    I started reloading back in 1980 using a $13 Lee Loader kit. As time progressed and exposure to hand loading techniques, I thought I had acquired a high level of knowledge. Constantly watching your videos repeatedly for the last 3 years, I continue to learn things I had missed! Greg, you have enlightened me to so many things that had me frustrated by being stuck at .5-.6 moa (back before the internet) with rare .3-.4 moa @ 100 yds. Thank you so much ❤

    Great Video, Great message But it seems that to many people worry about where they are going instead of where they are ! God created this world for us, how big is that he made it just for us, Everything we need to live and prosper is here for us to gather ,work and enjoy, yet we keep turning up our noses at what his work has done. Where you are going in the end is it not by faith we are saved? my church is the outdoors the mountains if you can not walk into the wilderness and see God at every step then it seems you are not appreciating what God has given to us. we are not perfect and never will be in this form try your best and do what is right as best we can ,yes I agree cussing and sexual jokes are not in good taste, but to ignore and belittle what he has created for us in this life seems to be a insult to God........

      @@primalrights absolutely not, you said that the real good part of life was what comes after this life, and that confuses me as God made the heavens and earth for us, we were supposed to live here forever. But man fell and lost his chance to do so, but we still have a life here in all the glory God has created the afterlife will take place when it is our turn to go, untill then i think we need to worry more about taking care of this life and the earth and it, s people as best as we can.... I hope you can understand what I am trying to say, maybe I am not saying it well. Thanks for listening

  • @garysreloadingroom

    I usually deprime and then wet tumble, followed by annealing, then sizing and trim. I then dip the necks into Imperial Dry Neck Lube, and then run the brass over a neck mandrel. The final step is to run a caliber specific nylon brush through the neck. I assume that it distributes the Imperial Dry Neck Lube and helps with more consistent bullet release. I don't have a way to verify the neck seating pressure, but this might be an interesting test.

    Greg thank you for the information you provide. I have a question at 25min in... So if I understand correctly your order of operations are, Anneal, decap/resize, tumble, prime, charge and seat? Maybe its due to the high volume of cases I reload but tumbling more then 200 cases at a time, usually I end up with necks that are not uniform. Do you recommend breaking them up into separate smaller batches is better then adding an expander mandrel in before priming? Thank you again.

    Soot is common on 450 bushmaster brass all the way to the case head. Doesn't matter if it's an AR or a boltgun. I'm sure it's due to the low 38.5kpsi operating pressure. As you up the pressure in a boltgun the soot goes away.

    Great content, i do have a question. Can something as small as marking brass around the brass body with a sharpie cause any issues be it over pressure or otherwise? Sharpie is extremely thin, but i have heard this from a couple high level prs shooters at this point.

    • @primalrights
      @primalrights Před 4 dny

      @@joshuasaha5068 It’s not about thin… it’s about surface lubricity, or “grip.” Very easy to change that grip.

  • @davecollins6113
    @davecollins6113 Před 4 dny

    You can certainly get blowback on the case body from not enough of a slow powder, a light bullet can contribute to it, as well, with brass that has been shot a few times and not annealed. Powder gas moves a bit faster than the bullet does into the barrel, brass hasn't had enough pressure to expand fully yet, it all depends on the timng on it, maybe the shoulder seals, maybe it doesn't, maybe it seals just after some gas gets there, where you don't get a fully collapsed case, just a groove over the shoulder and part way down. I've had cold weather and hot weather hangfires with reduced loads, lube blowbacks in cold weather with reduced loads and cast bullets. I've had unsized cases have lube blowbacks show up in the 300 shot range, with breech seated bullets, never once annealed, and it wouldn't have saved that brass at that point, new brass fixed the issue.

    Years ago I had problems when reloading for .223 rem , had loaded a lot of 308 Win and 22-250 , and never had a problem , 1st ammo I made , had smoke come out the breech , and the primer was pierced .This was a std load straight out of a reloading manual , not a max load at all . I thought maybe its the brass , swapped out for Lapua , same result , a while later I mentioned it to a ammo making company , and the 1st thing he said , was I using Federal primers , Opps , too soft . So I stopped using Fed for the 223 , use Fed for large mag primers thou , went to CCI .

    I like to yhink i helped in the making of this because i emailed you and taylor about this very issue in my 22bra. Thanks for the info. I am curious greg is it possible to see false pressure signs in something like this because the case is stretching from bolt face to emd of chamber rather then expanding inside the chamber?
