Fossegrimen - The Waterfall Spirit | Norwegian Fantasy Music
Lyrics: Knut Buen
***
Eg er ein som ingen kjenner
Aldri lik frå stund til stund
Eins med fossen stødt eg renner
Utfor stup og ned i grunn
Eg er ein du berre anar
Som eit spel i veldig sus
Ein som myrkje sjeler manar
Inn til seg i grime-rus
Eg gjer alle meir åleine
Lik ein ven du aldri vinn
For om meg kan ingen meine
At dei fram til hjarta finn
Eg er tru i den som tvilar
Eg er tvilen i kvar tru
Eg er fredløysa som filar
Otten under band og bru

I adapted a theme from The Witcher soundtrack, combining the enchanting sound of the Hardanger Fiddle with CSS and Pacific. The legato patch not only performs exceptionally on its own but also adds a captivating dimension when layered with a full string section. Bear McCreary using the Hardanger Fiddle in "God of War"
zhlédnutí 510Před 6 měsíci
Nordic folk music tones are often sought after when conveying the sounds of adventure and fantasy. The game is heavily based on Norse mythology, and similar to The Lord of the Rings, which also draws strong inspiration from Norse mythology, the developers of God of War enlist Nordic folk musicians to provide the soundtrack with a Nordic cultural foundation. The music for the game is composed by...

Nordic Echoes - Virtual Hardanger Fiddle - Teaser
zhlédnutí 996Před 6 měsíci
This is the first in a series of teasers demonstrating my new library "Nordic Echoes". Think of it as your special Scandinavian layering toolkit. It's strong enough to stand on its own, but it shines when you blend it with your favorite patches. Many of the sounds and patches will be shown in greater detail in the upcoming days, especially in an orchestral context. I'm by no means a professiona...
Anyway to share these performance presets?
Will share them on my Kofi page, will make an announcement here :)
How do you handle the negative track delay using expression map?
Thanks for reaching out man. This is a problem where there is no obvious solution yet (Looking at you Steinberg). I set a rough delay that works with most articulations, but if they are too far apart in terms of delay, I split the tracks if needed.
@@RunarLundvall Got it. Thank you!
i had it make a few club bangers and they were really shit, so i feel a bit better for the time being.
Luckily that is my impression most of the time too! Nowhere near the coherent output I expect from it.
I wonder if each thing it produces can be truly unique ?
Absolutely fantastic!
Most appreciated, Jakub! :D
This was perfect for where I am in my learning process right now. So many lights coming on. Thanks!
Thank you! Glad it could be of help :D
Perfect vibes
Than you, fellow Scandinavian!
Great little piece! I love how you kept it understated. Crazy that ERA still kicks the pants off of similar libraries these days, despite being almost a decade old.
Thanks a lot! I know, right? Yet another testament to the fact that old samples still really count when they are programmed well :D
Boah cool!
Thanks maestro!
Metal track man! Did Knut sing this as well?
Thank you! No, a friend of mine helped out :D
Oh yes, this really is on another level, love it. Really looking forward to the walkthrough. Great work Runar!
Thanks a lot man!
Goosebumps... the atmosphere is insane!!!
Thank you!!
Very nice sound, great work.
Thank you!
Hello Runar- this session was an eye-opening moment for me. As a self-taught- I always struggled when I sat to write and my themes never moved after the basic theme line and I could not figure out why and how to move from there. I realised what I was missing when I went through your process. It taught me how sketching should be done before diving into actual instruments to orchestrate. It helped first arrive at the length and breadth of the piece pretty much to the last detail before getting carried away with orchestration. Thanks a lot. Glad YT showed me this in the feeds.
Wonderful, so glad to hear this! Was exactly what I intended the course to be about :D
utrolig bra runar! får vi vite noe når dette kommer ut?
When naming the 6 tracks, are you grouping by register? Thanks
Exactly!
Keep coming back to this as perhaps the *ideal* nyckelharpe VI!
Thanks, that means a lot! Stay tuned for more teasers :D
Kjempegod jobb!
Tusen takk for det!
Pent og stemningsfylt Runar (10 hour loop plz xd)
Haha, takk! :D
Hauntingly beautiful 🤩
Takker!!
extremely hyped!
Glad to hear that!
Congratulation Runar, it sounds sweat. looking forward
Thank you!
This is amazing! thanks for doing this and pls do more synchron prime projects!

YES.
Nailed it! 😉❤😄
:D :D
Out of interest - how did you win it?
This is really helpful, especially seeing how you did your own trills and glissandos. Would you make a short tutorial on how to do these excluded articulations?
Well crafted and excellent sounding! I want to hear more music with this🔥
You will - stay tuned!
Sweet! So these are your og nyckelharpe sample too?
Yes! In Beta-phase now :)
@@RunarLundvall awesome. Looking forward to using these myself!
What wonderful magic is this? Something I totally didn't see coming!?! Nyckelharpe! Have you recorded that too or is it from a different library? Sounds gorgeous! The Hardanger too, works beautifully together. Can't wait for this.... 🙂
Thanks for you ever-supporting comments, my friend! Yes, have had some time to do some extra stuff since the last teasers ;)
RIP Bernard Hill 😢

Bro! That's so f amazing 😍🔥
Thanks a lot! Glad you guys are still waiting, have some cool things prepared!
It sounds so good! Smooth and realistic. Any updates on when it's available, and which DAWs it's compatible with? As a fellow Norwegian folk musician (trad song) I am so excited to get into this! (Fallturillturalltura)
Takk! Har blitt en liten pause i prosjektet her, men absolutt ikke avsluttet, så følg med på kanalen! Det er et Kontakt 6 instrument så det kan brukes med alle DAWs :D
He should do the Zelda movie.
Where did you find this virtual instrument, if you made it are you willing to sell a copy. Really Good library
It's getting ready for release, thank you for your kind message!
@@RunarLundvall oh ok
That's cool. Where can I download it? Is it paid
Always wanted to get this library! 😊 You are using it well! ❤
Thanks a lot man! I say go for it :D
Oh yes! Beautiful little folky composition Runar 🙂 Just what we all needed now I think. And so nice to hear more from Era 2 as well.
Thanks a lot man!
Tavern vibes! Don't worry about AI too much, as long as you make music you enjoy that's all that really matters. Corporate music will just continue to be corporate.
That's really true. It was fun for about two days :P
So lovely 🥹
Thank you!
Indeed some of the most inspiring instruments to me - those from Mr. Tarilonte. Really nice piece of music too! ☺
Thanks! What is the percussion used in Tableaus of Fenthenbrook? It sounds really good man.
@@RunarLundvall If memory serves me right it was a combination of ERA II and Metropolis Ark 1/2 for when it needed to be bigger. If there is anything else in there I can't recall it at the minute.
Great stuff! Did you find any sound artifact in this library when playing any instrument? I ask this because there are some vi control folks claimed that there are glitches and artifacts when playing, not smooth.
Thanks! I have seen that discussion, but I have not come across anything like that myself. Especially the woodwinds are all buttery smooth.
@@RunarLundvall Great to know thanks :) I think I'm gonna grab it with the other dark medieval library in the end of the year. Probably the next black Friday.
@@Ahmad-Mounir44 It's one of the very best, you won't regret it!
Insane 😮😢
Let's start salmon-export
Wow, yes, the future is approaching quickly! Very impressive AI generated music. Of course, the consequences of this we'll have to see going forward. I agree that we can't stick our head in the sand with this technology, even if we don't like it, it is here and will become even better in the future. Although, I do think there will be a use for human creativity and guidance, even with AI being able to render impressive sound files like this. I do hope this will be available as a more hybrid solution in the future, with more customisable use, where you can feed it midi or sheet music, and it can create quick and great mockups of your music, and quicken the workflow of arranging. If the end sound product becomes too good, I fear more for the sample libraries and studio musicians than the composers, as I do think there is a need for a human in control to deliver a meaningful end result, not just by text prompting and creating things in "the style of...". For example in film music, I would think it would be hard for an AI adequately interpret a scenes (real) emotion, subtext and nuances in a meaningful way. But maybe that will come with AI 2.0, who knows. And for live music, I bet people will still enjoy hearing live music in the future, with real people on stage, and I don't see AI taking over the live scene any time soon. But some integration here will surely come as well in some way. Exciting, a bit scary, but here it is no matter how we feel about it 😅I will either way continue to work on my compositions, learning the craft, and bettering my skills, as I do think it will still matter now and in the future, with or without AI integrated in my workflow 😊
Very well said, man. I really hope your predictions are the way it will evolve!
I keep coming back to this. It's so fun. Might finally have time this weekend to make a handful of my own.
Thanks! Releasing all presets (200) in a small pack this weekend 🎉
@@RunarLundvall 200?! That's an absurd amount of work. Congrats alone on powering through so many individual presets.
Maybe your the one who's gonna save me, cuz after all, your Runar Lundvall.
High praise, but I'll do my best!
@@RunarLundvall Great channel, subscribed, always wanted to write orchestral. TY brother.
@@dave-synth74 Thanks a lot! Feel free to DM if you have more specific questions, happy to help!
It’s all right. I can feel some gaps compositionally and some unnatural pauses that an orchestra won’t do. Quality of “samples” otherwise is among the best.
Yep, really agree with that! I wish I could edit those stems and tweak some MIDI :P
@@RunarLundvall - It’s probably just a matter of time until they make that available. At least the stems part. Then it becomes a real tool for composers!
@@zaharishtonov That would be sooo helpful! :D
@@RunarLundvall - So, it turns out that you can do stems! Don’t know how but I just found out that it is possible!
@@zaharishtonov Inside of Udio??
No worries, I'll just generate paying clients with AI too
xD
@@RunarLundvall this changes absolutely nothing for virtual composers.. i know you just doing this for views with your clickbait title tho, sorry if i'm coming off rude, i'm not trying to be.. I just am kinda upset so many ppl promoting udio as "the next big thing" it's not.. it's not legal to claim anything it creates as your own product either. that's why it is free. they are covering their own butts.
@@Maplefoxx-vl2ew Not rude at all, I welcome discussions wholeheartedly. It's not about Udio specifically, but the technological advancements we are facing. What Udio does was unheard of just 9 months ago. Let's watch the development and see where AI and samples are in another 9 months :P Going to be very interesting to see how the whole discussion of copyright will evolve too.
It’s really nice too, better than anything I’ve composed I’d say
I feel just the same way.
@@RunarLundvall You are a great composer though so you should have no fears. All this is doing is creating noise, there is no score so an orchestra won't be able to play it.
@@GavinNellist Thank you for your kind comment! I wonder if something like a audio to midi - feature will be able to work on such material in the future. What do yo think? It works already with single instrument melody/harmony but obviously huge struggles involved when trying to tackle a symphonic orchestra.
@@RunarLundvall you’re welcome. I think it will be difficult for something to identify the different instruments although not beyond the realms of possibility
But, it doesn't matter how good something is if it isn't interesting... my interest in these creations is near 0 haha. Give me a simple home-cooked meal from a friend any day rather than the perfectly blended herbs and spices in a perfectly cooked meal from some fast food restaurant :)
