Kinda weak VC list, daemons still struggled despite having a good picked list and one of the few kinda favourable match ups for them, daemons are def a bottom 3 faction if not just straight up the worst Vampire can't cast or dispel while on armor or shield(you can pick the hauberk), can use nehek no problem with that Thank you for the battle report!

A really good sourcebook I have used for a couple of my events to set things in the Border Princes is Renegade Crowns. Its an RPG sourcebook from 2nd Ed Warhammer Fantasy RPG. The book has half of its content (50+ pages) dedicated to the random generation of a section of territory in the Borderlands, from the terrain type all the way through to types of ruins, their history and even settlements. Its great!

I don't think the problem that FAQ is trying to solve with scoring points for fanatics is as you describe. Pretty sure they had people claiming that even if you destroyed the parent unit you don't get the points if there are still released fanatics alive. So they're just putting a stop to that nonsense. I agree that the other player should really get the points for the fanatics as soon as they're released, hopefully that will come in a future FAQ at some point along with some other sensible rules for them.

Great discussion as always. On the topic of using alternate models/3d printing: for me it’s about the game aesthetic ultimately. The best way to achieve the Old World aesthetic on the tabletop is using genuine GW Warhammer Old World models (old and new). And, if you buy alternate models or 3d print your own that look very close or are carbon copies of these, then there’s no issue at all. It’s when people put down their “Bretonnian” army made up of fully 3d printed, animal-samarai warriors that the aesthetic is completely broken and I no longer accept it.

These guys are just brutal, the value for points are low levels and for the cheap units is just crazy. One of our local players has stopped using them because he feels that they are way too strong for their points.

Boys I’ve got some terrible news - I recently started a job where I can wear headphones all day and I’ve been binging the podcast, but I’m finally up to date. Not sure how to pass the time at work now without this chit chat, so I regret to inform you that you three will have to move to a daily release schedule. Great battle report. The early spell movement taking out 5 !! fanatics was game changing. The damage they would have done could have been devastating. Double A-bombs are great but I agree with the skaven player that struggle with any flying monster, particularly dragons.

1:04:08 this comment isn’t much help but I remember a white dwarf from the early 2000s (6th ed times for sure) that had a sort of slow grow campaign depicting chaos war bands fighting amongst themselves, and they had a system for the characters to get more mutations and abilities over time as they gained the favour of the gods. Pretty cool but yeh I read it the best part of 25 years ago so I have no idea which number it is sorry! I’d have to assume it was after the 6th chaos army book which was 2002?

I see some potential with Doomfire Warlocks if you put the assailment spell "Daemonic Familiars" on it, which gives 2D6 Strength 2 hits with no armour save (6+ spell). On top of that you have 6 Poisonned attack and 10 attacks from the Dark steeds. All of that with movement 9, you can hunt a lof of things and be quite a nuisance in general.

Guys about soft/hard cover it’s important say you have to check model by model if he got Los and if it’s soft/hard cover. Honestly I think that penalize shoot a bit. Especially Skirmisher, where models in the same unit block Los😅

You cant run Hammerhand AND Cloud of corruption on the Plaque priest. You can only exchange one spell for a signature spell
