 2019 by the Scottish government. Unlike many other shipyards in the UK that have closed. Ferguson marine the last shipbuilding yard on the lower Clyde is still open and employing 400 people in Inverclyde. Ferguson marine still has some work with Glen Rosa, it also has some work from the ministry of defence. Ferguson marine and the Unions are lobbying for the Scottish government to give Ferguson marine the contract for ten smaller ferries that the Scottish government is going to order.
Why are they celebrating a umpteen years late and hundreds of millions over budget begers belief.
That was like watching someone constipated pushing out a tight jobie for 4 years. It's a shame after 4 years it still has to be pulled along with tug boats? Its still an empty shell?
Clueless comment
NOT before time I have to say. A diabolical and bloody expensive saga.
Interesting ... Wowwwwwwww ☘ And New Subscriber ☘
There is something dramatic about seeing a ship going down the slipway and taking the plunge into its "natural habitat". Great to see a ship being launched like they used to be instead of being put together in sections and floated out. Nice footage.
Although it took so long and was well over budget, the amount of child like , unnecessary downright nasty comments on here, just shows the calibre of many posters. And as for the " Scottish media" hatchet job turning a launch into a political hate fest, well shame on them all.
Thanks for comment Alex, I do this as a hobby for viewers and part time commercial work. I agree with you to see all the negative comments attached to video has got me to the point I may remove the video from CZcams.
Most people have no idea , as an employee of Fergusons for the past 6 years i can tell you now the workforce has it in them to produce . The finances are well documented as we all know but yesterday was a proud moment for all involved . The yard provides a good standard of living for residents of Inverclyde such as myself and hopefully for many generations to come.
Very realistic painting or AI whatever
Sad to say, if FERGUSON MARINE was your family pet, you'd be taking it to the local vet to have it put it out of its misery. For POLICAL reasons, Scottish taxpayers were seriously MUGGED for 100's of mi££ions - but there's no money to repair potholes on roads. ☹
Finally!
Good grief there's hardly any outdoor seating area compared to the Caley Isles!
It's a ferry not a cruise ship, would you sit outside in a winter gale?
Yes a lot of people like to sit outside to watch the scenery and wildlife not to mention dog owners. During Covid outside were a bonus.
The question must be, will she stay afloat after all the time it’s taken to build her.
Why are the thrusters above the water line, is the ferry just a empty shell. Thrusters don’t work if they are not below the water line.
She was launched with a lot of internal fitting out still to do which will add quite a bit of weight bringing it down to the waterline. The launch weight has to be kept down to the minimum to allow her to move more easily down the slipway, too much weight would possibly stop her moving needing a push by hysdraulic rams to get her in the water.
An interesting display of a ship’s mass and momentum.
For those of us unfamiliar, I'm in Australia for instance, some commentary and details about the ship would be welcome.
Hi, look up Scottish ferry fiasco.
Great video. The ship looks good but it should at that price!
It is made of solid gold
The ferries are late and over budget, but in that time we had covid, the torys crashing the economy and, as anyone in the engineering sector knows, eye watering raw material price rises. Thisis ultimately what success looks like. These guys have worked through the tough times, they haven't given in to uk media daily onslaught, they havent closed the doors. Theyard is still there and Scotland nowhas two working ferries. Lessons will be learned and going forward it would be great to see these contracts being kept on these shores. The torys and labour would have xlosed this yard, then what would Scotland have?
The ferries are late but in that time we had the snp/ greens. Enough said.
So £400+ million to save 92 jobs, you tell us if that was money well spent.
@@daffytree2605 it was money well spent. Scotland has 2 ferries and the Clyde has a skilled workforce. Now tell us if HS2 has been money well spent? 65 billion!!!!! And what do we get in Scotland for it? Absolutely zero!
@@davidorrell764 as I'm Scottish I fail to see your point, please show me the order book for Ferguson marine,as one has not yet finished sea trials and glen rossa is at least 18 months away from service,so we'll done SNP yet another triumph 🤡

Brilliant video! Well done, and many thanks! (When I was small, watching old film of liners and warships being launched, I used to think that the ship was just balanced precariously on the slipway, and the hefty lady in fur coat and tiara knocked it into the sea with the champagne bottle!)
That small ship needs 3 bow thrusters? She ain't the QM2
It's just a matter of manoeuvrability, really. Adrossan harbour is on the small side, especially the calmac dock, which requires a tight, practically 90° turn after entering the breakwater.
Thank you for the beautiful footage. It will be used in many historical features in years to come, I’m sure.
Thanks 👍
Fabulous job
Really nice video dude, thanks.
Is thos one of fish pixies ferries?
Tiny ferry took how long?
Who cares it’s now sailing 😂
