The crank is loosening because 1 its not torqued properly and 2 by starting drill one it fires the socket causes it to to so because the spin faster than drill can release

My son asked if I could look at his wife’s Grand Daddy’s John Deer, it wouldn’t start. As it turns out it was a fuse. He asked me if I knew anything about 1971 sears suburban riding mower. He was in the middle of a restore on his 1971 sears suburban riding mower before he had to have brain surgery. Boy I would love to finish it for him but don’t know much about old mowers.

I have one just like yours except the "power-sharp" cutting stone part is missing. I think the paint on yours is in better shape. Someone took better care of it. Thanks for showing this.

Here it is 2023, checking in , still got most the fleet, no shed time to tinker lately. Time changes alot of things i guess. You tube hasnt been happy with me , so i kept a couple fleet videos and removed the rest. Hope everything is well , keep tinkering.

Kool. This video is a year old so I'm sure you figured out your missing a hand hydraulic pump that mounts on the side of your sears and a hydraulic cylinder that bolts on the right hand side of the flail in the two Eyelets holds. As you pump the hand pump it will raise the flail. sadly these are really heavy and they are hard to steer. Oh and there should be two springs that attach to the back of the flail and hook to the top eyelets holes on your front axle. I see your missing the belt cover on the left as well. I just got one of these and I'm missing the hand pump and mule drive lol.

Diesel is a good way to flush transaxle Wd40 in a pinch. Transmission fluid works Dont run it under a load, no heavy work when flushing transaxle

When a screw goes into the top of the chamber most of the time it will wedge under a valve and bend it.

Had one. Original tractor looked much better. Mowed 3 foot grass every 2 weeks. Lasted 12 years. Now lucky to last 3 yrs

Had a stock 300hp 351Cleveland, against a stock 340 mopar in a demon, not even close, got destroyed by the mopar, Cleveland need a bigger cam, headers and bigger carb, then they were respectable. Hats off to the 340 and dz 302!

I happen to have an emaculate three point hitch with pins and chains still attached. I also have the crossbar that joins the two drawbars for a trailer hitch ball. Very rare!!!

I have one of these Sears Suburban Tractors that I would like to sell. Can someone please tell me what it might be worth? It is not in running order and has not run since the early 80's I guess. Its blue with orange wheels. It has 3 vent sections on each side of the hood. Thanks!

Great mowers that were built like tanks. I have an SS15 that I used for years as a lawn mower, light duty bush hog and even a scrap blade after I welded a 3/8 thick metal strip along the front of the deck. It worked great. I don't use it anymore as I have a zero turn but, I just can't bear to sell it. She's a good old girl and part of my history.

9:17, they must have made those tillers till the early 90s,. I never would have thought that till I saw saw one in a guy's garage, with was the craftsman green and it had a sleeve hitch instead of a three point. This tiller looks like it was paired with the newer style Sears GT tractors which also had a 3 point hitch.
