I had a good friend who bought a house with an HOA. One day, someone from the HOA entered his backyard via his garage to inspect his fence. There was nothing wrong with the fence. There was no knock, no call, no letter, no warning; my friend saw someone in his backyard, grabbed his rifle, and confronted the individual (he never pointed the gun but kept it at his side). The long story short, the police came, and the HOA guy was cited for trespassing.

Back in the 60's (when I was 16), I purchased a blank gun here and cherished it. The blanks were allowed to discharge through the partially blocked barrel so you weren't able to shoot an actual round - although an actual bullet wouldn't fit in the cylinder anyway...and if you somehow managed to squeeze a real round in there, the gun would simply blow up because the cylinder and barrel were intentionally slightly misaligned. Then, turning 18 - and still being dumb - I thought "what would happen if I discharged the gun underwater? (we had a pool in our backyard). So I laid next to the pool and shoved the gun (and hand) under the water and pulled the trigger. Result: the entire pistol blew up into pieces which slowly floated to the bottom of the pool...lots of bubbles...and my hand was numb for a couple of days. I went to Knott's Berry Farm to replace it, but they had stopped selling them by then. So when you see James Bond have a gunfight underwater, it's b.s. That won't work. I sure wish I still had that blank gun.
