GR86 gets much needed BRAKE UPGRADE!
In this video we upgrade a pain point on this car when it comes to performance driving. After taking this car to the track I quickly realized the stock brakes that come with the car were not powerful enough to withstand the abuse brakes receive during a typical track day weekend. The stock brakes would fade halfway through a 20 minute session and would get worse as the day progressed. I decided to go ahead and throw some stronger pads and better brake fluid in the car. I went with Hawk DTC-60 front brake pads and Hawk DTC-30 rear brake pads along with Motul RBF 700 brake fluid. In this video I explain what makes these brakes better. Hope y'all enjoy!

In this video we went ahead and removed/disconnected a few more parts to get the FA20 Engine ready for removal. We removed the Injector Driver, Engine Wiring, Vacuum Tube, Overpipe, Heater Hoses, Starter and Lower Radiator hose. We're very close to being able to take the FA20 out! Made an oopsie at the track on my second day of the event. Learned some valuable lessons from my mistakes and got a decent amount of seat time. This track day helped me increase my confidence in my skill and the connection to the GR86. Got a few things to work on to improve the car's performance on the track but overall had a great experience!!

Finally took the GR86 back to the track but instead of NJMP, we took the GR86 out to Sebring! If you plan on going to Sebring for the first time I would highly recommend watching this video as NASA will not provide any information on what you need to do. Hope y'all enjoy!

OIL PRESSURE SENSOR & P3 GAUGE for the GR86!!

In this video I installed the P3 Vent Mounted Gauge for the Toyota GR86 and then wire in an Oil Pressure Sensor also provided by P3 into the Analog 1 of the gauge. In this episode of the FA20 removal we took out most of the front end of the car. This includes the metal front bumper, AC Condenser, Radiator, Fans, Coolant Hoses, Coolant Reservoir and Front Bracket. Took the GR86 to the alignment shop and lowered the coilers about half an inch to get the car lower to the ground and looking right! End result was worth all the trouble! Watch till the end to see what the new fitment looks like!

Decided to install Cusco Upper Control Arms in the GR86 to combat the rubbing issues I was having on the rear quarter panel. The instructor told us not to put the car in track mode so I wasn’t able to check my temps. I now put the car in track mode and have an oil pressure gauge and oil accumulator setup so definitely keeping an eye 🙌🏼

Idk if it’s the size of my feet lol but I can’t my foot on both pedals. I do have smaller feet tho so maybe that’s my problem
@@Fin_mistake its doable! You’re not trying to press the gas all the way down. Youre blipping the throttle as you downshift while in the clutch for that brief moment. Best way to practice is to have the car on accessory mode and do the motion over and over

Brother you’re not supposed to teflon the AN sides of the hoses, AN lines are machined to fit at such tight tolerances that you don’t ever need to tape or over tighten them. On another note. How many quarts over did you fill it? Did you notice any new noises in the engine bay ?
Appreciate the callout Ryan! The instructions seemed like it wanted you to but it’s wasn’t super clear so I ended up using it anyway. I ended up overfilling about 2 liters but the dipstick was still showing about halfway between the 2 dots so it could probably take more. I’m preparing a track prep video in a few weeks where I’ll be overfilling by about a liter. I’ve had the system on the car for about 3 weeks now and so far no noises, squeaks or rattles. The only thing you hear is the valve opening when you prelube the engine. Other than I haven’t heard any random noises and nothing has leaked yet. Hope this helps!

Did this a while back, it is possibly the hardest install I've done in a couple years(when doing it on the floor). What a pain! Also beware that it doesn't matter how many times you adjust(align) and lock the collar, it will come loose after some driving(sometimes same day). Apparently it doesn't affect the alignment since is just the locking collar but it is annoying.

the rub is real lol. the fender garnish bracket is probably bent on yours as it is mine. I want to figure out a fix to kinda delete that bracket but still be able to mount that garnish there, but Im not a fabricator lol.
I’ve seen people cut the metal out and use 3m to keep the garnish in place. I just didn’t wanna cut it 😭😭😭

@@davidfajardo2312 your setup will be slightly more inset but you might still run into a bit of rubbing. Just don’t drop it too low and dodge those potholes. Tires also matter, so R888R are more blocky and square so they tend to run more than most tires

do the short hubs for the older brzs for for the 2022+ ones?
I’m not 100% sure but I would imagine they do! The splines on the hubs are exactly the same so I would think they do
@@Fin_mistake well, the hub you used is for the older brz, but I wouldn't see why they wouldn't work. Have you ran into any issues yet?
@@8we3t yeah that’s correct, I originally bought it for my 2013 brz but since it’s been down I ended up using it for the GR86. No issues other than the alignment issues I mentioned in the video! I’ve had it on the car for a little while now and all has been good! I remove my steering wheel basically every time I drive the car, 1-2 times a week and haven’t run into any issues with that
