"Now I'm Here" is the band's second single in the album. Written by May while at the hospital, it was recorded during the last week of the sessions, with May playing piano. The song relies a lot on delay machines, foreshadowing "The Prophet's Song".

This is a weird track. Lily of the valley is euphemism for a village prostitute. 'Serpent of the nile, relieve me' refers to penetration. Basically the song is about a man going looking for a gay prostitute but everyone he meets tell him no.
Brighton Rock has another fabulous Brian May Solo, too.

That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn’t lose to anyone.

This was the closing theme for a TV documentary I saw (in my teens) in which students in a classroom were asked to cover their faces and raise their hands if they had ever thought of suicide as "the way out." More than half of them raised their hands. This song thus sent the perfect closing message for this show. Thank you, Freddie, for saving so many lives - too bad you couldn't save your own. Rest in peace.
