@@MaartenOverweg Don't under-estimate how much a big effort like that 300K ride impacts you. I think anyone would have been feeling ropey on a 100K ride so close to it. And then, if you chuck in a few GPS-related curve-balls, it all stops being fun. All good here mate - just about to take myself up Zwift's The Grade for the second time today. Was recording it this morning for a video I'm planning and hadn't noticed that OBS froze up about 10 mins into the ride. So, it was a full lap of Peak Performance this morning and it'll be a quick warm up and then straight up the Oh Hill No course this afternoon. Deep joy!!! LOL.

Fully agree, I always try to just finish the route. In this case I quit the route and took a detour after my feet got soaking wet again. I've just had too many wet feet days over the past months and months of rain 🙈

@@marvingvk Hi Marvin! Thanks for watching the video! We used a campsite called Zegenoord on day 1 and De Tol on day 2. But the Veluwe area is littered with campsites, it’s quite touristy. Therefore also good to check and maybe even book in advance. It can be hard to find a spot during the summer season. Let me know if you have any other questions!

@@MaartenOverweg All good here mate thanks. I have a couple of videos in the works right now. One is an overview of Zwifts 'The Grade' climb and why I think it should be a regular part of any Zwifter's week. The other is about how to make sure you have a good race even when things go bad (like wrecking a wheel in the car park during setup). 😂

@@VeloViking Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised actually. I always upload all my files to the GoPro cloud and apparently it then automatically does this. I never really looked at that feature 😅

@@MaartenOverweg Sadly I only got to record an intro for a video of my last gravel event! Racing/riding with the front group does it almost impossible to be a cameraman as well 😏

@@VeloViking Yeah, I don't think racing and filming are a great match...Very hard to do indeed. Maybe try an automatic edit as well? Then at least I can have a look at those images, would be interesting to see I sure.

@@rythymsection7335 Hi! Allow me to take a stab, sorry I can’t be super precise because it’s been a while…we were with the 2 of us and split the bill for sleep and eating. We stayed in hotels 3 nights (100.- average for a room), stayed at a campsite 2 nights and did one night of wildcamping. So, that would be something like 250.- per person for sleep. And food and drinks were on average 50.- per day. So in total roughly 500.- but please note you can do it much cheaper (or much more expensive 😅).

Popper! How did your exams go? Nah mate, I'm getting to old to do the same thing twice. I want to focus on my FTP for the next couple months and then maybe try an ultra endurance bikepacking event like the Taunus bikepacking in Germany or the Bright Midnight in Norway. There are just too many fun events and I want to do as many as possible 🥳

Me too on the weather 😅 it's even hard to remember when the last time was that I had a full day of riding without rain or anything 😂 I trained for this for 8 months and tried to get everything as dialed in as possible (bikefit, bib shorts, etc etc`), so in the end: it is doable, even for me, but it's definitely hard work. I hope you do it though, it's very fulfilling (afterwards) 😂

@@MaartenOverwegNot sure. I have something that resembles a cut where the tire meets the rim. I was riding in the sand section in Leendertbos and all of a sudden I heart a sound resembling a blown up shopping bag that slowly deflates. And then a kilometer onwards I had a flat. Tried pumping it up, but didn’t work at all. So walked to Valkenswaard where the organizers picked me up to bring me back to feed zone B where they had technical assistance. Only thing they could do was put in an inner tube, which would also have been risky. So I DNF’ed. Which still feels horrible.
