I was chastised and bullied by my mother and my community midwife for not being able to BF my first baby. I was in floods of tears the whole way through my pregnancy. Had my daughter by emergency C section, was dumped onto a ward, and had a "BF Support" Nurse ram my baby's head into my chest so much that my baby ended up with a cut lip and bruising, and my chest was covered with bruising. They let me sit from 10am until 8pm at night struggling and being bullied into BF my baby. When the night team came in, they were horrified by the distress me and my baby were in, that they got a matron and a PALS person (complaints) to see to me, and were absolutely amazing at helping to undo the 8.5months worth of trauma plus bad care I had received all over not being able to BF!

God curse those people

My mom tried to breastfeed me and my sister but she told us she could never produce enough, she was worried she was starving us so she switched to formula. She couldn’t produce the normal amount you’re supposed to be.

My obgyn and nurse said "wow your baby was well fed!" complimenting the umbilical cord saying it was beautiful and thick, I never knew or even thought I would be complimented in such a way lol

I have never been pregnant, but along with being on 20mg prescription fentanyl, 30mg prescription morphine, 500mg rx naproxen, max dose plaquenil (hydroxycloroquine), methocarbomal, and some other stuff i have gotten multiple epidurals regularly since i was a little kid. I really don't understand how anyone thinks they just erase all pain in any context. They absolutely help, but they don't take all the pain away, neither does 20mg of fentanyl. I wish people would stop overexagerating the effects of these things.

So in active labor with our 4 th child my husband lays down on the cot and sleeps. The sweet nurses come in look at him and say you ‘would think he is the one in labor’

My friend's wife immediately zonked out after she got hers, he was helping her back into bed and she already started snoring. After she woke up she just played on the Nintendo Switch they share.

I struggled to breastfeed my daughter for the first three months, and every day, I felt like quitting, but despite that, I was determined to push it through. At 20 weeks, my daughter is still breastfed; she is also on solids and has been since six months.

My friend had this issue too, "Put him on formula because nursing him takes time away from ME!" I've never seen my friend's husband look that enraged in my life, just stared at his MIL like he was gonna slug her in the face until she slinked away.

Your the best nurse ever! I hope in the future I will have one like you. This is a career path that I have been thinking about and I love your videos so do so much! ❤

Ah, the trend that just won’t go away

That is her child, not yours. No mother should be shamed into doing something she doesnt want to. Baby formula is bad for babies unless you can find a clean brand. One of the first ingredients for most formula is between soybean oil and high fructose corn syrup. And dont get me started on several recalls since the shortage of 2020 not to mention expensive. If you can breastfeed than do you. If you cant, try and find alternatives so baby can have healthy development and/or cost effective.

I’m so glad mines just sat and was there , we’d have convos and then just sit patiently even my bfs family never had them stress me out just the occasional check up then they’d sit back and wait 🤣

The amount of bodily fluids that I get everywhere, I would feel terrible wearing something so pretty. I would totally rock it postpartum though.

Or the nursery nurse snapping at me that she wants to give my baby formula while I’m waiting on pain meds post emergency C-section when the option they planned to do failed so I had no pain relief due to medically needing to stop my epidural due to a bad response… crying through my first attempt at breastfeeding was not my plan but didn’t want forced formula either.

Nah, I honestly didn't care. I don't shave for my husband, so why shave for the doctors and nurses? ....I do wonder if my bush is just not that bad, though? I don't think mine was insane anyway for me to be embarrassed.
