Even without VAR,Ikpeba obviously scored his penalty. That day was Hayatou's birthday and he already demanded for a birthday gift. So,the robbery doesn't come as a surprise but it's so sad for African football.
Thid beating is too much
I can still recall. It was on a Sunday.Nigeria leveled back from 2 goals down. The Super Eagles didn't start well and the Nigerian defence struggled with the skills & pace of Mboma & Eto'o.And the Tunisia referee added salt to injury by disallowing Ikpeba's Penalty goal. All these resulted in Nigeria's defeat. It was so painful
Wow!Final played by amazing stars.
هذه بطولة الجزاءر بدون منازع لولا الحظ
Ik my man
It was my first ever afcon i watched I was 9 and i suppored my nation which is Morocco But i was a big fan of the Cameroon team What a lovely days 😢
Ikpeba ball is a clear goal
the most beautiful thing about Africa football is the lovely crowds in the stadium
Excellent team in that era,Cameroon did well at Espana 82 and they built on that by winning 2 out of the next 3 AFCON titles ( unlucky not win 3 in a row) and then of course entertaining at Italia 90.I love that 2nd goal, the surging run from Abega,1-2 with Milla and then slotting the ball into the bottom corner.
Ikpeba scored and the linesman said itbwas nit a goal. Too sad! WHAT A CLEAR GOAL.
Came in from the future😂… It’s nice beating y’all today
Do realize when we won Nigeria in 2000 we got a title? 😂 😂. Three times. You won cameroon and have no title. Even in the past when Nigeria eliminates Cameroon, Nigeria eventually gets eliminated and leave the tournament with no title. 😂. It feels good to win your strong rival tho. I feel you.
🌚🌚🌚 I’ll be back on Sunday 🙄
Hope you are back.😂😂😂. Only God knows when you will have another title. Congrats tho. It was a tough tournament..
@@yannickndouanla586I’m back 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 It was so sadddd 😅
It shall be well brother. You already have a good team, just a little adjustments. Next afcon no far.
Life before VAR (3-4). With VAR (4-4) on these penalty shootouts
The year 2000 CAN's final remains the toughest and the best!
شكون جا من عند الشوالي؟
Quand je pense qu'on ne respecte pas ces anciennes gloire du cameroun CA me fait tres Mal......
The referee didn't see Victor's penalty because the floor lights were blurry that night.
Nigeria 🇳🇬 won this match but the referee messed things up for us. Thank God for Goal-line technology. I was in Kaduna that year and it was sad to see us lose on our home soil. God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬 God bless Africa 💖
Ikpepa's goal should have been validated ,it was an error due to the lack of VAR
How can you say that
Nigeria didn't qualify for Germany 2006 FIFA world cup after the Algeria's defeat away match.
Le continent
Cameroon was one scary team back then, i hated this game so much
We took the French to the cleaners
It's a derby because Saudi Arabia is identical to Nigeria both for the colors of the shirt and for the players who are African
God bless Nigeria
Over the years I'm a Cameroon fan from Kenya but Nigeria was robbed in this match.
This is the team that did Africa proud. Nigeria what happened? I am from Kenya I remember watching this match with my dad . How I miss this team. This team was more than capable of bringing the cup to Africa. This team made the world recognize Africa in football. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You are right the team still looks good then. But the class of 1994 is still the best. Followed by 1996 Olympic team, then 1998 world cup team in order. This is 2009 team not bad but it has started losing it face, that is legendary post Okocha era i think, you can see King KANU there the team not bad then.
What happened to this team ? Likely some senior players passed their best bribed their way into the starting 11, after watching his game can you believe that the Nigerian right wingers Ike uche wasn't picked for the 2010 world cup 😅 , can you believe yakubu of boro was starting ahead of obafemi Martins Of inter Milan 😅. So I hope you got the idea . Remember the empty net yakubu missed in the 2010 world cup game against south Korea , lmao .
Why would you spoil the whole game in the description like that.
This team was so good with arrays of stars unfortunately we had a bad manager who believe more in Aiyegbeni over Nsofor and Martin's.
Where is Sani Emmanuel and Stanley Okoro. Chai
We didn't lose without a fight up Nigeria, congratulations to our brothers Cameroon the game was great♥️
Where's the Algerian team!!!!???
Naija Okocha goal was the highlight of the final
Ikpeba penalty was a goal, I wish VAR was available then
🇲🇿 🇲🇿 🇲🇿 🇲🇿 Superior
Nigeria robbed the penalt of Viktor Ikpepa it was a goal
They feared Jay Jay that year

This is the only one Cameroun defeated Nigeria, others are fluke. Franco- Hayatou assists. Watch the Maroc 1988 and Nigeria-Ghana 2000 finals.
Qqqqqq
VAR is important. The only right defeat Nigeria suffered from Cameroun was in 1984 in Ivory Coast. The rest was robbery by Franco phone -CAF connection. Check and watch the Marroc 1988 finals and Lagos 2000 finals. Nigeria was robbed.
2007-2013 the worst French national team of football of History

the old eagles....
Why didn’t this coach play Babangida from the start?
Ter Stegen of Barcelona, Bernd Leno of Arsenal, Mario Götze, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, Kevin Volland of Monaco. Some of them like Florian Trinks retired because of a serious ankle injury. Several players in this German team went on to win World Cups and Champions Leagues, while the Nigerian old men pretending to be teenagers faded into oblivion and irrelevance where they belong.
Are you the who created them
Even Neymar played in this competition
Ok na i wasn’t born
