I canoe camp also. I just got back from Utah, the Green River, Desolation/Gray Canyons. Beautiful, incredible. The bow seat is open. I would welcome good company.

I actually believe that too. There really is something about the smell of a campfire. Well not even just the smell…you could be alone in the middle of nowhere and they make you feel so safe and cozy. Thank you! I appreciate you following along ☺️☺️
@@Apeaceofthewoods I took the name "Watches Leaves Dancing" As my camping name because I do like to watch the leaves dance when you make a campfife under a tree and the heat rising causes the leaves to rise and fall. That was fresh. Your beautiful hair .... when starting a fire, please tie pull your hair back. Burnt hair looks funny and seriously stinks. /^HIGH 5 on the first catch. Don't learn the hard way - get them puppies away from the water. If they come off, an oh do they, its a chunk easier to grab them on dry land, than water ( = RAD in da U.P.

The SD card was fine thankfully but the camera was not. It still won’t turn on :/

Haha I’m pretty sure it was user error but I ended up getting rid of it and getting an open face one that seems to be working for now

Thank you!! Unfortunately the camera did not survive but FORTUNATELY the memory card did. I didn’t lose any of the footage. I still have the camera in case by some miracle it turns on again one day lol

Love your vids! I think the issue you had with the fishing rod was the rod was a bait casting set up and you were using a spinning reel(or open face). The bait caster rods have the eyes facing up. Where the spinning rods would be face down when you’re holding the rod out. Try not to get frustrated with fishing, it’s a tough sport! But when you get ahold of it, it gets a little easier. Just a little😉
I appreciate that ☺️☺️☺️ haha you noticed I was holding inside down 🤦♀️ that was exactly the issue. Or one of the issues lol. I had no idea fishing was so complicated. My expectations for myself were way too high initially. It’s good to know it gets better…hopefully doesn’t take too long for me to really get the hang of it lol

Hey, you REALLY need to learn more science. Also, you pack a canoe for SH8te. Also, you have NO weather sense, judgement is poor, shoulda gone to ground much sooner. Says this very old man. Next. Lose the pole, take a line and hooks, make a fair pole from WOOD from the bank. AND for God's sake, do not go to places with NO aid should you dump a canoe, gotta swim, lose the gear, now starving and alone in an area with NO help. DUH. Do not strike at the branches. Hit the branch at the point where it leaves its larger branch. You need a grandpa, sis. Lived in Michigan since the fifties. It can DROP you in a second, never found.

It took me years to work up the courage to do it. I 100% think you should, but when you feel like you’re ready. The first few times were nerve racking and I’m finding that there is a lot that you cannot learn until you’re actually out doing it. If its something you want to do then it will definitely be worth it 😊 there is absolutely nothing like spending time away in nature

What is the brand and length of your canoe? Why did you choose a canoe over a kayak?
It’s an Esquif Adirondack. 12ft and 40lbs. I went with a canoe because of the amount of gear that I wanted to be able to carry especially on longer trips in the future. I also wanted something that would be fairly easy to transport between portages…although it’s not necessarily easy right now but it’s doable.
