They're not meant to hold water, yours will rust out well before it's time if you dont clear the drain. The band around the fan blades helps the fan blow more efficiently and make less fan noise.

as someone who does selective demolition commercially, and a sawzall is my every day tool, i sheer the whole blade off where that pin connects all the time. We burn out sawzalls to their limits and then a extra mile after that. Usually if that pin area on the blade fails its user error. In his case it seems like it was just from use. Diablo blades are good blades. But for straight metal cutting ill use Torch blades. The only time we have diablo blades is when we get new sawzalls they come with a couple diablos. I usually use them for wood or bi metal. Usually if the blades get jammed and grab you can snap the link easy.

they developed a tool called a wedge it doesn't have to be plastic or metal it could even be wood but it simply holds tension slightly on the slab enough that the blades not pinch gripped like s brakes calipers that and letting the weight of the tool do the cutting not forcing it like it owes you money 💰 or in a time rush ... it's just much quicker to go slow and right not heating the blade on sticky tree sap and idk if you oiled your blade but that can help even a wax coating to shed the excess friction which the wedge is supposed to help remove... anyways good luck
