46 and 2 Tool Artwork
zhlédnutí 209Před rokem
This is a review of my visual take on the song 46 and 2 by the band Tool. If you've had more than one dark night of the soul, you may be familiar with this music. Listen carefully, and you just might find more than just dark vocals. There is actually a proposed solution to your problem, however, it does require you to think, but not overthink. Experience is key to living in the solution. Or, at...

Do I make a living making pretty pictures? NO. Not yet anyway. I'm evolving into more fine art as time goes on, but I came from the graphic design universe and fell into the realm of web and content marketing many moons ago. I've been asked to create logos since I was a kid. Unfortunately, some of those are still around. Jeez! At least refresh the look dad! Anyway, I have a lot of fun working w...

Dahlias Pier Part 2 Completed Artwork Reveal

So finally, here is the second time-lapse drawing video of the commissioned artwork; "Dahlia's Pier". This took 3 months to complete the art, and a good while to make this second video. Portrait Painting of the Boys

I was asked to paint a portrait of these two as a Christmas gift. I've been doing portrait paintings since 2007. Over time, I've developed a style mixing pop art's bold shapes and colors with the loose feel of impressionist paintings. Oil on canvas paintings can get fairly pricey. One way to lower the budget is to allow an artist, like me, to work from photographs. In this video, I show an acce...

I got a great commission to create new artwork. Although this isn't the origin of the imagined image, you can see me work out sketches for the final piece that will be revealed later in coming videos. • @jafinch78

    Pro sounds like 4" diameter or larger at least Schedule 40 pipe or if square then quarter inch thick 4" or larger cemented down approximate half the length of the exposed above ground pipe length maxing out around 5 ft depth for 11 to 13ft exposed poles. That's what I was just reading. I like the PVC pipe method and am thinking using a custom pin footer so can be removed and re used later. Do the pin footer with the PVC center sleeve, so can remove the pipes and also later can remove the pipe pins of the pin footer. I don't see a video anyone doing yet with pin footers like the Handi or Diamond or other Piers.

    • @jafinch78
      @jafinch78 Před 10 měsíci

      Wondering if you use that fence post or top rail material with a piece of rebar, fiberglass or steel painted, maybe filled in with a cement mix like open source ultra high performance concrete even without the steel fibers. Thinking that'd be rock solid with an additional downward weight loading where I forgot to mention that would be better to use a pin to assure the pole never comes out of the PVC pipe footer sleeve.

    • @AdamWellborn

    Great idea and video. I also want easily removable poles. I want this kind of setup but to go across my pool so looking at building something similar but but more like 20' x 16' shade. I am thinking that maybe I need deeper hole, more concrete but not sure about maybe thicker poles although I can't actually imagine 1.5" galvanized steel poles bending. But I do not need it very high - maybe 6 ft above ground as I won't be walking under it. Any thoughts on this based on what you've done? Thanks

    • @robertperry6317
      @robertperry6317 Před 11 měsíci

      @@javierpaez6475 Not yet. I started digging the hole but having hard time with GA clay. But I mapped it all out. I abandoned the idea of fence posts and checked out metal gas piping from Home Depot. I plan on using 1" galvanized pipe which will fit snuggly into 1+1/4" galvanized pipe. So I will dig a hole maybe 3 feet deep and put in a 3' 1+1/4" pipe and that will be permanent w concrete around it. Then I simply slide in a 1" pipe into that one when I want the sun shade. Go to Home Depot or Lowes and check out the galvanized steel piping and you will see those suckers will not bend. You can always put in a 8 ft pole but start attaching it low at 5' and see how it works and move up as needed.

  • @brianmachart
    @brianmachart Před rokem

    Great suggestion for what to use for poles! As for attaching the sail to the top of the pole, it appears that you used fence rail end caps. Did you secure those on the top of the poles with the fence tension bands that are shown in the video at 0:57 below the caps or another method?

    • @AdamWellborn

      @@smellyrhinostudio Concrete has chemicals that decay treated wood. I use a heavy slathering of paint or wrap the ends in a heavy weed block to prevent direct contact with the cement. You'll notice proper deck builders use metal where the large uprights meet the concrete footers to prevent the corrosive damage caused when the two materials meet.
