The Beauty of Nostalgic Liminal Spaces
During many moments in our lives, we hit a turning point. A state of transition we can't turn back from. One way we've found to convey this is through what are known as "liminal spaces". Areas that represent those weird eras in our lives where we feel stuck between... really, anything. Physically, mentally, metaphorically, as long as something is moving from state A to state B, it can be liminal. These spaces can be pretty much anywhere, but they all give off that same weird vibe. They can be nostalgic, melancholy, fascinating, and so much more. They're like time capsules in the form of archeology, and are all very cool.

This type of imagery has inspired lots of great artists over the years, and that is something that was skipped over in this video. I focused more on the real world locations for the most part, but the works of liminal artists is also very breathtaking and worth looking into. Also, the definition of liminal space is very flexible and for the sake of including more personal nostalgic entries, I was very loose with what I considered. The definition isn't perfectly defined, so I recommend you decide what you want to figure as a liminal space, as it is so personal, and under the right circumstances, pretty much any space can become liminal. I also wanted to focus on purely liminal spaces, which is why the backrooms were only lightly covered, but they themselves are also very neat.
This video is being uploaded on New Year's Eve 2023! Going into the new year itself is a transitional period, so it can also be considered liminal, so I guess this is a new years special. In any case, to everyone who is reading this, have a good 2024!
This video was made in appreciation of the aesthetical art form and the ideas it represents, I hope this brings the concept to even more people and inspires more discussion. Idk why, but almost all of the SpongeBob persian dubs do have those removed scenes, such as the Squidward creepypasta 😂 Well, as an Iranian, I didn't like the SpongeBob in Tehran based on its screenshots, but when I saw it by force of my cousins, I just realized that it has a cool story and how good it could be if it was official by nickelodeon itself. The other bootlegs SpongeBob Iranian contents were just....better not to talk about them. Right, I'm an Iranian, and I do support my country, but not in making bootleg versions of my childhood crush😐 sorry for the bad English though.

i dont collect plushes but even years later your videos are a treat to watch im a DVD collector, though nothing super rare or huge story of how i got them in my collection, i do have the seasons of pokemon orange island through battle frontier i got for 70$ one of my most interesting 'how i got them story' dude posted 3 games, i only wanted one, but he wouldn't break the lot, i was about to walk since it was out of my price range then he was like 'look the basket ball game is about to start, bet on a team and if you win, ill send the games to you 100% free, if you lose, you pay double' i won i was STALKING that score board online (not watching the actual game) so yea also the time i got pokemon white and platinum for 40$....a mom just didnt know or care about their worth and so sold them to me for cheap

During my psychotic episode, I experienced incredibly vivid dreams. I had hundreds over the course of the year that I was insane. The most common recurring theme was exploring infinite liminal spaces, usually by myself. Mansions that went on forever, unique facilities, beaches, towns, and other interesting places. I never felt afraid, or creeped out. In fact, I was enchanted. They gave me a profound nostalgic feeling. It never felt like demons were lurking in these places, if anything it was like I was playing hide-and-seek with an angel, or some long-lost infatuation. It was the most special, safe feeling. One of my favorite places was a shower room. It was incredibly dim, almost black. A faint, distant light allowed me to see. The walls, floors, and ceiling were totally smooth, as though they were made from hardened clay. If I pulled a rope, warm water would pour down from the ceiling, and wash over me. I felt so peaceful and at-home. I wish I could go back to having these dreams, my current dreams don’t compare.
