1/64 is Matchbox car scale. 1/56 is Bolt Action WW2 size. 1/48 was O railroad scale. 1/87 was HO railroad scale. Sooo back in the old days...wargaming armies were primarily 25mm or 1/72. Metal. A Napoleonic period game could have several hundred figures on each side. WW2 guys could have tanks, artillery and planes in 1/72 as well as plastic soldiers at an affordable price. D&D was played with 25mm because it was based on Chainmail, a fantasy wargames rule set. Citadel and Games Workshop shifted to 28mm and 25mm was sidelined.

Having a new d&d group I’m playing with, have thought of doing a HeroQuest campaign. This would definitely be a great addition to that

15:48 Spell Mix plays best when you have additional spell sets such as the Elf Spells from EQP - Mage of the Mirror (I guess Elf players prefer to select their own spells), or if you have the Wizards of Morcar expansion featuring Spells of Darkness, Spells of Detection and Spells of Protection. Other custom spell sets such as Nature Spells or Ice Spells may come in handy (and if Zargon allows it, also Bard, Warlock and Druid spells). Same consideration for 10:17 Arcana Study which also gives a boost to 9:38 A Magic Moment skill, 'cos the Wizard may have a higher number of spells to cast during that turn.

3:50 Master Stroke skill is intended to be a "long shot"! I guess no Morcar or Zargon player would like to face heroes with super powers, so the chance of a succesful roll is limited to 12.5% here to balance the high power this skill has to offer. But imagine the Dwarf with only 1 or 2 Body Points left and facing an Ogre boss with 10 Body Points. Would it be worth to use the skill or no? Would you run away from the dungeon (if possible) or would you take your only chance to kill the boss with a single hit? This card also make the Hand Axe worth to be in your equipment.

I liked the deep dive into the homebrew process. I'm looking forward to more homebrew monsters. I think its a valuable skill for Zargon to have- as with a small tweak to the monster you can effectively rerun a dungeon and get a new experience. Re-killing zombies is all fun and games until the Gargoyle Tyrant busts through the wall. 'H.E.R.O.E.S' ;p For the black orc ability to amp other green monsters I could see it between an aoe aura or 'spell' that gives other green monsters anywhere between rolling an extra die (attack or move or defend) for a turn or using the black dice instead for a turn if you use the monster as a singular elite unit. The extra die one could get spicy if a monster can be effected by more than one instance of the ability at a time. Personally I think I would go with the flexible extra die for a turn as an ability in most cases, but for a more elite version use the aura. I found the insight about the HP really useful as I wouldn't have really thought about the extra time that could add up just in trying to get damage thru. Though I've mostly run the early quests in the book.

We used the big orcboss of battlemasters wich was made in 1992 by MB in our homebrew HQ. You could guess the stats of this monster. It was insane. The model is also insane. We use the black orcs as luitenants.

They're really not small, they're standard 25mm (1:72), and would fit in just fine with other 25mm miniatures. Sure they'll look small when you compare them to 30mm (1:60) or larger minis. They would also look small if you compare them to life-sized statues.

This ninja seems to be modelled after the Ninja Tori-Jima from the Heroes for Dungeon Quest Expansion 1987.

The animal ally skill cards are def a must have for those of us that cant get more than two people in a game. Its a great buff to have for the wolf, ill def make some custom ones for the non HQ animal allies i have. Also.. that Chaotic Sword is pretty sweet.

Hi Ash! Fantastic video, sir. When I did my first Dreadening Deck, I did use AI for some components. I do all of the composition myself always, but i did have a little help with assets back then. This was months before the story about how AI actually worked. The AI scandal was a HUGE driving factor in why Advanced Armory went to a second edition. I did a lot of overtime and invested a ton of my own money into real art assets from real artists. I refreshed my own skillset as well just by virtue of experience through working on my system. I create a lot of my own assets now as well. Since then I have remade that deck with fresh human creative goodness. One must be careful though, when shopping asset packs. As you mentioned, some asset creators have a little help. Most of the time, it's really obvious. Just be sure to screen a pack before you buy or download.

The 3 skulls roll is not 50%. It is (1/2)•(1/2)•(1/2) = 1/8 ~ 12.5%

This idea is great. But to me, it is over powered, if applied to some of the expansions. I would suggest, Zargon/Morcar has to roll a red dice and only by chance he is allowed to draw a card from this deck. This will reduce the number of cards he is able to use.

Nicely done. I've seen the Home Brewed Heroes on Ye Old Inn, and I like the level up system they use. I use their system as a guide line so not to overpower my Home Brewed Characters.

Thanks Ash, very much appreciated. I'm too far in on Cthulhu Quest 4, but will definately check this out for book 5 onwards. I think there will always be an element of AI in what I'm doing though, for unique looks I'm after (especially for an RPG I am working on with its take on Orcs especially). Having said that, this is most definately more than just food for thought, especially if there is an artist out there that fits that RPGs style. Any artists wanting to get in touch, especially for the RPG, let me know.
