    Darn it, I was so close to resisting the urge to buy, but your awesome demo might just push me over the edge! That room sound is irresistible-I've been using Albion I string spiccatos on almost everything since I bought it. Maybe a reasonable purchase after all? 🤔

    Wow, congratulations man! You did it! 🙂 That sounds awesome! Love that Air Lyndhurst sound. So looking forward to hear more compositions of yours made with this, and also how you compare it with CSS. Also, after hearing this I''m almost starting to believe that this library would be a better upgrade than upgrading my BBC Core to Professional (in time...)

      Thank you! Hmm, good question - I have never tried BBC so I can't say much about that. This will pretty much swap out the whole CS template for now. Not because CS is bad at all, but because we have this big room sound in SSO, and can leave CS sounding its smaller natural room instead of trying to fake it bigger in every track :P

    Aaaah! You went and bought it! 😀 SSO is a staple library. What can I say. In your hands, it will be well utilized!

    Sounds fantastic, Runar! I took the plunge and got it a few days ago. I’m not regretting it.

    Sounds awesome! Does default mean just the tree mic?

      Yes, correct. I did not touch a thing, just started programming. Nothing in Cubase mixer.

      @@RunarLundvallNeat! I just bought it myself so will see if 32GB RAM is enough for one mic "essential instruments and articulations" template

      @@TremendouzIf you use mics sparsely and sometimes disable unused instruments, I'm sure that will work out just fine. I use everything except performance patches fully purged. Kontakt

      @@TremendouzSpitfire usually also has special lightweight patches that aren't as heavy on the ram

      @Tremendouz Před 5 měsíci +2

      @@BenBerkenboschMusic I think I saw something like that in the legacy patches but overall, the RAM usage doesn't seem too bad especially if I purge articulations I use less and leave just the essentials. I bet I could even use 2 mics. Tree + outrigger seems like a decent combo

    Sounds amazing!!! What are your thoughts on the brass in particular?

    • @RunarLundvall
      @RunarLundvall  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Thanks a lot! The cuivre layer, general cleaning up of patches and the reprogrammed performance patches are all great improvements. Sometimes still need help lyrical isolated stuff, but listen to f.ex horns a2 shorts (SSB) compared to a horns a2 shorts from a smaller room + reverb (CSB + Berlin Studio), and you'll see what I mean :P

      @BenBerkenboschMusic Před 5 měsíci

      @@RunarLundvall I see!! Yeah I get what you mean, Lyndhurst has a really amazing sound, would you say you prefer this room overall compared to the convenience of a more consistently programmed, but less lush sound like CSS stuff for instance?

    • @RunarLundvall
      @RunarLundvall  Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@BenBerkenboschMusicOh absolutely. The ease of the sectional/tutti blend is just on another level with SSO. Before, CSS was used with fakery like Berlin and other reverb-solutions to try to make it bigger than it is. Now that we have AIR, we can just embrace CS-series for what it is - a superb stage/studio sound with unparalleled sample consistency and legato

    Jeremy Soule would think otherwise

    • @RunarLundvall
      @RunarLundvall  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Going from "fake room via plugins" to recordings that already contain that spatial experience was a real eye-opener for me. Never going back.

    • @Nexun8
      @Nexun8 Před 5 měsíci +1

      To be honest, the Jeremy Soule reverb-clichee isnt even that close to the truth, as pieces like Kynes Piece were recorded in a single session in a proper place with longer decay times, just with using more of the ambient mics on stuff like the choir. Yes they sound "reverbey" - but very coherent, something you wont achieve with a reverb using 90% mix on the master bus using libraries with a decca mix, to exagerarrate a bit :)
