  • St. Peter's Seminary is a disused Roman Catholic seminary near Cardross, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Designed by the firm of Gillespie, Kidd & Coia, it has been described by the international architecture conservation organisation DOCOMOMO as a modern "building of world significance".[1] It is one of only 42 post-war buildings in Scotland to be listed at Category A, the highest level of protection for a building of "special architectural or historic interest".[2][3] It has been abandoned since the end of the 1980s, and is currently in a ruinous state. It was announced in early 2015 that the site had been handed over to artist Angus Farquhar, with the intention that part of it will become an arts venue.[4]

Brilliant footage. The drone shots certainly show the sheer scale of this place. Good choice of sound track. Well done!

Jim, I used to visit the seminary buildings regularly around 1988/89 when I stayed with my uncle in the now demolished Kilmahew house which was also a beautiful building, very Gothic inside, after the seminary been abandoned it was easy to get into, all the wooden roofs, the outer wood walls, the trainee priests upper bedrooms, wooden stairs, offices, kitchen & dining room were all still in situ & was a beautiful building inside, then the scrap merchants, the neds & fire bugs destroyed it.

Apparently in early 1990 the modern buildings were in visible disrepair but Kilmahew House was still in good nick. Security was removed by 1992 and vandalism escalated.
