Never been pregnant, but I can totally vouch for the "distract yourself from your pain with other pain" method just generally. Any distraction can work. You just need something, whatever it may be, to pull your mind away from hyperfocusing on the pain.
Just gave birth a few weeks ago without any medication for the second time, and it was my first time using the comb technique. I happen to have that exact comb and it was great! Not magic, haha labor was still painful and intense, but I particularly enjoyed using it towards the beginning. Definitely recommend at least trying!
Congratulations 🎊 would you say that an unmedicated labor made recovery easier? Did you have an at home birth with a midwife?
@@Cindy99765 since I haven’t tried any other birthing methods, I’m sorry but I really can’t say! Both were water births in a birthing center with CNMs and great experiences each time. I’d say anything you could do to help prevent tearing might be the number one best way to make for an easier recovery. I tore slightly my first time, and this time I didn’t tear at all and recover was sooo much faster!
30 weeks and I’m obsessed with all of your videos. So helpful!❤
Glad you like them!
I used a birth comb and it was awesome!!!! Such a life saver and I passed on my same comb to two other moms who said it was such a huge help during labor too! Big fan of it. Read about it in one of Penny Simkin’s books
I wish I'd known about the comb technique with my second labour (unmedicated). I think I kind of hypnotized myself by focusing on my breathing. Extra tools in the tool box can't hurt though!
I tried the comb trick with my first baby. It did absolutely nothing. But I was on Pitocin and in a constant state of blinding pain (no “in between contractions”).
The day i went into active labor it was like 0-60. I remember starting to feel like it was juat braxton hicks because i was 38 weeks. Uncomfortable but manageable and then i hopped in the bath. About 10 mins later, they were 5 mins apart. On the way to the hospital they were 3-4 mins very tense and about a minute long, so by the time one was done another one was on the horizon. I came into the hospital, having been in active labor for about an hour, maybe. I couldn't talk through them, and the nurses were helping me breathe through them when i got there. Freaking angels. I was 7 cm. They definitely admitted me.
I used a comb with my 3rd, and did not help at all. Was still screaming my head off bc it just went too fast and I could not control my mind, which is unlike me.
Love you so so much Anna❤ I wanna have kids when I'm older! So thanks for the tips ❤❤
And I'm First
GRWM please?
I wish i would’ve known this when I had my baby Friday😭. I wanted to do it naturally so bad but couldn’t do it.
Comb didn't help at all but I was having back labor. And I squeezed it so tight I started bleeding.
Oh no!
Back labor is the worst!
I need a what to actually bring to the hospital bag! Do I need clothes for my baby or do I just need the going home outfit?
Two hand hold together or just one hand enough?
Do you think I could use a stress ball ?
I'm sorry, I know this is irrelevant, but you are so beautiful ❤.
OMG thank you!
I wish I would've thought of a comb during my labor. I did squeeze the bed railing and my SO's hand to death lol.
See you married. Do you have any kids
